I’m excited to say that after a standstill week last week, this week I lost another 2 lbs. That brings me to the super fun moment of 10 lbs lost! I remember in my nursing days working in the operating room and learning that 10 lbs of fat is roughly equal in size to a gallon milk jug. Yeah that might be more than you wanted to visualize, but for me it’s been quite motivating.
This weekend was my first challenge on Nutrisystem as we traveled to Atlanta for doctor appointments for Mary’s hip. All went well with the doctor, but for me it was hard to figure out meals as we ate out a few times. I brought bars with my for breakfast, but I couldn’t bring myself to only eat a bar for each meal. Overall I tried to follow a few rules and calorie counting in MyFitnessPal app it appears things went okay.
- I ordered a side salad with any meal I could.
- When the entree came I only ate half of it and saved the rest for later (or split it with my husband who is trying to eat healthier to help keep me motivated).
- Only drank water.
This is already a rule at home, but it’s a lot harder when there are options before you that you don’t have at home. - Researched my meals before I ate them.
I would type into MyFitnessPal the restaurants name and see if anything came up. If it did I would try to pick the healthier options in terms of calories it listed. If the restaurant wasn’t in there, I searched for what I was thinking about ordering to see just how bad of an idea that was. Seeing just how much a meal would cost me definitely helped me decide if it was worth it to eat it.
Our go to fast food is Chick Fil A, and I did learn this week that I love their grilled nuggets (8ct) and their super food broccoli and kale side salad. Total for both items 280 calories!
We are back home now and back on the Nutrisystem meals. It was a growing trip to leave the safe system of grab a lunch meal or dinner meal (everything is labeled so you don’t have to think about it). Coming back to them though, I confess I really like not having to think everything out, no research needed, just eat lunch.
If you are curious to try it, through today Nutrisystem is offering a huge discount of $100 off +free shipping and a few other freebies thrown in!
