This was a unique week at our house.  Many of you know already that this past weekend I fell and broke my tailbone, that has made very simple things not so simple anymore.  It’s also made my husband become even more of a super Dad and awesome husband.  As for shopping, it made me unable to drive or really ride comfortably in the car.  So for the next few weeks my husband is the household shopper.

This is probably the one task he is the least happy about, but he was a good sport.  I got the deals all ready and coupons cut, even wrote down specifics next to some items that he might need to know.  He also got to go with no kids, so don’t pity him…

He did awesome in the end.  Only two errors and we all have made them at one point.  The biggest being he bought the wrong size box of Rice Krispies so they didn’t ring up B1G1.  The other error being that he didn’t ask for a raincheck on a few items they were out of.  I can’t expect him to get it all though, and honestly for a non-couponer he did awesome.

His totals:

Publix:
Total Before Sales and Coupons: $85.69
Total Spent: $47.41
Total Saved: $38.28 or 45%

This included a few things he thought would make an uncomfortable wife happy that weren’t on his list.
