Most of you know by know that my family has a special place in our hearts for Cracker Barrel. This has developed slowly over time for a number of reasons, but the biggest reason is that I’m always comfortable with kids there. A restaurant with games on the tables and rocking chairs in the waiting areas, this place was made for us!
One of our favorite things to do on each visit is a family game of checkers. The girls aren’t experts at the rules of the game but we have a blast playing our own version as we wait for a table.
Who doesn’t love a good game of checkers? Well, Cracker Barrel now has a feature where you can play checkers anytime you want (for free) with their online game, Who Wears the Crown. Cracker Barrel is an event! To go to Cracker Barrel is to be delighted with beautiful and interesting sights (gift shop, blazing firelplace), appetizing smells (gift candles, candy, and of course the food!), delightful sounds (animated conversation, the happy clinking of dishes and glassware), comfortable textures (wooden rocking chairs and tables, homey porcelain dishes and heavy silverware), and the satisfying, comforting taste of down-home cooking, all enjoyed with good friends and family. What more could you ask for in a restaurant?

Cracker Barrel is one of our most favorite places to go. It was my dad’s favorite place for all of us to go and celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, and just to eat breakfast. We love the breakfast menu there.Country Boy Breakfast was my dad’s favorite. We still go there as a family every chance we get.

What I love most about Cracker Barrel is no matter how busy we are, whether it’s running to and from work, rehearsals or the gym, my family and I can come together for a traditional family-style Southern meal and catch up at the end of the day!
There are so many reasons!!! I LOVE the fried chicken, Hubby loves to pick up Malted milk balls, I can shop while waiting for a table. It’s easy to keep three kids entertained with checkers and toys to look at etc……I could actually come up with more :-)

My family loves to go to Cracker Barrel. Their menu has something to please everyone. Their salads are wonderful. The game on the table keeps the little ones occupied and my girls and I shop before we eat, while we wait for our food and after we are done! They are never in a hurry to see you leave, you are allowed time to sit, talk and enjoy your dinner without feeling like you are being rushed out the door.

And last, but not least, I know that I can find a location just about anywhere in the US when we’re traveling.

Gosh, it’s hard to pick what I like most as there are so many things I like about CB – probably the great atmosphere overall. I can’t help but mention the unique gift shop and let’s certainly not forget about the tasty food! Mmmm good cornbread muffins that warm my soul along with the crackling fireplace. The place just makes me happy!

My favorite thing about cracker barrell isn’t the food. While my brother was in Culinary School he was so busy and Cracker Barrell was one of the few places that offered him a fleixible schedule so that he coult work and go to school at the same time, so when we wanted to see him, we had to go eat at Cracker Barrell. I love my brother so much, so I just have fond memories of seeing him there.

What’s not to love? The food is great, I LOVE the store (especially the mix to make the apple crisp dish) and when traveling you can always find a Cracker Barrel on the road.

One of the great things about Cracker Barrel is they will let you eat off the kid’s menu when you are not that hungry, and those grilled chicken tenders are great!

Just like Jenny, we always feel comfortable bringing our kids to Cracker Barrel. In fact, it is the one restaurant we always stop at for a long break while traveling. The boys love the games and the candy, and us parents love the change of pace of being out of the car for a while. The food is fantastic, too.

I love that no matter where I find a Cracker Barrell, it always feels like home. I’m from Tennessee and travel a lot, so I always look for the Cracker Barrell sign. I almost always get the same thing; chicken tenderloins, mashed potatoes, pinto beans and collard greens. However, my husband is very disappointed that you stopped doing the peanut butter pie.

I LOVE Cracker Barrel!!! I don’t know if I can name my favorite thing. I think my favorite thing is just that it feels like home. Living away from my family is tough, but my family loves to go to CB, so going there where I live now makes me feel close to them. I also love the retail side of CB – oh, but I do love the food too – the homestyle chicken and the chicken and rice are my faves…oh, and I don’t forget the coca cola cake!!!

I Love Cracker Barrel. I am a facebook fan of cracker barrel and southern savers. I don’t just like them both I love them. I love my local cracker barrel store. I love the southern country cooking the relaxing rocking chairs, browsing around their cookbook stand, the kids love the old country store candy which we always bring home after we’ve ate. We also love challenging each other to checkers and the triangle wooden peg game.

Cracker Barrel was the chosen place for a 20 year old friendship to be re-kindled this summer. After nearly 13 years of not seeing each other (9 of those not communicating) :'(, we met our dear old friends and their children on the front porch. We had never met their children 13 and 10 and ours are now nearly grown. We ate, talked and caught up like it was 1991 again. This was the perfect COMFORTABLE, CASUAL restaurant to meet at and one of the highlights of my vacation back to my hometown. If won, this would NOT be kept by me! I would most definitely have it sent to my dear friend who is bravely battling breast cancer for the 3rd time in 6 years. We’re in SC and they’re in FL. We pray, call and send cards, but other than that feel helpless. What a neat way to remember our July reunion by giving them this gift.
The thing I like the most about Cracker Barrel is visiting when there is a real fire in the fireplace and being able to warm myself for a few seconds before heading to my table for a homecooked breakfast!

My little brother is a Marine and any time he gets to come home he always wants to eat at Cracker Barrel. When he was in Iraq and Afghanastan he would write home and say he would say the food wasn’t too bad but it wasn’t Cracker Barrel. I have always went to Cracker barrel since I was a little kid so I love me some Cracker Barrel my husband on the other hand had never eaten at one before so when we were on our honeymoon we decided to eat there before we went to the hotel in Daytona Beach FL so now every year on our anniversary we make sure that’s where we eat at. He now loves Cracker Barrel so we go a lot more often.

What I love most about Cracker Barrel? Wow . . . that’s a hard one. From the friendly staff, to the kerosene lanterns flickering on the tables in the evenings, to the roaring fire in the fireplace on those brisk fall and winter days. I love the quiet chatter of families sharing a meal together, and the delicious, home-cooked food. I love the guilty pleasure of buying a Yankee candle and some sugar stick candy in the gift shop, and the little traffic light over the bathroom door. Just a great, all-around experience.

I love Cracker Barrel because of the memories I have made there. My mom and I ate there every Thursday when I was a teenager so we could have girl time. Now, my husband and our 4 boys go eat there once a month and love to stop on our road trips. We have shared lots of laughs and conversations around the lamp light. Love it!!
Cracker Barrel is fun! Kids can have a favorites meal and the candy store is the motivation for being good during dinner. I think it does challenge us share more at the table just by all the items on the walls or the games on the tables!

What I like most about Cracker Barrel is how happy my husband gets when we go there to eat. He smiles so big! He always has country ham or chicken ‘n dumplings, things this midwest girl does not make at home. Also he has to by a toy that reminds him of his childhood, the latest being the handheld helicopter that spins around your head. These toys thrill my two boys as well! Its a great family outing!

We love Cracker Barrel! The best thing about Cracker Barrel is it reminds my family ties and the roots of good American home cooking. The prices for breakfast and dinner are great. My favorite thing about Cracker Barrel is the meatloaf… and hashbrown casserole!! The meatloaf is just like Mom used to make. I jokingly refer to it as the “Barrel of Crack”, however, since I believe crack to be the main ingredient in the meatloaf, as it’s definitely addictive!!!

Crackle Barrel is a family place to me. Growing up my large family’s favorite restaurant was always Crackle Barrel. We would eat a delicious meal, wander around the store, then we would all be allowed to choose out our favorite flavor of stick candy and my Dad would buy a whole bunch of them. We would all wander outside and line up in the rocking chairs in a long line, eating our candy. We have several family pictures of that long line of kids in the rockers. I love those memories so much. I have started to share Cracker Barrel times with my new family (my husband) and we have had several wonderful dates at the old country store.

The food is always good, if there is a wait we can play checkers with our daughter or browse through all the great stuff in the store. The food is usually quick to the table, and our daughter loves playing the game they have on the table ( so much so we had to buy her a similar game when we were on vacation). I love the buckeyes!!! Dont know many people that don’t love peanut butter and chocolate though.

There’s nothing like sitting where you can you see that wonderful fire in the fireplace during the winter. Except maybe just window shopping in the store while you wait for your table. Fun times!

What I love about Cracker Barrell… what don’t I like is the question. I love that my kids feel comfortable there…. they love the GRILLED chicken and green beans….they think its cool to shop while you wait for food..or challenge Daddy to the triangel game at the table. Where else can you get cool presents for everyone and a clearance section to boot. And they you have all the old timey candies you can’t get anywhere else..love love love it when we travel all the way to kansas its a great place to get out and stretch your legs

Eating at Cracker Barrel reminds me of visiting my Mamaw’s house when I was growing up. There was always a wonderful country style meal on the table, made from scratch. I recognize a lot of the wall decor because my grandparents owned a store in the 60’s and they had many of the same signs and advertisements there, as well as many of the brands of “penny candy” that the Cracker Barrel store has. My Papaw was also a farmer so many of the implements are familiar. Each visit is a trip down memory lane and gives me a chance to remember those wonderful times!

The Country Store has items that I loved as a child and that bring back happy memories each time I see and purchase them today, many years later. I am originally from New England and now live in Florida and have travelled up and down the Eastern Seaboard countless numbers of times in my lifetime and have always eaten at Cracker Barrel Restaurants. when travelling. I have a best friend who lives 2 hours away from my parents home (6hrs away from me). We have a tradition of meeting at a Cracker Barrel that is a one hour drive for her and a one hour drive from my parents several times a year. We meet for lunch and sit for 2 or 3 hours visiting, then we shop, then we go sit on the rockers outside to visit for another hour or two before we say goodbye! We love the food, the old time atmosphere, the candy, the holiday decor, and the rockers.

Our family tradition is to eat at Cracker Barrel ONLY during road trips. Kids love the break and mom loves the food is more “home-cooked” than fast food. We have eaten there BLD during one trip and the kids STILL ask for it when we are home.

I love Cracker Barrel because it reminds me of an old country home. The food is wonderful and filling and the gift shop is reasonably priced and always has the best selection. One time, I even bought my daughters a whole new comforter set and the matching decorations to go with it at the gift shop. I love everything you all have, from the walk in fireplace, to all of the retro decor, to the porch rockers and I even own a full size checker board with checkers that I bought from there. I love you Cracker Barrel.

I always love the oatmeal with raisins and that fancy little glass bottle of syrup they give you to sweeten it up if you ask for it. The oatmeal can be replicated, but that syrup puts all others to shame!

Oh my goodness, what do you not love the most at Cracker Barrel?? Fried Chicken Sundays after church, front porch sales. You can find a gift there for the person that has everything. I enjoy the homestyle cooking in an atmosphere that is comforting and familiar — reminescent of childhood in many ways.
i call myself a ” barrel girl ” from way back! since the late 70’s i have been dining at the down home family friendly restaurant. now my own family loves it too. it’s also been a treat for my girlfriends and i to lunch and shop, even had some business meetings, birthday celebrations and take mom out to dinner. the folks at the barrel are my kind of people, not to mention the homemade biscuits are over the top! yum! yum!

Love is an understatement for how I feel about the homestyle chicken! It’s only served on Sunday’s, and it’s delicious, crispy, boneless fried chicken. I have introduced my Mother and Sister to this dish and even though we all live in different cities, we all love eating at Cracker Barrel on Sunday’s just to have the homestyle chicken, afterwards we call each other just to rub it in a little bit that we went to Cracker Barrel that day. Nothing wrong with a little sister rivalry, right? :)

Cracker Barrel reminds me of my childhood! I grew up going to the Cracker Barrel for brunch every week with my family. My older brother and I would play checkers and he would always win. I looked forward to getting to buy an Orange Creamiscle Soda with my spending money before we left. Most of all I always loved the doll and candy sections in their stores, heck what little girl wouldnt!!!

My favorite part of the Cracker Barrel is the food. The chicken and dumplings taste just like I remember my grandmaw fixing. The Hashbrown casarole is the best. I could go on and on. It doesn’t seem to matter which Cracker Barrel you go into, it all feels the same. Feels like you are going “home” to eat some good old time cooking. I love Cracker Barrell’s Hash Brown Casserole!!! Yum!
Every time we pass a Cracker Barrel billboard while traveling, all I can think of is CORNBREAD MUFFINS!! And we passed a LOT of Cracker Barrels between SC and NY! I also love the old-fashioned feel of the store and how they sell toys and candy from the good ole’ days. My son had a tiny Pokey figure that he LOVED, and we’d been searching all over the place for a Gumby. While on vacation, we happened to find the large Gumby and Pokey figures at a Cracker Barrel, so my 4 year-old was ecstatic!

Cracker Barrel is special to me…it’s where my best buddy and I meet every few weeks to catch up over breakfast and it is always YUMMY!
Both of our kids have “cold weather” birthdays. We like to let them go in to school late on their birthday mornings and take them to Cracker Barrel for breadfast in front of the fire! Makes for a great tradition!
Seriously a huge fan of Cracker Barrel. It is like it’s a part of the family. When I was younger, we would head out on a road trip. Destination: Cracker Barrel, 2nd destination: g-ma’s house, or out of town wedding, or vacation. But first on the list was always Cracker Barrel. In fact, my husband and I are taking his 92 year old grandmother there for dinner tonight. Of all of the restaurants in Charlotte, that was her choice!
I love Cracker Barrel because it has always been a place my family can come together and have a great meal. The atmosphere is perfect and it’s one restaurant that makes waiting for a table fun. Never had a bad experience and love the cornbread muffins, little bottles of maple syrup and delicious gravy.

I like the Cracker Barrel year round but I LOVE it during the fall and winter! The smell, the warmth of the fireplace, the store with all of the decorations for the holidays, and the food of course all make it feel so home-like and cozy. It’s nostalgic and a great place to relax during a day of shopping.
I love the breakfast casserole – when we travel we always stop at Cracker Barrel for a great breakfast. I also love the general store – I pick up a Christmas ornament yearly to add to my collection on our Christmas tree.

Great place to take the family after a busy day at work. We usually fill the largest table you have with our group.

I love the checkers to entertain kiddos while waiting for our food. Not that we usually have to wait long though-which is another thing I like about CB. Service is always excellent.
I like everything about cracker barrel! For one thing its a nice place to stop on trips not only for great food, but for the books on cd. My kids love the food (as do I) and we are always at home there. But I guess the main thing I like about Cracker Barrel is it reminds me of my grandfather who passed away this past February. He loved Cracker Barrel and always took me there to eat ever since I was a little girl. Which is probably why I love it so much and enjoy taking my kids there so much.

cracker barrel has the best veggie plate hands down. i work night shift 7p-7a and we order from cracker barrel several times a month. love to go pick up our yummy southern comfort food and get to shop while i wait at the same time

We love the stone fireplace, even in the summer. The atmosphere reminds us of what is important- family. My boyfriend and I meet for lunch at Cracker Barrel a few times a week depending on our schedules.
Love the “down home” feel with pix, fireplace and furnishings. Great southern food and great prices. Also the gift shop is a particular favorite and the kids love the games. Simple pleasures…we just love Cracker Barrel!

The food is really good. It reminds me of food my mother used to cook when I was a child. The staff is very friendly and last but not least, if you’re looking for a unique, one of a kind gift you have to shop in the gift store.
I love everything from the soups, salads, Beans ‘n Greens, grilled meatloaf and the biscuits are to die for. Also the best Sweet Tea anywhere.

Cracker Barrel is my families favorite place to go out to eat. Every Sunday, we meet up there after church to shop and have a great meal. The atmosphere makes for a great family meal.

I LOVE THE SOUTHERN STYLE COOKING AT CRACKER BARREL. I ESPECIALLY LOVE THE RASPBERRY LEMONADE AND THE LEMON PEPPERED TROUT.
