Did anyone else feel like this week was never going to end? I really have no complaints being safe and sound in my house as we read the news and heard reports of Boston and Texas. I went into mama mode, and spent the first few days just wanting to be with my 8 year olds. Having friends in the Boston area made it all the more tense.
For shopping this week I did a little online shopping for groceries restocking all of our gluten free baking flours from Amazon. Right now Amazon Mom Prime members can get 20% off Subscribe and Save orders if you have 5 orders set up.
I placed everything on a 3 month order and grabbed:
Bob’s Red Mill Sweet White Rice Flour, 24 oz bag, 4 pk., $11.32
Bob’s Potato Starch, 24 oz bag, 4 pk., $10.54
Bob’s Tapioca Flour, 20 oz bag, 4 pk, $8.14
Bob’s Millet Flour, 23 oz bag, 4 pk., $9.51
Bob’s Organic Rolled Oats, 32 oz bag, 4 pk., $12.65
Total order = $52.16
I know it seems like I only bought 5 things, but since everything was a 4 pack box it’s really 20 bags. Each of these at our local Kroger cost at least $4 each if not more (the oats are $7 a bag). Grabbing the 20% discount and buying in bulk we got them for $2.60 each which is awesome!
Note: It takes a little bit more time, but to get the 20% discount you have to have 5 different orders, so each one of these is their own order.
I may end up canceling the Subscribe & Save orders after they ship. That’s the joy of subscribe & save, they don’t care if you cancel and you get a great discount!
So it’s not a traditional grocery trip, but hopefully helps some of you.
