I know that the cheaper option of this rug from Restoration Hardware’s baby brand is still expensive, but if anyone has their heart set on this cowhide patchwork rug, the look alike is definitely the option you should go with with save you $1,000!
I do think you could get away with putting this rug in the nursery as RH Baby suggests, but you may not want to put it in a well-trafficked area if you have messy young kids as it needs to be professionally cleaned. If your kids are older, I think it would look great in a living room or a bedroom!
Expensive:
RH Baby & Child Rio Patchwork Hide Ru(8’x10′) ($1,649 Shipped)
This rug is pieced together by hand in neutral shades. I love the soft look that this gives and the different texture. Hide rugs are really popular right now, but this patchwork rug is an interesting twist on the trend.
Frugal:
Overstock nuLoom nuLOOM Handmade Geometric Ivory Cowhide Rug (7’6×9’6) ($547 Shipped)
I found one rug that looked exactly like the RH Baby rug at a similar size, but it was sold out. So, this run is a slightly different color, but roughly the same size. This rug is definitely the one to go with if you’re going for this look and size. It looks to still be a quality piece that will last you a long time.
More Frugal:
Overstock nuLOOM Handmade Geometric Ivory Cowhide Rug (5′ x 8′) ($255 Shipped)
Love the look but you don’t need a rug so large? Go with the 5’x8′ rug for more than half the price! It’s the same rug and not that much smaller than the one above. It really would look great in a nursery or a living room.
