Shopping for teenagers isn’t always easy. They don’t want to be little, but they still want to have fun. Think about giving them a mix of fun, and practical. For most in this age group brands matter, but you’ll know your kid as to whether that is important for them or not. This group is also online so you could cheat and ask them to make an Amazon gift wish list for you… then your job is done!
Top Gift for Girls 14-18:
Mary Square Farrah Make Up Bag
Retails: $29.99
This is gorgeous in person! The gold and teal make it feel very fancy, and the dual levels make it the perfect make up case rather than digging through to find everything. It’s soft sided, but still firm to hold it’s shape so brushes etc. won’t get mangled if this gets put into a suitcase. Mary Square is a fun site that sells encouraging products for women.
Mary Square Taylor Makeup Bag
Retails: $12.99
Use code makeup50 to get 50% off this bag right now. It’s super simple and at $6.49 total makes for an easy stocking stuffer even. This is small and fits in their purse or bag for anything they want to keep together. I would see it not just for makeup but also for pens and pencils, personal care items… anything they want to keep together in a cute tote.
Jewelry, Scarves & Accessories
Retails: $5+
Load them up with new accessories! My favorite jewelry site MyCentsofStyle.com regularly has sales with items starting at $5 on sale. Also use coupon code SOUTHERN to save 20% off your entire order plus get free shipping.
Shimmer Temporary Tattoos & Hair Chalk,
Retails: $10+
My husband may have a fit that I put these on the list, but I would have loved these (and still would enjoy them). I tried dying with kool-aid and all sorts of other things as a kid, so hair chalk is much safer!
Shoes or Handbags
Go with big name items at low prices by shopping used or even new with tags at ThredUp. Get $20 off your first order when you go through this link. Grab Kate Spade, Lily, Tory Burch or any of there other must have items at a fraction of the price. These items don’t even look used (and some aren’t). In the end you are teaching them that they can have a few name brand items, but they can always find a way to save on them.
Amazon Fire Tablet
Retails: $50
Tablets are coming in a lot cheaper this year, especially if you stay out of the Apple camp. Tablets are a great gift for all ages, but a fun one for teens to read and play on.
Martha Stewart Loom & Weave Kit
Retails: $30
These kits make knitting a breeze, and projects quick to finish. Go ahead and grab her some yarn too so she can get started making scarves, hats and other projects.
Adult Coloring Books
Retails: $6+
This trend started last year, but it continues strong this year with so many more books out on the market to choose from. Grab a nice set of pens or colored pencils too to make it a complete gift. This particular book is great, adding in coloring with inspirational quotes. You’ll want to take each page out and hang it up around the house!
An Adventure With You
Retails: you are the limit
Grab a deal off Living Social or Groupon for a local art class, or adventure and spend time away with your favorite teen. It may seem trite but it’s true that time is really what most kids want. Just spend time with them.
Gift Cards or Cash
Sometimes just letting them get what they want is the easiest and safest way to go.
