If you are looking to eat local and save money on produce be sure to shop at your Local Farmers’ Market. Not only are you supporting the local economy, but you can also get great deals. I have gotten organic produce for less than the price of grocery store conventional produce at my Farmer’s Market.
You can also find deals on eggs, meat, flowers, baked goods, and more!
One trick is to buy in bulk. Farmers will often give you a better deal the more you buy. If you have extra produce you can freeze it, can it, or split it with a friend. When you do preserve it you’ll save money later by avoiding having to buy items out of season.
