As planned this week we didn’t do any shopping.  We lived on the road back and forth to Atlanta and in a few different hotel rooms instead.  Some was for workshops and some was for medical visits for our daughter. Knowing what our week was going to hold I planned out meals so that not everything had to be dinner out (that gets pricey quick with 4 kids).  We bring snacks, drinks and other things for car rides and also plan super easy meals that we can do for dinner.  I also try to book us in hotels that have small kitchens or kitchenettes so that cooking is possible.  Also, never forget to pick the hotels that give free breakfast!!

It was good to take a week off from shopping though.  The last week of the month is always the lowest for deals since stores assume you are out of money to shop anyway.  There wasn’t much that tempted me to run out in the drugstores and only a few deals at the grocery store that I wanted (I may run out and get a few deals next Monday or Tuesday before the ad changes).

Meals that we brought from the pantry to eat:

Pre-Made Chili
Pork Chops, Rice and Canned Veggies
Sandwiches
Hot Dogs + Mac & Cheese

While our meals won’t win culinary awards, they were easy meals that took little prep or dishes to cook.
