Abe’s Market is an online marketplace to connect buyers seeking amazing natural products with the people who make them. They have all of the natural products you could want, from food to toys, for sale in one place! I also love that you can find out things about your product that you wouldn’t normally find on the back of the box. Who makes the product? What’s in it? Where is it made? How? If you would feel more comfortable chatting directly with the seller, you can ask them any questions so you can trust the products before you bring them home.
Abe’s Market has a new video series to help you stay informed on how to live a green, healthy and natural lifestyle. They have informative short videos about natural lifestyles with advice from experts in their field.

It’s hard to decide on just one… Since August I have given my life style a major over haul. I read an article that just made me really passionate about lessening my carbon foot print. One thing I have done was buy labled recycling bags to put next to the waste basket so it made it easier for my husband to be more eco friendly too. Even if I don’t win the gift certificate, I’m excited to be introduced to Abe’s Market since we don’t have a store that sells the organic products we use for our tiny tot in our town.

Oh goodness-where to start? We do a LOT to stay “green” and have, for years. I guess the thing we have done most recently is made a decision to buy nearly all of our clothes via consignment/secondhand. We try very hard to not buy any brand NEW clothes. Luckily we live in an area with an AMAZING Goodwill and other really fantastic consignment stores. The only person in our family that struggles to find good options is my husband–but luckily he does so many other “green” things that I give him a pass on this one. : )

I’m looking forward to getting to know more about Abe’s.
I am trying to be more green every day. I have twin boys and one of them have Food Allergies. After his diagnoses I went as green as I could. Once I started reading food labels and ingredients I was scared to eat half the food in my pantry. We shop our local Farmers Market twice a week for our produce and meat. I still shop our grocery store for organic or whole items. Eventually changing our diet raised our grocery bill to rise $50-$60 more a week. So I started feeding my family one to two meatless meals a week. That has helped a ton. Other things I do to save on our bill is stopped buying plastic bottles and I also don’t waste our left overs. I re use as much as I can. I even learned how to make my own chicken broth. All of this plus recycling is how we are trying to be more green.

I got a SIGG bottle for drinking my water, instead of buying plastic. I love my SIGG!

Well besides flourescent bulbs (everywhere) and buying used items. I have been shopping only at stores I must pass going to or from work. Luckily, I pass 2 larger grocery stores and a small mom and pop market, which has a fantastic used clothes store inside . I have been buying all my clothes from them for the last 6 months. I only work 4 miles away from my house , my hubby and I share a car and I can walk to Publix. Going greener has helped me keep more green in my pocket.

We all take our own water bottles when we go anywhere. Saves money, the environment, and keeps us all hydrated!
we are continuing to swap out our regular groceries for only organic and grass feds and hormone frees. We started with milk and meats, and have moved into most dairy and fruits and veggies. It’s more expensive but we feel that it’s what is best for us and for a healthy and sustainable future for our children. We will cut back in other “excess” areas if needed so that we can make sure we’re putting the right things in our bodies. And we’re hoping to plant a few of our own veggies come spring!!
reduce paper products by using “real” napkins at dinner and washing dishes instead of tossing plates into the trash. Also stopped buying bottled water.
I have started using green cleaners instead of those productis with tons of chemicals.
I use natural items to clean my home and my body. I grow a garden and compost. And, I hope to cloth diaper soon!
we use all natural baby products and cleaning products. We also choose organic snacks and stock up whenever we find them on sale. Love Abe’s Market
We live 30 miles outside of Charlotte. Works out well for everyone.

I know that is not necessarily more natural but it is green!
About a month ago we decided to buy organic fruits, veggies, meats, and dairy.
I have recently started sewing my fabric scraps into new things. I have even been able to sell my new crafts at a local shop! This has been a great way to use what I have and keep them out of landfills.

My 90 year old grandmother is on a tight budget and wants to make something for the family members for Christmas. She originally wanted to make candle holders out of plastic water bottles :/.. instead I am saving baby food jars and am going to help her make snowglobes out of them. I am also saving them for my mom who is using them to store beads for jewelry making. If you nail the lid to a piece of wood (or the underside of a shelf) you can easily screw the jars on and off. :) sorry if this is a repeat, dont think my original post went through
