Frugal Date Friday - Southern SaversToday for Frugal Date Friday, we are heading to a local book store. You can each grab a beverage and an armful of books.

We usually pick out things we’d never buy, but are interested in. You can even share some of your favorite things from your book with your spouse. It is a great way to share your interests and learn about his.

If you are going to Barnes and Noble, be sure to print this coupon for B1G1 Starbucks Frappuccino Beverages. I personally recommend the Chai Tea Frappuccino. The coupon is only valid at Barnes & Noble Starbucks locations.

If you want to bring the kids along, bring some books and snacks for them. You can grab a big table and let them entertain themselves drawing, reading, etc. while you and your husband read your selections.

It is hard to believe it is already August! There are so many delicious fruits and vegetables in season right now. With all of the great deals on these items, it is the perfect time to stock up based on the August Grocery Store Trends.

We have been busy freezing and canning peaches, green beans, and tomatoes! I love being able to stock up on good deals and preserve items from our garden. It really helps our grocery budget when the items are no longer in season.

Zaycon foodsZaycon Foods has opened their Fall Chicken Sale early! The Sales events themselves are still about (3) months away in most regions, but you and your family can place an order now to ensure that you get as much chicken as you need. You’ll also have plenty of time to decide which event works best for your schedule, plus it helps Zaycon to plan ahead and to add inventory to regions that sell out!

They are offering a 40 lb case for $73.60 ($1.84 lb). This chicken is fresh, never frozen, boneless, skinless all-natural chicken breast. I recommend going in on this with another family or (2) just to ensure you have enough room and use for 40 pounds of chicken.

You’ll pick up your chicken directly from the butcher and will need to be split up before freezing,  so have freezer bags or a Food Saver on hand to make it easier.

Go ahead and place your order, and learn about all the great products they have to offer, depending on your region.
