I’m taking a few days to spend with my two college students over their spring break, so no new Q&A tonight.
We’ve just gotten back into the swing of weekly videos though and already covered some great getting started topics. If you missed these, they are a great way to make sure you have the key parts of how to save on groceries, how to shop the drugstore deals and getting your budget under control.
I’ll be back next week with a Live Q&A covering How to Save on Travel (a favorite topic that I’ve really been taking to a new level this past year).
Cutting Your Grocery Budget: The Basics
I’m going to step on some toes… but you will save the most money shopping in a real grocery store. Following sales, stocking up when things are on sale, and even using a coupon or two is still the way to go to keep your grocery costs as low as possible.
I know this is a hot topic for my Aldi and Walmart fans but this is my take… “Everyday low prices” really means nothing is on sale, but you can buy it if you want to.
Top Money Saving Mobile Apps
So much of couponing these days is using your phone and knowing what mobile apps to submit receipts too. Here’s my favorites plus how to use them!
How to Shop the Drugstore Deals
My rule of thumb is: if you can eat it, buy it at a grocery store; if you can’t eat it, it should come from a drugstore!
We buy all of our personal care, household cleaners, paper goods, medicines and cosmetics in the drugstores. With the weekly deals and rewards back most of these things are prices that no other store can touch! We’re talking free toothpaste, 50¢ hair care, free cosmetics and lots of other slightly addictive deals.
How to Get Your Budget Under Control
This is a quick look at key categories and how much you should be spending. We could really cover this every week there is so much there… but it’s a great getting started look at tools to make sure you are headed in the right direction.
Getting The Most From Paid Memberships
If you are already paying for Amazon Prime or Walmart+ make sure you aren’t missing any of the added perks and ways to save. We covered, Amazon, Walmart, Costco, Sams, and Target.
