Do your kids do the thing where they can’t get enough bananas, and then all of a sudden they don’t want bananas? Mine do, too, and when that happens, I end up making something with all the ripe bananas. A friend was going through a hard time last week, but she’s allergic to dairy, so I thought about some of the recipes I’ve made with bananas and decided to tweak my favorite banana bread recipe. This was super easy to make dairy free, and a bonus is that it’s also very low in sugar. If you like chocolate chips in your banana bread like I do, you can also find dairy-free ones made by Enjoy Life. This dairy free banana bread recipe makes two loaves—one for you and one for a friend!
Dairy Free Banana Bread
You’ll need some very ripe bananas. I used 7 large ones, but you can also use 8 smaller ones.
Mix up the bananas, eggs, and vanilla with your stand mixer.
Add in your oil/fat. I used 1/4 cup vegetable oil. You can also use coconut oil or applesauce as long as it’s not butter!
Now add in both kinds of sugar.
Add in the baking soda, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
