I hadn’t intended on going grocery shopping for much this week until I saw the 47¢ Egglands Best Eggs at Bi-Lo… after that I couldn’t stay home. It also didn’t help that I got a mailer from Pampers with a $4 and $3 off any pack of diapers coupon and a coupon for Free wipes when you bought any size pack of diapers. Those things burn holes in my pocket when they are that high value, so now we had to hit 2 different stores. Once I got ready for two stores, I then went crazy and just decided to turn it into a three store trip. This is basically unheard of for me, but it was helped by my husband being home and offering to keep the kids.
I did end up with one kiddo, my youngest who wanted to go so bad that she took all of my expired coupons and made her own coupon box (don’t tell her that they are expired though she felt very helpful with her coupons today).
Publix:
Total before sales and coupons: $126.21
Total spent: $54.47
Total Saved: $71.74 or 56.8%
This included a pork roast and a beef roast, plus 2 bottles of laundry detergent, 4 bottles of cranberry juice, 2 boxes of cereal, and a number of other items. The only thing not in the weekly ad deals was a package of diapers paired with a store coupon saving $9 off of a $10 pack of diapers (now you know why I had to go when the coupons came in the mail).
CVS:
Total before sales and coupons: $13.18
Total spent: $3.27
ECB Remaining: $3
I used my second Pampers coupon that came in the mail to pair with the Pampers ExtraCare Deal this week. The magic coupon center printed a $2 off earplugs coupon, so we also grabbed a box of earplugs that were $1.99. Might never need them, but hey they were free! We paid with a $3 ECB from a previous trip and then only owed a little bit after tax for the diapers.
Bi-Lo:
Total before sales and coupons: $119.55
Total spent: $45.61
Total saved: $73.94 or 62%
This was the icing on the cake for me. We really already spent the whole budget at Publix, but I was in the groove and decided to stick with the trips. It’s probably best that we spend the next few weeks stocking up more on food anyway (I worry what the grocery trips had without me will look like post baby). I went for the Egglands, but left with an ever better deal when I found Egglands Cage Free marked down $2 off so we got cage free eggs for 35¢. They had marked down a ton of yogurt, jello, and cheese so we stocked up and had an even more fun time getting the kraft catalina. We also grabbed lots of produce including clementines, grapes, potatoes, and carrots plus got another roast. That makes us set for three Sunday lunches after today’s trips!
One deal we grabbed not on the list: Capri Suns, 10 pk, $2.78, then used the new $1 off coupon and a .75/1 Publix store coupon from the recent stock up and save home mailer. Getting those for $1.03 is a good day!
Weekly Total:
Before sales and coupons: $258.94
Spent: $103.35
Saved: $155.39 or 60%
I know it’s more than we plan, but I’m chalking it up to nesting and actually feeling excited about the deals!
