For the past two weeks, I shared some of my favorite homeschool organization tools and classroom essentials. For my final post in this series, I will focus on some homeschool favorites for learning on the go. As homeschoolers, a lot of our learning takes place outside of the home. From nature hikes to museums to extracurriculars and simply running errands, we manage to turn any space into a classroom. Here are some of the items we have found most useful during our adventures.
Learning on the Go
Backpack/Laptop Bag – $6
Just because our kids aren’t carrying their books on a daily basis doesn’t mean they don’t need a backpack. While small tote bags are great for just carrying a few small books and a journal, it is more comfortable and practical for each child to carry a backpack when walking a trail or museum. This also makes every child responsible for carrying their own books, supplies, water and snacks during any outing. Plus, they’ll remain hands-free!
Book Pouches with Handles, 4-pack – $19.99
These book pouches are perfect for each child to take along a few books and activities on short car rides or waiting room situations. I like the handles and labels (I use the child’s name). Keep them packed ahead of time so you never have to worry about being prepared.
