We rolled out a few new features to Southern Savers last night that I’m excited to share! Thanks goes to all the folks that send feedback and ideas in email because these were really your ideas.
First, if you make a shopping list and forgot to login before you start working you’ll no longer lose your work. If you weren’t logged in, you’ll be directed to the login page, after you do login your list will magically appear!
Why do you want to login?
- You can save your shopping lists and come back and work on them later. You can also add to them throughout the week as other deals come up (see more on that below).
- When you create a login, you tell the system what stores you shop at and what newspaper you get. Now your shopping list will only show insert coupons that were actually in your paper! This has been out for a while, but for me is my favorite reason to login. No more hunting coupons that you never had in the first place!!
- Telling what stores you shop in tailors the Item Search feature. If you need to know what store has the best deal on Tide detergent the item search will only return the stores you have told it to (rather than sale info for all 32 stores covered on Southern Savers).
The other super fun addition…
You can now add individual deal posts to a shopping list! As more little deals and new coupons pop up through the week you can quickly add those deals to your current shopping list (or make a new one) when you see the deal on Southern Savers. I have wanted this for a long time and adding it last night made me so excited I couldn’t sleep (I probably have issues). This part pairs in with the logging in part. If you aren’t logged in you can’t save any lists so you wouldn’t be able to save these deals…
Other Features To Not Miss
We have an app! Take your shopping lists on the go, use the item search and even use it to help price match deals with online prices in stores like Target and Walmart!
Item Search is also a historical price book. You can put in a date in the past on the item search and see all the past sales on an item over that period of time. Now you can easily tell what a great price is for an item you regularly buy!
This is my savings so far this year…
Track your savings! One perk of being logged in, is the ability to track your savings over time. You will track by store, but also see monthly and yearly totals for all the money your spent/saved. This also works from the app so you can track before you lose the receipt.
Daily Emails to not miss any deal. Don’t be on the dark on awesome new Kraft or Starbucks coupons, get the daily email so you know all the new coupons and deals that are out!
Facebook. Yeah it doesn’t sound like a feature, but I post the top deals there everyday along with helpful videos and other tips. Make sure you have liked and have selected “Following” to seethings in your feed.
