April 1st (April Fool’s Day) is a fun day, but people tend to take the pranks a little too far. Harmless April Fool’s pranks that don’t ruin property and don’t hurt feelings are more my speed. Here are 9 harmless pranks that will cause a bit of distress but ultimately no long term harm!
9 Harmless April Fool’s Pranks
Autocorrect their phone
Enter whatever message you want in place of a word they’ll commonly use in text messages.
1. On your friend’s phone, go to Settings > General > Keyboard > Add New Shortcut
2. Change “no” to “pecan pie.”
Now, whenever they type “no,” it will autocorrect to “pecan pie.”
Tin foil their office or desk
Grab (lots) of tin foil and cover all of your coworker’s office equipment in the foil. This is also fun for kids, cover thier bathroom counter, school books or anything else you can find.
Put their stapler in Jell-O
Are you a fan of The Office? Pull a Jim and put their stapler in Jello! If you’re worried about messing up their stapler, seal it in a Ziploc first.
Make a balloon cubicle or doorway
Seal off the opening for the cubicle’s door with saran wrap. Toss in all the balloons that will fit (filled with air, not helium).
You can also do this at home covering a closed door with balloons. Use painters tape to hold them all in until they open their door!
Flip their screen
When your coworker (or spouse) heads to the restroom, flip their screen using display settings so it’s upside down (it’s easy to change back).
For Kids & Family Members
Move While They Sleep
For heavy sleepers, rearrange their furniture, knick knacks or even their blankets while they sleep. When they wake up they’ll scratch their heads figuring out what happened.
Turn Their Juice or Milk Colors
Super easy one, add food coloring to milk, orange juice or any other drink. Tell them you got it straight from a blue cow!
Switch Up The Snacks
Switch out their normal lunch or snacks for silly options (or even healthy ones). Older kids will understand the healthy switch and laugh.
Freeze Their Cereal
After they head to bed, pour a bowl of cereal with milk (or milky water if you don’t want to waste milk) and put the bowl in the freezer. On April Fools, pull out their cereal right before they come in for breakfast!
