We had a great trip to Bi-Lo this week! I went in planning on getting maybe 10 different deals, and left with a lot of unadvertised deals! We found clearance toilet paper (same deal as 3 months ago) and saved 50% off Charmin 16 double roll packs. This is a favorite brand in our house, so I grabbed all that the buggy could hold, which sadly wasn’t much since it was near the end of the shopping trip.
I didn’t have coupons for the toilet paper with me, or a few of the other clearance items. If that happens to you, don’t panic. Just go home, cut out the coupons and bring them with you (and your receipt) the next time you shop. Stores will give you the difference back on your card or in the form of a store gift card. As long as the coupons aren’t expired, they don’t mind. This saves me from feeling any guilt over not cutting all the coupons and taking a binder into the store. I don’t have to spend hours on end cutting coupons and I can still get all the deals!
Bi-Lo Totals:
Total Purchase Value: $281.47
Total Spent: $101.10
Total Saved: $170.37
Half of our purchase amount was a $50 Shell Gas station gift card. I used the coupon in the Publix weekly ad to get $10 off any $50 gift card. I would much rather use these at Bi-Lo since I also earn Fuelperks on the gift card purchase! Taking out the gas card purchase, since that doesn’t really come out of my grocery budget, we spent right on budget at $51.10!!
The next two weeks will be very slow for grocery deals, so I want to challenge you to try to eat from your pantry. Take a few weeks off from heavy couponing and rest up for the big rush of coupons that will come out the first Sunday in 2016. There will be some great deals on items for Christmas dinner, but not much else.
