This week I hit Kroger to grab the current Mega Event deals.  It was a fun trip, and we got stocked on a number of things.  I went a bit past our normal 6 week stockpile amount on cereal, but stuck to smaller amounts on everything else.  Really cereal is something that most of us don’t have to get 6 weeks on if you like the big brands, but for me I want to be set on basic items for a few weeks after #4 gets here (think of it like my way of preparing meals early).

Kroger
Total before sales and coupons: $167.10
Total Spent: $61.85
Total Saved: $105.25 or 63%

This was done in two different visits, mostly because of the annoying 2 printable coupons per like item rule.  We have two computers and can legitimately print 4 coupons, but Kroger doesn’t like to be easy.  My non-mega event items were: 3 gallons of milk, heavy cream, and fruit.  I also grabbed two steaks for us to splurge and have a fun labor day dinner.  Some of the milk and cream went to our first attempt at homemade ice cream that was amazing!  We have enough to probably make 2 more batches if you want to stop by for an ice cream social.

If you have never shopped a Kroger Mega Event check out a video I did a while back with tips on mega event shopping.
