This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Dollar General for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.
It may seem a bit early, but it’s time to start thinking holiday deals and Black Friday. Ads are slowly coming out (I’m working on typing them and will have many up starting next week) and it’s time to start making game plans. Before you get the camping gear ready in the back of the car I thought we should share tips to help each other out. What are ways to get the best deals and stand in the least lines?
Tips for Shopping on Black Friday
If you are headed out to brave the crowds in hunt of a good deal this Black Friday, here are some tips for a successful trip:
- Be prepared for long lines and cold weather. Dress accordingly!
- Bring friends or family members to help you grab deals! Go for the big deals yourself and have them grab smaller deals around the store.
- Know your stores policies (coupons, layaways, returns, etc.)
- If you don’t see a deal, ask an employee or keep searching through the store!
- If you have a smartphone, use an app to scan barcodes and compare in-store deals with online prices!
- Avoid impulse buys: Not everything advertised is a great deal.
- Keep your receipts… just in case you change your mind!
Stay Home & Shop Online
Many stores, Dollar General included, have increased inventory and offer the same deals online. This is kind of a no brainer… wait in lines at the store to maybe get one, or sit at home and grab one without a crazy rush. Not to mention that you got to wear your pajamas, listen to Christmas carols and drink hot cocoa while shopping (maybe that’s just my routine). Many stores will also have coupon codes you can use and be offering free shipping.
Dollar General will not be opening in the middle of the night, but they will have deals you don’t want to miss in toys, electronics, books, and more. Many DG stores will also be open for on Thanksgiving day (usually with select Thanksgiving Day only hot deals too). I don’t know all the details of this year’s ad, but to give you an idea from last year, we saw an mp3 player for $8, DVDs starting $1.25 and even a portable DVD player for $35.
Did you know that Dollar General just opened their 11,000 store? That’s almost double the number of stores that any other chain has in the US. Before you think another store might have better deals, I would urge you to think about that buying power!
Here are all the Publix unadvertised deals for this week starting 11/6 or 11/7. There are several B1G1 deals that you won’t want to miss!
Make sure to check out the Publix weekly ad too for FREE Betty Crocker Baking Mixes and FREE Pillsbury sweet rolls plus more great deals.
Feel free to leave a comment with any additional deals or coupons I may have missed.
