This is one giveaway that I should make my husband write. Ever since I met him he has always wanted more musical instruments. I think right now we have at least 3 guitars, 1 banjo, 1 mandolin and I don’t know what else in our house. Sadly for me I can’t play any of them!! It’s always been on my bucket list though to learn to play something.
So that my girls don’t end up like me, we’ve been working on getting instruments in their hands, right now tin whistles are about all I can stand though. No matter what instrument or skill level, instruments can get really expensive.
Musician’s Friend is a great resource for lots of music needs. They have everything from guitars and amps to trumpets and flutes (and all the accessories you could ever need). They do sell high end, big names, but they also have great instruments for those that are just learning. I think over half of the instruments in my house have come from Musician’s Friend.
They also have a great deal going on right now and I know you all love that:
In honor of Labor Day, they are offering FREE shipping and savings of up to $100 ($10 off $150, $25 off $250 or $100 off $600+). If you order online, the discount will automatically be added to your order through 2:59 am EST Monday, September 5. If you call and order over the phone, mention code LABOR11 for the discount until 1:59 am EST.
They also have a lot of deals just for back-to-school, perfect if your 7th grader just cam home with a passion for playing tuba!
What makes it better is you can also go through ShopatHome.com for an additional 6% cash back.
(I just found junior guitars for $99 that my girls would love!!)

My husband and I are majoring in Music Education. I play French horn, he plays saxophone as our primary instrument. We can play almost anything you can put infront of us. We have many method classes that require us to purchase books as well as mouthpieces and reeds to pass the class. We hope our son will obtain some of our musical talent. I would love to learn to play the fiddle
Pretty much ever since I met my husband, he’s had the urge to play sax again. He played through middle school, high school and some college and always looks back at it fondly. I’ve been trying to convince him he’d really love teaching band, though I’m not sure he’s quite there yet on the idea. He’d probably love the ability to put money towards a sax, and I’d love to be able to give him a gift card towards it as a Xmas/birthday type thing, since it’s likely I won’t see him on his birthday this year (travels for work).
I have always wanted to play the piano!
i would love to play the dobro
Piano is my favorite instrument!
Not naturally musical myself, although I did take piano lessons as a child. My husband comes from a musical family, and he played guitar with a rock band that originated in Nashville. I would like a keyboard for my daughter who is 8 yrs old. She began taking lessons last year and was off for the summer. It is now time to begin lessons again. She has been using an old keyboard that we borrowed from a cousin. I would love to use the $300.00 toward the purchase of a nice keyboard for her. We have purchased a few items from MF in the past for my son who plays in our church youth praise band. My husband has been out of work temporarily disabled for a couple of months and will not go back until mid Oct. so $$$ is limited so a $300 gift card would come in very handy.

I’ve always wanted to learn to play guitar but I’m not sure I can make my hands do different things at the same time :)
If I may, I’d like to give a different reason for wanting to win this Musician’s Friend gift card. I, personally, play a little guitar, but am mostly a vocalist and am happy solely using that gift. So, this gift card would only benefit me if I were to win and could pass it along to someone deserving of it. And I know of a person who could use it and deserves to treat himself for the first time in a long time. He is a single dad, and has raised his children basically on his own. He is a hard worker, always has been and is to this day. He helps others whenever the opportunity arises. For many years, he has put himself last and put the needs of his family first. This may not sound any nobler than most other husbands and fathers, but the great stress he has been living under (I will omit any details) would cause most to begin to feel that they deserve more for themselves. With him, this is not the case. Although he has a good, stable job, he is like most of us and makes just enough to make ends meet and provide for him and his children. He is interested in music and has been learning to play the guitar for several years now. His current guitar is decent, but has a problem with intonation (staying in tune) and other electrical issues that a local music shop has told him can not be repaired cheaply. I would love for him to be able to purchase a new guitar so that he can continue learning to play, but on a guitar that’s worthy of the one playing it.
The trumpet!

When I was growing up I always wanted to play an instrument. However, my family could not afford it. So when I had children I was bound and determined to give them the opportunity to play one. I have four children, and I would love to not have to pay rental fees and be able to buy a base for my son, or a cello for my daughter. I feel that music is such a great way for them to express themselves in a healthy way. I always remember escaping life’s ordeals and pressure with my music.
Thank you,
Patience D (aka jeepmom)

My daughter has been taking piano for 2 years and I kind of do her lesson on my own as a way to learn more. I have been teaching guitar now for 3 years and I have been learning it with the students as I teach it.

I’ve always wanted to learn how to play the piano.
I play the violin but I have always wanted to play flute. My daughter plays piano and clarinet, one of son plays violin and trumpet and the other son plays cello. My husband plays cello and he also sings in the church! I play violin, piano and organ. But no one plays flute!!!
Musician’s friend, you are more like Musician’s devil’s advocate. My husband has way too many guitars and a drum set. We shall see what your evil giftcard will buy this time :) I’d love to have a real piano again.
I grew up on piano, did a short stint on cello and clarinet, and moved to tuba and now have a baritone. My heart belongs to low brass but my kids want to play guitar. As long as they play something, I will cheer them on. Maybe not the drums but I could probably adjust.
I learned how to play the drums when I was 15! Thought I would be a rock star by now. Nope! A 26 year old teacher instead :-)
Piano!
piano
My husband has always dreamed of playing the banjo. We are newlyweds and can’t afford a real one, so he has this childs one we found at a garage sale that I think may actually be a toy ((not really, but it is pretty rough.haha)). He sits on the back porch with head phones in listening to Dierks Bentley bluegrass album and attempting to play like him. It isn’t the best sounding thing, although I often wonder if it is the junky banjo he has, but he tries and it means a lot to him and thats all that matters :)
So for him, I would LOVE a real banjo!
I have always wanted to play the flute. I learned to play the trumpet because that is what we already had.
I would love to learn how to play guitar!

I’d love to re-learn the Ukelele…haven’t played since I was a kid in Hawaii. My son is DYING for an acoustic drum set to go along with is electric. My daughter has outgrown her 1/2 size violin and needs to move on up. Who gets priority here???
My daughter can play nearly anything and is now passing on the love of making music to elementary students! I love hearing her play especially her oboe, but that was not the case when she was learning. Hang in there parents it gets better! For those on here who may know me, I want to be a cello! Music has always been a big part of our lives and our household.

I would soooo love this! I have always wanted to learn the drums! As a child my mother told me and my sister we weren’t musically inclined so we wouldn’t join the band and thus she wouldn’t have to hear us practice! My cousin whom she also raised went on the be first Chair and get a band Scholarship to UVA. Me on the other hand still dreams of playing the drums and I still sing into my hairbrush in the morning!

I’ve played piano since I was 6. I’m now 28 and HATED piano lessons as a child. I’m a former piano teacher and current “free-lance” pianist who is so thankful my mom recognized the God-given talent (I don’t even pretend to take credit for being successful at the piano. The way I practiced as a child…oh my…lol. College was another story, though!) I had and wouldn’t let me quit. I personally would love to learn to play the violin or the flute. My husband and I are worship leaders for our church. Recently his guitar has gotten a short in the place you plug in the guitar to the amp. Since his guitar is super cheap anyway, it would cost more to fix than the guitar cost. So, I would love to be able to win the $300 gift card and use it toward a nice new guitar for him to lead worship with. My M-I-L plays wonderful and has a keyboard. That would be AWESOME! I used to play the clarinet, so I can read music. I gave it up for Dance/Colorguard in HS. I wasn’t very good, I thought it was too nerdy! (What a shame!) I have three children and it would be fun to take lessons with them, they could even set the timer and make momma practice!
The Clarinet I thought was too nerdy, let me clarify…I wish I would have gotten better. I just wasn’t a fan of the sound, like I should have been. Piano’s however are BEAUTIFUL!
Happy to say that my Husband and I gave each other the music as wedding gifts to each other. He’s been a drummer since before he was a teen, and received a beautiful drum set. I am a band director and piano teacher and I have a degree in music
education, so I play all the winds, strings, percussion, piano. The best
times in my life were spent playing tuba in high school and college. If
we’re talking about what we’d love to own, I’d love to be able to
replace my Casio Privia PX-130 that was destroyed in a terrible auto
accident in October (insurance would not pay for it). Then my piano
students at the Christian school would no longer have to use a crummy
keyboard that is not even touch sensitive in their lessons!
Harmonica sounds like it may be fun and it’s a fun/travel size!
I’ve always wanted to learn to play the guaitar.

My husband’s first electric guitar was a 65′ Gibson Sunburst Firebird.. It was beautiful. He would play for me when we were dating. He would play for our first child before he was born. Seemed like he could calm him down by playing. When our son was born and we were at the doctors office, our house was burglarized. My husband’s guitar was taken with his amp. Our son was blessed with the love of music. He could play anything by listening to it. We are bless to have our grandson, who is blessed like his daddy. My husband loves Musician’s Friend and orders all the time for himself and our grandson now. We will be married 41 years on the 11th of this month. I would love to give him a nice anniversary present from you.

My husband has recently started playing his guitar with our youth group at church during Praise time. He really loves it!! I have heard him talk about a guitar pedal that he would really like to have because it gives different sounds like acoustic or bass. He does not know I am doing this, it would be really awesome to surprise him with this, thought it was worth a try.
Guitar, as a teacher a guitar and lessons could add live music to my classroom.
Piano books…my 7 yr. old daughter takes piano lessons from a lady in our town and this would get us through several more years of books…I teach coupon classes locally to help pay for the lessons/books…what a great help that would be until I go back to teaching. (My 9 yr. old son is on a waiting list for this teacher, so two in piano lessons…what a relief that would be to know I had money for their books)!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
the bass guitar……i remember watching my dad play he tried to show me but I didn’t care now I’m too busy but he is teaching my kids
I’ve always wanted to learn to play the bass- it just seemed cool! Maybe my husband will teach me. ;)

I played several different types of clarinets back in high school. I also have a piano in my home and love to play ( it calms the nerves! ). But…I have always wanted to play the mandolin even tho I know almost nothing about this instrument. It just seems to always come to mind when I think of learning something new.
Guitar…ive tried but it just didn’t happen!
I play the clarinet currently in a community band and reallly enjoy it. My son in the 6th grade just joined the school band and chose the saxophone as the instrument he would like to play so we purchased a used one last Saturday after much shopping around. He loves it and I wouldn’t mind learning to play the sax as well!
I have always wanted to play the harp but that probably will have to wait until retirement. BTW, the Musicians Friend is treated by my husband the way other husbands treat Sports Illustrated.
Clarinet- played a few years in middle school, hope my daughter picks it up.
I played clarinet throughout highschool and am now teaching myself, or aleast trying, to play the violin. My husband is a musician and always tells me how much he needs new drum heads and sticks. His birthday is on the 20th of september so winning this card would help me out with his gift.

Hello! Thanks for the opportunity to tell you about my precious Josephine who has longed to play violin for a year now. Whenever she hears violin she pretends to hold one under her chin and pull her make-believe bow accross the strings. Would be thrilled to put the real thing in her hands!
I need a new electric/acoustic guitar so this would be perfect.

My husband has this magical ability to play any instrument he touches… I don’t know how! He can pick up something and in a few minutes he is playing a song. I wish I could do this! I’ve always wanted to play guitar :)
Ever since I was a little kid I’ve wanted to learn the upright bass. Since they’re so big, I guess I just thought it’d be cool to be a girl who knew how to play such an imposing instrument. But the desire to learn it has stayed with me. :)

My husband is an amazing man and an amazing musician. He currently works as a youth pastor and up until this year, played guitar to lead worship and spoke every Wednesday. He has always wanted to learn to play the piano but as we have added children to our family the time and money for lessons just hasn’t been there. We are pursuing adoption now so no end in sight! He would love have some things for his guitar or maybe a keyboard to get started on those lessons! Thanks!
PIANO: Have been trying to learn piano for 20 years now!! Every year something comes up to distract me from lessons. I wanna FINALLY make my dream come true and learn it so I can teach others and play the songs that I write.

My son has always wanted to play the keyboard/piano. He plays around with the one at church whenever we are there and he gets the chance. He is 14 and he had a few lessons when he was 8 or 9 but not since then. We can’t afford a really nice keyboard and being a single mom with a limited income it breaks my heart because he picks up things by ear really well and I want him to be able to learn and play and fulfill a dream of his.

Being the 13th of 17 children, I always wanted to play the piano, but we could not afford the piano or lessons. My mom always told me I had the fingers to play. Now, the mom of 3 grown daughters, I still would love to have a piano and take piano lessons.
I took piano lessons, but am sad that I didn’t stick with it.
Keyboard…My husband is a worship leader and we are both pianists and we would love to have a keyboard to use at home.
My dad brought me a beautiful accordian back from Ukraine. It isin perfect condition with beautiful mother of pearl accents. t was made in the 1950’s. It was his dream that I would learn to play it. I would love to be able to learn how to play this beautiful instrument.

I was born with “piano hands” my Nana has always told me, but I have never been able to afford lessons. I tried to teach myself but that didn’t work. I LOVE PIANO!
I am going to post this on my husband’s behalf. He is currently teaching himself to play the guitar. He had a banjo which we sold several years ago because we needed some extra money. We have regretted it tremendously! I would love to be able to get him another banjo because he really would love to “pick” it up again!
I’ve always wanted to learn to play the guitar…

I’ve always wanted to play the violin. My grandmother and mother played it, and I find it to have such a beautiful sound. It’s so versatile, too. You can play any kind of music with it and it sounds…right.
Piano
We have a piano, which I love, but I’ve always thought I’d like to play a small harp or a violin.
I am not instrumentally inclined (haha!) so I would love to learn to play the piano! My 10-year-old is also wanting to learn to play the guitar, so winning this would be awesome!
My daughter plays the piano and I played when I was younger, but she has taught herself the guitar and I would love to be able to play too!

My son’s sixteenth birthday is coming up soon, and he has always wanted to learn to play the violin. This would make an awesome surprise for him!
My 24 year old daughter is the music teacher at a small Christian school. She has recently started a small orchestra with just the students who own instruments. She really could use a cello or viola to even things out. or for that matter, any instrument, so more children could have an opportunity to play. But very few families own instruments and there are no funds for the school to purchase one. This would certainly be used by several students over many years. This gift card would be tremendous in helping her school. Thanks for you your consideration!
I love the piano. I can play some and took lessons as a child.
My son had to give up guitar lessons because my husband was unemployed for 9 months. I would love to be able to have him play again.
My son is a very accomplished musician and I would love to accompany him. I don’t know where he received his talent from, but it is not hereditary.
The piano. It somehow speaks to me and makes me feel alive. I have always wanted to learn how to play, but never had the money to learn. My dream is to one day learn.

I would love to learn the violin, soulful instrument!
We want a mandolin!
My entire family consisting of 5 children and 1 husband play guitars and keyboard. I don’t play anything. My husband leads the worship at our church every Sunday with some of our kids (the ones still at home). The first Sunday of every month (for 26 years) our family does a service of music at a drug and alcohol hospital. We have a starter electric guitar and bass. We have a keyboard that is old and has a short in the adapter. I listen to my 16 son, teaching himself to play the bass and electric guitar, while watching you tube videos of songs. He jacks up the volume (on the bass and electric guitar) so he can hear himself play while wearing head phones to hear you tube. We purchased a cajong from you several years ago which he also taught himself to play ( playing with his drummer cousin). All this happens in my dining room where there is a desk w/computer, dining table, chairs, old piano, old keyboard, cajong, bass, electric guitar and 2 amps. When he plays we cannot hear the tv in the living room. We don’t have a finished basement where he can practice in solitude. It would make me so happy to get an upgraded bass or electric guitar, guitar hangers so we don’t trip over all the equipment. I want to encourage him because I drove my parents crazy as a third grader learning the violin and playing the same note for an hour practice everyday. I quit after 2 weeks. I want him to succeed and enjoy.
I’ve always wanted to learn to play the saxophone…I think it is the sexiest sounding instrument….not that I even want to be sexy at my age, but I always feel good when I hear the sax in a song.
We need a few new cymbals for my 8-year-old’s drum set!!!!

Drums please! I would LOVE to play the drums and would love even more to be able to give my girls the gift of making music. Several times over the last year or two we have worked and re-worked our family budget to include music lessons but no matter how much couponing I do there never seems to be room. What a great giveaway. Thanks Jenny.
I want to learn to play guitar
I’ve always wanted to play the piano.
I would like to learn to play the piano
I have absolutely no musical ability, but, thankfully, both my sons got my husband’s “music gene”. They are percussionists, and have bought sticks, drum pads, stands, heads, etc from Musician’s Friend for years. I can attest to their excellent customer service and super-fast shipping. It’s a happy day around my house when the Musician’s Friend catalog arrives – and I’m VERY happy to hear I can now get 6% back through Shop At Home!!
I like piano and violin.
I have always wanted to learn how to play piano!
Guitar
I have always wanted to learn how to play the banjo as well!!
I have 2 kids and I am sure they would help me decide on a new hobby for them.
I’ve wanted to learn to play the guitar since I was little but never seem to have the time or money for an instructor. My fiancé plays and is always talking about teaching me how to play but he only has one guitar that he bought second hand a few years ago. It’s pretty much impossible to teach someone guitar with only one instrument between the two of you.
My birthday is on september 5th and his is on the 15th. We are both “broke college students” so we can’t really afford presents for each other. We both work of course but rent, lights, and food take up pretty much all our money ( thank God for this site and couponing or I don’t know what we would do). We don’t have extra finances for leisurely activities. One thing we would be able to do together without having to pay out every time we go to do it would be playing the guitar together. If I won this giveaway I would give it to my boyfriend so he can have a decent birthday and I would take his old guitar. His gift to me would be guitar lessons. So I can always wish for a great birthday gift for both of us from my beloved Southern Savers site. :)
Thanks Jenny,
God bless.
My daughter and I both play clarinet and would love to upgrade!! Thanks Jenny!
I’ve always wanted to know how to play the piano. I took a few lessons when I was little but didn’t like the teacher so my mom took me out and never enrolled me in another class. In college I took a semester of it but never done very well. My 6 yr old daughter is wanting to learn to play piano/keyboard and I’m about to enroll her in classes within the next couple of mts. My husband is a drummer and has gotten lots of things from Musican’s friend.
Electric guitar.
I always wanted to learn how to play the piano. My family was unable to afford lessons when I was younger. My cousin who lived next door was able to receive piano lessons. I remember going to her home after her lessons for her to teach me what she had learned. We had so much fun! I really only learned a few easy children’s songs like “Mary had a little Lamb.” It has left me now since I have not played in years. I have asked my husband to teach me to play guitar so we will see if he has the patience. Music is such a great thing for the heart, soul, and mind!
My daughter has been taking guitar lessons and has really been making progress. I would love to be able to get her a new accoustic guitar to practice with instead of the old, hand me down she’s been using. She has to tune it constantly. Thank you for the opportunity!
My husband gave me a guitar for our anniversary — can’t wait to learn to play it!
My little girl wants to learn to play the guitar so bad. She picks on her daddys all the time.

My son plays an Acustic guitar at a magnet school but would love to learn on an electric guitar. Hes learning so he can maybe start a youth worship band for church! Winning would be a true blessing for him and me as a parent.
Thanks for the opportunity to enter the giveaway! :)
Favorite instruments? Guitar and bass. Infinite possibilities…infinite expression…
Oh no – my other comment did not get posted! This is me commenting about my comment on not having the money to purchase an acoustic electric guitar to play at church. Musician’s friend has a great used guitar that retailed for $1000 for just over $300. With a new baby and a lost income a new to me guitar is out of the picture!
the piano. :)

MY daughter is clarinet performance major and would LOVE LOVE to have this certificate to help with reeds or purchase a nice A Clarinet.!!!!!
My husband plays guitar and owns a few. He plays in the praise band at church. My 5 year old son keeps asking if he can play with daddy on stage. My son has a heart and an ear for music. He chose music class over soccer. It would be nice to get him either an electric or acoustic guitar in his size so he can start working towards his dream to play on stage with daddy.
My husband and I both play the guitar. I’d love to learn to play the drums…that’s in my one-day to-do list!
I’d love to learn to play the guitar! I’ve tried some with others’ instruments, but don’t have my own guitar, I have four daughters and a hubby all interested in/endeavoring various instruments.

I grew up playing piano, but quit when I was a teenager and it wasn’t “cool” anymore. Needless to say, I regret quitting because my 10 year hiatus caused a little deterioration in my skills. In the past couple of years I have begun playing again, and I am enjoying it more each day.
my neice and daughter are both dying for a guitar! Would love to get them one for Christmas!
Violin! Violin!!! Violin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It’s hard to pick a favorite since my husband and 2 of my children play different instruments, but I do enjoy the piano and violin a lot. I would love to have the gift card to add either a cello or a saxaphone to our growing list. We now have 2 pianos, an organ, a keyboard, an acustic and an electric guitar, 2 violins, an electric violin, a mandolin, a penny whistle, a harmonica, an african drum, and a drum set. All purchased over several years and with some very good deals on ebay and thrift stores as well as music stores.
my husband plays the guitar and mandolin and drums. He would really like to learn piano!! Also we are going to have our children play either the piano or violin!
Last Christmas, my 14 year old son decided that he wanted a bass guitar as his “big” present. However, since we have other kids in the house who also expect “big” presents and we weren’t sure just how long he would remain interested in the bass, we choose to buy . . . shall we say . . . a more “inexpensive” instrument. Well, as things often do in our family, this method backfired and now we are left with a crappy bass guitar that is constantly out of tune and a son who PLAYS IT ALL THE TIME. We would love to be able to replace this instrument but just can’t until our lottery checks start rolling in. BTW, Alabama doesn’t even HAVE a lottery so we may be waiting awhile . . . . . Thanks Southern Savers! We love you!
I grew up playing guitar, then i am self taught with bass and drums. God really blessed me with the talents to play so to thank Him, everytime I play its dedicated to Him!
would love to have the patience to learn the guitar.
My favorite instrument is the Fender Stratocaster.
I play the violin and viola at our local symphony. I am in constant need of strings, rosin and other supplies such as polish and MUSIC. :) I love this site it has tought me how to save alot of money couponing every day. I would love to get the gift card so I could also grab a few items to give to my music students to share the gift. Thank you for all you do for us.
My daughter has been asking for a drum set for awhile now, I always wanted to play the piano. My nephews can play anything. Music has always been a big part of their lives.
My husband is a musician. He is a drummer primarily, but he can pick up anything and teach himself. He becomes a pro so fast…He’s one of those annoying people. :) Our little 1 year old is obviously musically inclined. He can find the beat in any funky groovy music, loves to dance, play the drums, and he strums my husband’s guitars. We’d love to buy him a guitar for Christmas…

My oldest son, now 11, just started middle school and sixth grade band. Since he was an infant, I have played music for him, the universal language and a gift for all beings. I am excited , as is he, that he is now officially learning an instrument so he can play music, not just listen. To pay for his instrument, I am cutting my budget even more, coupons and sales as always, being part of the equation. Thank you Jenny for all you do, once again for helping my family and many others, and yes, allowing music to be a part of our lives.
P. S. My oldest son is learning the trumpet!

My son Brian will be turning four next week and he is OBSESSED with playing drums! It started at about 2 1/2 when he saw a drummer perform on TV. After that he was tap, tap tapping away all day, every day! He was beating on my lampshades so much that my husband and I finally MADE him a drum set from cookie tins and saltines tins and disposable trays from publix :-)
This summer he started taking drum lessons and is as dedicated student as any! He can tell you the name of every drum, and will “jam out” with his drum teacher with a huge grin on his face! He would love a new high hat and some new cymbals to crash! ( oh, and I would like some headphones ;-)
My husband plays the guitar and he’s always wanting new accessories.
I know how to play the guitar but I have ALWAYS wanted to play a Razorback Dean Guitar!!!!

I took piano lessons for a few years but I wish I would have stuck with it and really learned how to play well.

I played the piano growing up as a kid. In middle school I played the clarinet for three years in my middle school marching band. I really would love to go back to playing either instrument. I miss it so much. I’ve always wanted a grand baby piano to play and practice on. They have the most beautiful sound.

I would love love LOVE to learn cello; I actually recieved one last Christmas, but I needs so much work done to it, that it is vertually impossible to play. I’m a middle school band director and actually play almost all instruments, (some much better than others), except strings. This time of year is so exciting as beginning band students come in with passion and all kinds of ideas of what they want to play – and I have the amazing “job” of teaching them.
I would love to learn how to play the bassoon well! With three little children, who love music, it can be a challenge – they often take over, pulling my hands off the piano to be replaced with their little ones; or wearing me down with their, “mommy, let me try…” as I practice flute.
To whomever the three hundred dollar gift card goes to, grow your passion!! Music is a gift for a lifetime.

I have always wanted to learn to play the piano but my family could not afford one let alone the lessons although I have always sang and appreciated all music. My son is deaf in his left ear and although he had trouble early on hearing sounds, he is really developing a sense of appreciation for music – all kinds. A musician friend of mine has been explaining about different musicians being deaf or partially deaf and how they are still able to perform. It has been fun looking up these people and showing my son he is not limited being partially deaf. I hope to get him interested in learning to play an instrument to help grow his confidence and his newly learned appreciation for music.

Always wanted to become a piano player, so that I could play and practice with my 10 year old daughter. I actually signed up for lessons even though I was pregnant with son.!!! I sure would love take lessons so that I can play with my daughter.
I have always wanted to play the piano!!! I took a keyboarding class in middle school, but that was just 3 month class. Lessons are expensive, and well so is a new Piano!!! Hi I’m a subscriber to shopathome and my daughter wants to play trumpet. She loves the instrument. She’s always listening to songs and pointing out the trumpet in the music. She started 6th grade this year with the opportunity to be in band so the excitement began. We’ve been going over our finances and due to our new assignment in the military we can’t afford the instrument. We are now at Fort Drum ad have to buy snow suits winter boats and winter clothes for four children. It would be nice to win this because she is a straight A student and helps everyway she can. Plus her birthday is coming u on the 30th. I just want to give her something I know she will love and appreciate instead of telling her no we can’t afford what she wants again.
