The summer is a great time to read no matter your age. For kids summer reading is even more important! Reading challenges them as well as helps them retain skills while school is out.
Plus for your kids, the more they read, they more summer reading rewards they can get!
Check out all the ways your kids can be rewarded for their reading with this list of 2021 Summer Reading Programs. Many of them have sweet rewards and incentives to keep your kids reading!

2021 Summer Reading Programs
Sync
Get two free Audiobooks from Sync for kids 13+ each week throughout the summer. The fun has already started with two offers this week! Once the audiobooks are downloaded they are yours to keep forever.
Half Price Books
Offers kids of all ages a way to earn Bookworm Bucks, good for purchasing books in any Half Price Books store, for reading (15) minutes each day throughout the summer. Program starts June 1st. In 2020 the program went virtual and final details for 2021 haven’t been announced. Check here for updates.
Barnes & Noble
Earn a FREE book from Barnes & Noble after reading (8) books and keeping track of them in a reading log. Program runs through September 18th. Get the reading journal download.
Lifeway
Lifeway Christian Bookstores offer a fun summer reading with free books as prizes. Track your reading and submit your form online. Kids can select from a few different free books.
The 2021 program has not started yet.
TD Bank
Kids in Kindergarten to 5th grade get a big reward with TD Bank! Read 10 books and get $10 put in a new or existing TD Bank Savings account. Limit one $10 reward per child.
This program returns every year and runs 6/1 through 8/31.
Chuck E. Cheese
Earn (10) FREE tokens to Chuck E Cheese each time your child reads for 2 weeks in a row by filling out the form and bringing it in to claim your tokens. There is no limit on rewards! You do need a food purchase to get the tokens, so grab a coke and watch them play.
Pizza Hut Book It Program
Set a reading goal for your child and they earn a free personal pan pizza from Pizza Hut. Enroll online for homeschoolers or through your local school.
Scholastic Summer Challenge
The summer reading program from Scholastic invites kids (ages 4-14) to log minutes spent reading online. The more they read and track, the more online rewards and prizes they unlock. Program runs through September 3rd.
H-E-B Buddy Summer Reading Club
Kids 3-12 years old that live in Texas, H-E-B grocery stores offers a free H-E-B Summer Reading t-shirt. Read 10 books and mail in your reading log. They will mail the shirt back!
Tampa Bay Reading With the Rays
For anyone in the South Florida area, your kids can read with the Tampa Bay Rays and get FREE baseball game tickets and fun prizes. Track their reading and submit your completed tracker by email. Program starts 5/30.
Your Local Library
Don’t ever forget about your local library when it comes to Summer Reading programs. Many offer prizes throughout the summer. While many programs are going virtual this year, don’t forget that your library card can give you free access to thousands of free eBooks and Audiobooks!
