I recently transformed a small closet in my house into a sitting room. It’s only about 5 feet by 8 feet, so it’s not huge, and I wanted it to be a place I could sit for a long time without needing to get up. It took several weeks to figure out what would be helpful, but I now have a lovely little hideaway in my home where I have pretty much everything I could need right at my fingertips. You might find these items helpful in a small bedroom, in an office, in a bathroom, or even just in a regular room!
I was able to find some furniture for my little room on Facebook Marketplace and also repurpose some items from other spots in my home, but I also headed to Amazon to find some helpful items to make the small space more comfortable. Book Stand Holder
This can hold your spot in your book, your reading glasses, and also serves as a coaster. Perfect for a small side table!
Many smaller areas don’t have a lot of outlets, so you may need an extension cord to plug things in. Make sure you pay attention to if you need a two-prong or three-prong plug.
You don’t to be tripping over the extension cord, so you can stick these to the wall or the floor to keep cords out of the way.
Whether or not you have an extension cord, a power strip can be helpful if you need to plug in more than one thing (think a charger, a lamp, etc.).
My little room has an air vent but I really enjoy moving air, so a small fan could be a good find, especially during the summer!
Even if you have a larger lamp, a reading lamp can be helpful for more focused light.
This can attach to a table or desk so you can watch a show or have easy access to your device without taking up table space.
This table can pluf into an outlet so you can charge things from the table itself. I also love the shape because it can slide over the arm of a chair and causes it to take up less space.
For small spaces, a lamp with shelves will provide a bit of storage as well as some lighting.
These shelves come in a variety of colors and can hold mementos or other items and keep them off the floor.
I haven’t gone this far yet, but I’m thinking about it so I can have some cold drinks on hand!
I also haven’t bit the bullet on this yet, but the thought of going into my little room for coffee without having to go downstairs in the morning is very tempting!
This will charge your phone, watch, and Airpods (if you have them) with fewer cords!
I stuck these to the side of my side table so that I could easily keep my various chargers organized and separate.
These are awesome! They charge with a USB cable and never run out of fuel.
Use your LED lighter to light a candle and make a small space even cozier.
I love these so that you can nest them back together to save space if needed.
A mirror can add some visual interest and make a small space seem a bit bigger.
My little room is carpeted, but especially if you have hardwood floors, it might be helpful to get a small rug.
Live plants are wonderful, but what if there is very little natural light? You can still add some greenery with some tasteful fake plants.
