Before I go into our savings, I have some exciting news! Next week I get be a guest on FabLife a daytime talk show hosted by Tyra Banks and Chrissy Teagan. I found out yesterday so it’s kinda a last minute whirlwind but I have a feeling that’s normal for them. We are taping next week in L.A.!! With all the excitement my husband and I decided a splurge was in order and for the first time in two years I got a professional haircut. (To save money my husband cuts my hair and has for years.) As soon as I know when the show airs I share the details with you!!
For our savings (to help make up for the non-budgetted salon visit) I went Publix and Bi-Lo for shopping. Technically we only bought 4 things at Bi-Lo and two of them weren’t for us… but we did go there and shop.
First Bi-Lo since it’s short and sweet.
I went to look for unadvertised deals and left with two deals that I loved. First was free Peter Pan Simply Ground Peanut Butter and the other was clearance Luvs diapers. You’ll find the coupons needed for both deals in the Bi-Lo unadvertised list of deals.
The Luvs diapers are 50% off, plus we have a Publix store coupon this week for $3/2 and current manufacturer coupons. I also had another $5 off $30 purchase coupon. We don’t need size 6 diapers (never have with any of our girls) but our pastor’s wife does. This is a super easy deal to bless someone with!
Total Value Purchased: $57
Total Spent: $17
Total Saved: $40
That means we paid less than the regular price of one pack of diapers for both plus some peanut butter! We also got 10¢ off per gallon of gas in fuelperks.
For Publix I went with a friend to help teach her how to do this couponing thing. It was a treat because I had her cut all the coupons! You can see my shopping list here. Our trip went great, but I think just being organized is the key there. It really isn’t overwhelming or stressful when you walk in with a shopping list and know and the plan!
Total Value Purchased: $118.51
Total Spent: $37.75
Total Saved: $80.76
