Don’t forget to join me this coming Monday night for an online Q&A session. We will cover how to save on meat and produce. This is one of the most common questions I get, so I have no doubt some of you also are trying to figure out how to save on the most expensive part of buying groceries.
We’ll start at 8:30 eastern Monday, 8/11. Head over to the Google Hangout page to RSVP. You can also click on the Q&A button in the video box to enter questions now.
Here are the Aldi deals for the ad this week! You won’t be able to use coupons at Aldi, so the ones listed are for price matching purposes.

We see a lot of good deals for diapers around here. There was a time where I didn’t have any kids and I had been so used to searching for deals on diapers that it crushed me to pass them up. I have news for you: there is a huge need for diapers to be donated. If you aren’t in a diaper phase of life, still consider buying them!
Couponers are in a great position to help out others. Food banks and women’s shelters are always asking for diaper donations, so why not pick up an extra pack of diapers?
Make sure you pick up a variety of sizes when you’re donating! I went on a tour of Harvest Hope Food Bank a couple months ago, and the picture above shows that the only size they had was size 2. That means any family that came in needing diapers needing any other size left with nothing.
You may not realize this, but there is no diaper support system to help folks in need. They are not paid for with food stamps or WIC. Just because there is no money to pay for them doesn’t mean they aren’t need though.
When to Buy:
Set a buy price in your mind of anything you are willing pay. Maybe anytime we see diapers on sale for $3.50 or less a pack?? You think that would be rare but in reality we see that at least once a month! If you don’t believe me, right now you can get Pull-Ups for $1.97 at Bi-Lo. We’ll also see Huggies diapers for $3.30 a pack at CVS next week. Go ahead and grab the deal when you see it hit your “donation price”.
However, don’t go crazy in the name of donating and clear off the entire shelf. There are still other moms that are wanting diapers for their babies. If you see that a store is having a great deal on diapers that week and you’re planning on buying a number of packs, ask the store to order some extra just for you so there will still be plenty for everyone else.
Another good tool is this post about stocking up on diapers (how much to buy and at what price).
Where to Donate:
Food Banks
Crisis Pregnancy Center
Women’s Shelters
Diaper Banks
Your Church (Nursery or Families)
