I went a little overboard this week on clearance deals at Bi-Lo… our budget is $50 per week but we spent $75. We save over $188 though…
Before I share everything let me just say this, a deal isn’t a deal if you don’t have the money for it. We could have spent a lot more above our budget but I stopped there. It’s great to get things you’ll need on super good prices but you don’t need 4 years worth of Balsamic vinegar.
What did we buy…
I found a few different Dole Salads on BOGO with $1 reduced stickers on the front and a $1 coupon dispenser on the door! It meant completely free salad! Even if it goes bad before we eat it, our chickens will love it! Nice to be able to share the deals with farm animals every now and then.
They also had all of their trick-or-treat candy on 90% off clearance so paying $1 for a huge bag of snickers was wonderful (and off set by the salad health wise right?) The bulk of our money was spent on meat ($18 for two roasts and pork chops all on markdown). Everything else was reduced yogurt, milk and butter. I’m trying new Fairlife Milk for Mary as it has more calcium and protein than regular milk and she needs a ton of both to help her bone to continue to regrow. That was on sale for $3 a bottle (comes out to about $5 a gallon since they are smaller bottles). I’ll gladly splurge if it will help!
We got probably 15 containers of yogurt for all less then 50¢ each. Sadly though that will only last maybe 3 days in our house. I hate the stuff, but the rest of my crew would eat if for every meal if I let them! My goal for the next month is to try my hand at making our own yogurt and see if that saves us money. Anyone tried it? I’d love any tips or great recipes!
Bi-Lo Totals:
Total Purchase Value: $263.35
Total Spent: $74.73
Total Saved: $188.62
Of the crazy amount saved $40.75 was coupons, and all the rest was from store sales and markdowns. I like clearance deals…
