Going Nuts? I can help you understand coupon terms and abbreviations
Home > Giveaway > First of the Month Giveaway: 3 Brother Coupon Printers!
This post may contain affiliate links. Read our disclosure here.
It’s the first of October and you know that means… TONS of new printable coupons. A common question I get is “Are printable coupons really worth it when you consider the cost of ink and paper?”
My answer is that it depends and you want to make sure you find a deal on those things too!
To get you excited about all the new printables on Coupons.com, SmartSource.com, and CouponNetwork.com how about a chance to win one of my all time favorite printers for coupons!
The Brother Mono Laser printer series is a great way to save on ink. It prints only black & white, so the toner cartridges last a really long time. Not only that, but the toner is only about $18-$20 to replace if you wait for a sale.
The printers normally run around $100 each but you can find them on sale for $49-$59 if you watch the sales. I know today it’s on sale at Office Max for $59.
Why do I love this printer so much?
It comes with a toner cartridge that prints 600-700 sheets. After than I can get a refill high yield cartridge for around $18 that prints 1500-2000 sheets! That’s a lot of coupons!!
The Giveaway:
Three readers will each win a Brother HL-2240 Printer.
To Enter:
The (3) winners of this giveaway will be chosen and emailed on Monday 10/3.

I want to enter! I also want to add my own recommendation for Brother printers. I had an early version in the HL line (same line as this one Jenny’s giving away). The thing lasted about 9 years! It just died a few months ago. Never had a problem with it until it died. I don’t think I’ll ever have a non-Brother printer after having such a good experience.

I would LOVE this – between school printing (I am a teacher and have two girls who do a lot of printing) and coupon printing – this would save tons of money!
I would love to win! Thanks for such a great giveaway!
I don’t own a printer so this would be great to have one. Please count me in!
I would love to be entered for one of these printers!
This sounds great.
I need a reliable printer to save, save, save as a true “Southern Saver”.
I would love to win one!
I love Southern Savers printable shopping lists!
This printer is on my Christmas list! Sure would be great early gift so I can start printing coupons for Christmas sales! My printer bit the dust 6 months ago. :-)
Like Southern Savers!
Well I am not 100% sure I am doing this the right way. The instructions on how to enter just say – the (3) winners of this giveaway will be chosen and emailed on Monday 10/3. Am I suppose to share on facebook? I would really like to win so I hope this is right! =)
I have been trying to find a new printer for this very reason! My printer takes forever and my ink is gone so quickly!
Help! I’m spending way too much money for ink and I can’t quit! This printer sounds like my rescue.
The best tip for printing coupons is to set your default printer settings to “low quality” or “draft” and grayscale. When a coupon prints out one to a page, and it is on top, I put the page back in the printer to print the coupon again on the back of the page.
I get coupons in multiples of 2s! If it is a BOGO then you save more ! Try to print only the coupons I know we will use or I can share!
Hey, I really need need this prinI hope I can win and save some $$$
Only print coupons when you need them!
I print as many as possible per page.
Would absolutely love to win this printer, but am not clear on how to enter. Is this post sufficient? Please consider my entry! THANKS!
When I exited and came back, I saw instructions that weren’t there previously (?) The two things I do to help “save” on printables is: (1) to save on paper: I either make sure I select at least three coupons to print (to fill up the page) OR if I don’t fill up a page when printing from a coupon site, I’ll turn the paper around and print coupons off another site; (2) to save on ink: I turn the color feature off (so everything is black and white) and select a lower quality print (they still work at the register but use less ink).
stephanie.schuetter@gmail.com I have started to think about these printers after having to buy ink cartridges every two months. I try to save on ink by using grayscale with fast mode on but sometimes it wont scan at my HT, which means they wont take it if it doesnt scan. KEPPING MY FINGERS CROSSED TO GET ONE!
Please enter me I dont have a printer:-(
Would be great to win!
I am on your website all the time. I didn’t know a printer existed that would print so many pages. I currently use a Kodak and am going through the cartridges. They are very expensive. I would love a chance to win this printer. Thank You!
Once I’ve almost used up a color cartridge (i.e., all the yellow is gone), I keep printing in color so I don’t waste the rest of it. :)
Thanks for the advice! I have been wondering if the printed coupons have been worth it, our espon uses so much ink! Tried going inexpensive with recycled ink but our printer and the recycled cartridges don’t get along! The guy at the ink shop mentioned that the brothers brand was one of the best brands of printers. Will have to keep my eye open for a deal, unless I happen to win one from some sight somewhere….
Please enter me. I would love a new printer.
I would love to win this printer!
Love giveaways! Need a new printer!
One way to save is to reuse the other side at the start of the next month on the ones that might not have gotten used. I really need this ink saving printer, have a wonderful weekend!
I am a teacher so not only do I print coupons, I have to print lots of classroom items. I would love to have this printer!
I’ve been looking for a new printer just this week! Would love to win this one!
Please enter me, I can use this printer. Our printer is always running out of ink and it is so expensive to fill. It is almost more expensive for the toner than the coupons I print.
LOVE your blog and FB page! Thanks for the chance to win! I have always been leary of printed coupons – afraid of wasting ink and then the stores not accepting them!
If only one or two coupons print per page then I clip them and save the rest of the sheet of paper for my list so not to waste it!
Would LOVE to win one of these!!
Jenny, I don’t have a printer (and my work restricts us from downloading the coupon printer) so I am not able to utilize the online coupons that would help me save a TON of money. I have learned great tips from you on this website however I feel I could have major savings if I had a printer. Plus this printer looks GREAT! :)
Love all of the ways to save u share!
I just try to find ink and paper on sale – Also, I recycle my ink cartidges at Office Depot and Staples for extra $$$
Very nice Jenny! You never cease to amaze me. All the best.
Love Southern Savers that gives ALL the great savings for shopping in all areas even printers. Watching the savings.
I print 2 coupons on the same page. I only print the coupon when I know I am going to use it.
If only one coupon prints on the paper, I clip it and use the other half sheet to print more coupons to save on paper.
Only print the ones you know you will use; fit as many as you can on a page; and ALWAYS print in black & white
if the coupon you print doesn’t take up the whole page, flip the paper over and print more
our last printer broke and we can’t yet afford a new one! So please enter me!
My daughter loves to color so I let her color on one side of the paper. When she is tired of her lesser ‘masterpieces’ I print my coupons on the back sides.
i try and print more than one coupon a page and also use the backside of other paper that i don’t need any more.
I would love to win. I always print coupons in black and white to save money
My old, faithful Brother printer just passed away! I would love another one!
I print in black and white and try to print the one that I would use
I would love to win
I always try & cancel my print job if I see that the coupon site prints an add on the bottom, those really eat up a lot of extra ink..
I always try to print more than one coupon to a page. If I don’t have more than one coupon to print I take the page and put it back in and print another coupon on the other side. Not quite as good as getting three to a page but it beats the heck out of one coupon per paper!
Oh, how great that would be!
I love Southern Savers!!! YOU ROCK and make things so much easier!!!!
My money-saving tip is to turn the paper around and print from the other end…maximize the paper!
oh enter me please
I print as many coupons as I can since I have a family of 5 and my husband is the only one able to work. Saving money means a lot to us. I also have to use the printer for my daughter who is homeschooled. The ink I use cost anywhere from $30.00 to $85.00…It is horrible!
I just bought a Dell printer with my new computer and I can’t afford the ink!!!! This printer would be great! I used to refill my cartridges to save money but this one won’t let me… HELP!
Yeah what a awesome giveaway! Thanks for the informative post :)
When you only print one coupon on a page reinsert the paper and use the bottom half to print another. You just have to make sure that the coupon isn’t going to print with an add.
Please enter us in the drawing for the printer. My wife and I print a ton of coupons each week. We don’t go tot the store without them. joseph42681@hotmail.com. Thanks
I ALWAYS turn the pages over and print again if possible! And save my scraps to print on later!
I usually change the instructions on my printer to print in black and white buy sometimes it doesn’t give you the option so it does get expensive to print.
I need this for coupons and homework for the kids
Would love to have laser printer! My tip for saving money is don’t be reckless when printing! Sometimes I get so into printing that I have to pull back and say, “wait a minute, I’m not sure I really WANT this on.” Only print what you can really use — saves money, energy and trees!
Print them all
I could use a new printer. i am always helping out my friends with bargains. Would be put to good use. Thanks for all you do for all of us. I have saved tons of $$$.
I only print the coupons I will use.
only print the coupons you know your going to use!
How I could use a Brother right now!!
First check to makes sure using only black ink, then print first coupon. Cut out and use remaining paper to print next coupon.
One of these printers would make my day! Southern Savers is the best and has saved my over $2000 in the last 6 months and I only plan on becoming more involved as time goes on! Thanks, Southern Savers!!!
Oooh… I’d love to win this. My husband was just fussin’ yesterday about my stack of color printables!
Don’t need this as I bought it over a year ago when Jenny recommended it. Everything she says is true. I bought it in July of 2010. I replaced the cartridge in December of 2010. I bought a replacement in June because I kne w that I was running 27 copies of an 8 page book, plus invitations to the family reunion. I have not yet had to put the 2nd replacement cartridge in!
This is an awesome printer!
I save on printer cartridges by going to the ‘refillable store’ i usually get them for half price and they last almost as long. (color last about 3/4 as long)
Southern Savers is the best coupon blogger out! Thanks .
My $ saving tip for printing coupons is to use the back of the paper for things I don’t need & to turn the paper around if there’s only one coupon that prints so less paper is wasted.
This printer sounds like a great way to save money on printing coupons.
I LOVE this printer. I have one like it and it prints and prints and prints. I especially bought this printer on Jenny’s recommendation when I first started couponing and it has saved me tons of money. My daughter is now married and into couponing and I would love to be able to give this to her. Thanks Jenny
Buy recycled ink cartridges and get free paper from your office supply store rewards program!
I love coupons!
I love coupons!
We keep a cast off office printer just for coupons and do it only in black & white. I also only print coupons I’m SURE I’m going to use, where I am less picky with the coupons I clip.
We keep a cast off office printer just for coupons and do it only in black & white. I also only print coupons I’m SURE I’m going to use, where I am less picky with the coupons I clip.
Always use black ink only and make sure to print 3 coupons per page. This will save on paper.
Always use black ink only and make sure to print 3 coupons per page. This will save on paper.
would love to have this printer!
I save my used paper and flip them over to print coupons. I also buy refilled cartridges at Inkredables and have had a great experience- even printed wedding photos using their cartridges. The cartridges do last longer.
I have a color cartridge that’s empty, so I put that one in when I print my coupons so they print b&w but without the picture.
I print in gray scale, fast print (but cashiers hate that) try to get more than one on the page and//or use the back of the paper.
I print alot of other things and stuff that I no longer need I flip and print coupons on.
Print only in black and white. If it prints with an ad turn it upside down and backwards and print more on the back.
I would love to win a printer for printing coupons. I love to save on ink by printing in black and white, but my current printer is not working. So I really need a new printer!!
My husband would LOVE for me to have my own coupon printer so that I would stop using all the ink on our family/his work printer!!!!
Thanks for the opportunity!
I only print the coupons that I know for sure I will use.
I save money on printing coupons by being very judicious about what I print. I used to print all the ones I thought I would use, now I just print the ones I know I will use and use Jenny’s links if I need one for a particular sale. Thanks Jenny!
I love Southern Savers!
I would really like to win this printer. Moved from the south to New York where Smartsource is not included in the paper and we get a diluted redplum. I totally rely on internet coupons. Have a HP printer that is an ink addict so the only way I can save ink is to only print coupons once per month and have a toss up as to what I will really use. HAte this because sometimes ones I don’t print go onsale later and the qs are no longer available.AAARRG
I would love to win this printer
I don’t print more than I will use. I also order my ink online, which is much cheaper than the stores. My printer is on it’s way out, so this would be so great to win! :)
I recycle paper, like old emails I previously printed, and print coupons on the back.
I use “fast draft” setting for ink to use less and the coupons still work just great
print multiples when possible
Awesome prize, to save $ I only print the ones I will use for the week.
I was just complaining that I need a new printer!!
Southern Savers is my lifeline for couponing!
Southern Savers is changing my way of shopping…be sure to check back daily as things are always being added! Thank you Southern Savers!!!!
I set my printer preferences for ‘fast/economical printing’ to save black ink. I like the empty color cartridge trick from Lov_dew101…must try that!
Coupons, resumes for the job search and kids school projects; I need this printer now!!
Just saw that Amazon has a Brother printer (different model) as their Lightning Deal of the Day today! Been wanting one, so I might finally pull the trigger.
I only print ahead items that I buy regularly or that I know are on the sale cycle at my favorite stores. Then I check for printable Qs for my actual shopping list before walking out the door!
Only print out coupons I will actually use!
Three to a page. Lower the print quality. For those that do print one to a page, I just put the paper back in the printer. Also, I use the backs of junk prints.
My money saving tip for printing coupons has been to load up on my HP ink double packs when Walmart is offering $10 gift cards for each one you buy. It’s like getting one cartridge for free! This would save much more money though!
I only print coupons that I will use, I do not print the ones my family can’t or won’t eat/use.
I recycle ink cartridges, I print on both sides of paper and I use the paper post cutting of the coupons for art projects for my 4 children
I love laser printers. The cost per sheet is so much lower than inkjet. Always print with the lowest/fastest setting such as “draft” to save even more money.
So many resources for printing coupons. It would be amazing to win one of these!
this is awesome. thanks for the opportunity!
my money saving tip as far as coupons go is only print the ones you think you’ll use. i know this counter coupon culture but if i miss deals on items i rarely but it’s ok.
I have wanted to print more coupons from the web, but hated the cost of replacing the ink cartridges. With this printer, I wouldn’t have to worry. What a great deal.
I need a decent printer! Great contest!
I would love to win this!!
I print out a coupon…cut it out…stick the rest of the plain paper back in so I use the entire sheet of paper.
I use only black and white ink, and the “draft” setting, it uses less ink, but the barcodes still scan.
Trying to only print high value coupons not the ones that I have already received from the newspapers
Thanks for the chance to win this printer. I could use one that’s more efficient than the one I currently have.
I really enjoy your blog and all the ways you help others through your teaching of coupon usage…the correct way :) I look forward to each morning to see what new deals you have posted. Thanks for all you do. :)
This is an awesome printer I have one that I use for coupons and my husband likes it so much he would love one to use to print out his Sunday sermons. Great printer!!!!
I make sure I choose my coupons carefully and only print out the ones that I really need and will use.
Print as many coupons on a single piece of paper as possible to save on paper and print in black and white
Recycle, recycle, recycle! I print on the backside of used paper, and being a homeschool family, we always have plenty lying around.
I love the printables! It makes finding the exact coupon so easy. Thanks!
Watch for high value coupons and 10/10 sales :)
i am in desperate need of this! i seem to go through our very expensive ink in a matter of weeks!i would love to have this printer for my coupons
My tips for printing coupons:
– I use every inch of paper! If I print only one or two coupons on one sheet of paper, I flip it over and put the blank end back in and print a single coupon on that end. If the edge is too small to fit a coupon, I cut it off and leave it next to the computer to write down notes or deals I want to remember.
– if I am printing a single coupon and a huge banner or ad starts to print after it I hit cancel on my printer to save ink!
I print my coupons on the tops and bottoms of the paper. I try to only print the ones that I will use within the next week. I also buy the larger ink cartridge because the price per sheet is lower.
It would be nice to have a printer just for couponing.
My current printer is so expensive to use for coupons. I would love to have this printer.
I only print in black and white. Who needs a picture anyway? My printer died. I need a new one!
When new coupons are available, i only print the coupons I know I will use and I try to print as many per page as possible. If something is on sale and there is a good coupon, the I will print that coupon. This Brother printer is a great way to economically print coupons!
What a deal!
Having one of these would be great!
recycled paper and ink. Print only the coupons you will use before the expiration date unless you belong to a coupon swap group.
Hello, how do I find a replacement toner for this printer for $18? That seems like an incredibly low price. If anyone has any ideas, please let me know. Thanks!
Love your site nd I would love a printer that saved me money on ink
Would love to win this printer!
don’t print the coupons of stuff that you know you definitely will never use or never find a sale good enough on.
it would be nice to have a printer for just couponing
When a coupon prints at just the top of the page, flip it over and print your second coupon on the other side
My money saving tip for printing coupons is to first to understand the coupon and to know how your going to use it.. I don’t like throwing away a bunch of printed out coupons its a waste of ink and paper!!
michelledcrosson@aol.com
My money saving tip is to make sure you have your printer set on black and white draft instead of high quality and I also reuse paper. If I have a page that only has one coupon, I reuse the page that’s left.
I try to fit as many coupons on piece of paper and I don’t print a coupon unless I know there is a really good chance I will use it.
I buy paper whenever I can find a free deal on it. I got free paper at Staples just yesterday!
Amazing giveaway! I am trying to talk myself out of buying one!
Would love to have this printer I print so many coupons and am not saving anything with the cost of the Ink for mine.It is used
My hubby buys the refill kits on ebay and that has saved us some money.Cause we both love to print coupons.
Printing on both sides of the paper! Can’t waste the paper only printing on one side!
The best way to save is to buy the paper for a penny at the back the school sales, the ink and the printer on sale.
I try to use paper as much as possivle, it drives me up the wall when one coupon prints per page! I just reinsert the paper a new direction!
Scale that baby to half size when you print it and print double the coupons on one page! Select “economy printing” option and let ‘er rip!
Thank You for all you do for us, would love to win this printer since mine has about had it, lol. Thanks again.
Put the printer on quick, not high quality/resolution printing.
Likey!
love couponing
I only print in black and white
This would be the perfect printer to fit in my new desk and by all the posts it sounds like it is one of the best ones out. I would love to have this printer.
I only print the ones it will use. I also use the back side of already printed on paper.
I love Southern Savers. I used to be coupon snob. Now I am a coupon evangelist.
I try to only print coupons I know I will use. I also snag all the trash paper I can that only has stuff printed on one side ~ then I use the other side for my coupons.
I refill my toner that I get on Amazon for cheap! Also unless it is a HIGH value coupon that I KNOW I will use I don’t print anything until that item goes on sale. Most the time they are still available and then I’m not wasting paper and ink on coupons that expire.
This would be wonderful to have a printter. my tip is pay attention to the cashiers keying and differently know your store policy. i went to bilo and the cashier wouldld not let me use the coupons from walgreens;therefore i didn’t save as much as i could have. thanks
I always print in black in white so I don’t use up my color ink.
Awesome website even though I live in Ohio. Thanks for all you do.
it would be so awesome if i could win!!! :)
My money saving tip for printing coupons is to to print multiple coupons on 1 page with the lowest print quality.
I have a very old Hp, the ink is expensive. I love printables, I use those more than I use the ones in the paper! Would love to win on!
I love Brother printers and I love my printable coupons! Thanks for the giveaways! :)
Great giveaway!!
I use the back of my kids school papers for extra paper and just wait for a good sale on ink and stock up!
Save ink cartridges & turn them in for free paper @ supply store.
I wait until paper is on sale and I stock up on it. That way I don’t have to pay top price for paper to print coupons on. Sometimes I use the backs of pages that I printed for school and no longer need.
would love to win- only tip I have is make sure it’s something i really need & set printer at most economical setting… see I really need it ;)
Would be great to win.
bhofius@gmail.com
my money saving tip is that i do not print coupons that i know ill never use! like the 50 cents off 2 pillsbury products lol!
I would love love to have this printer. Mine has ran out of ink 3 times in the past year and I just dont wanna buy anymore for it. We have 4 people in our household and couponing is a way of life for us. I so need this printer. Thanks Southern Savers for all the information to help us!
i agree – only print what you are going to use…
I just print the coupons I know I will use :)
I actually dont have any method but would love to learn!
Can you get these kind of cartridges refilled at Walgreens? Would love to win this printer, my printers ink cartridges are expensive!

I would love to have this printer. Mine is not working and I am not able to purchase a new one right now. I love couponing!
I keep a spreadsheet of what coupons I have and when the next sale cycle will be – that way I won’t overprint coupons. It drives me crazy to throw away printed coupons…
I didn’t know they existed, as a single mom…. I could sure use that.
I only print the coupons I know I will use.
Would love this! My HP has proven to not be worth printing coupons! Oi-vey! The INK!! :)
PRINT PRINT PRINT SMILE SMILE SMILE
My money saving tip for printing coupons is to print them in draft quality instead of normal or high quality, that uses less toner, in addition, if I only print one coupon on a piece of paper I put it back in the printer in the other direction so I can print another on the other end of the page.
Thanks for the opportunity to win a coupon printer! That would be awesome! It would save even more money! Every penny counts and these days that is essential!
Thanks for all you do Jenny! Your work is appreciated in so many ways, you help so many people!
I try to use as much of my paper as possible , really disslike waste ! I will flip it over or cut the paper , anything to try and use the whole sheet . My printer is old and uses a lot of ink so a new one would help me to save even more !!
Oh my goodness I would love to win one of these! I have been watching the sale ads for a few months now because I plan to buy one when they are $49.99…. they are consistently $59.99 and it’s just hard for me to pay the extra $10 when I know that they have been sold for $49.99 ….
You can adjust the settings in your printer to print only “Greyscale” which is black and white, thereby saving your color cartridges.
I always try to print 3 coupon minimum. LOL Then, if it’s a coupon with “added info” at the bottom of the page, I watch and wait for the coupon to print cancel the print mid way and print another on the back-bottom of that same paper :)
My printer has been acting up so this would be perfect!
I don’t cut internet coupons and if they dont get used and expire I reprint on the back.
To maximize your savings, buy only items that are on sale and that you have coupons on as well.
We LOVE SOUTHERNSAVERS!!
I am currently without a home printer because we had to use ours at our new business! Gotta love being on a budget! But I would only print the coupons I knew I would use! Always reprint on the back of coupons with ads.
1) Only print coupons for products you will use. 2) Print more than one coupon per page (if it prints at the top, just the coupon and no ads, then turn page around and print another one on the bottom) and 3) Adjust settings on your printer to print in grey scale vs. color.
I only print coupons for the things I really need that I can get for almost nothing. Other than that, I dont think it is worth the time, ink and paper.
To save money when printing coupons, be sure to go to your printer settings and change it from “Every day printing” to “Fast Economical Printing”. It REALLY makes your toner last longer!
I use an HP inkjet. To print coupons, be sure to set it to not just grayscale but to grayscale-black ink only.
my tip would be to only print what you are going to use.
I try to only print coupons that I know I would use, I print on the back if I can and I will flip the paper to print on the bottom if there is space.
I love your site, love couponing! I’m a stay at home Mom on a budget so this really makes saving money alot easier and so much fun!
If I only print one coupon out then I will use the other side of the paper for another one that needs to be printed =)
I use scrap paper for printing coupons and try to maximize my paper for those coupons by being sure there’s 3 to a page.
Is this printer made in China?
After printing a coupon, and the coupon only takes up the top portion of the sheet of paper, I put the paper back in to allow more coupons to fill up the remainder of the sheet.
Would love to win this! I only print coupons if I know I will absolutely use it or if it’s high value! The black and white setting is great!
Love Southern Savers!!!! Visit your site daily!!
I love using my coupon binder at the store. It saves me time in preparing for a trip and I’m always prepared for unexpected sales!
I print the coupons that i know i will use and i print the coupons that will double so I can save the most money.
Would love to print lots of coupons…
Getting a laser printer is probably the way to go. I need to get one or better yet win one because my regular printer is using so much ink!!!
I also set my printer to draft & then also print the ones that I know I will use.
Only print coupons you know you will use. I have found myself printing ones I think I will use and they end up expiring before I use them, wasting my ink and paper. :(
I print on one end, then flip the paper around and print another on the other end. Then cut off one coupon and print one on what was the ‘middle’ of the sheet. Would love to have a Brother laser printer! We bought one for our son’s birthday and he loves it. Brother is the best!
I have been wanting one of these for a while. I love love how inexpensive the refills are!!
I save on ink by doing the following: I go to printer settings, then I click on quick draft and I also click on gray scale. This way I don’t use the color ink and I don’t use all of the black ink up by printing.
Love my Brother’s printer. The toner really isn’t out when your computer promts you…just cover the holes with tape and you are good to go for some printing!!
I don’t print the really low value coupons. I would love this printer!
My $ saving tip for printing coupons is wait for your ink to go on sale, set your properties to Black and White, and dont just print one coupon per peice of paper! :)
I don’t cut the coupons until I’m going to use them, so in case I’ve printed one that I don’t end up using, I can use the paper to print a new coupon.
I only print out the coupons I know I’ll use.
When I have printed something that I do not need or am finished with, I put those papers with blank backs in a pile next to my computer. I then use those when I am printing my coupons. I also always switch my printer preferences to black and white AND fast print for more economical use of my ink. Thanks Southern Savers! I would love to win a new MUCH more economical printer for my couponing as mine is really for high gloss flyers and such. :-)
I have a hp photosmart that was a gift from my mom. To save money on printing coupons I put it in grey scale so I only have to buy one black cartridge every month instead of 4.
I print only what I need!
I am new to this couponing thing. I am waiting for your seminar to come where I live so I can learn how to do all this stuff. The printer would really help me get started since I don’t have one. I can’t wait to learn all I can from you. :)
I try to print in groups of three….I could use some more tips!
I use every scrap piece of paper from the single print coupons by reloading a stack in the printer and printing away!
Print coupons on both sides of the paper.
I print in black and white or grayscale only :)
Southern Savers is such a huge help to me as I am just learning about couponing!
I always try to print on two sides of the paper especially when a coupon prints an advertisement after the coupon essentially wasting a half a page of paper!
THis would be great !
I buy recycled ink cartridges, which usually save me around 70%
I print coupons on the backs of old paper that has print on it already.
My printing tip: Many ink cartridges have the ability to be refilled, and several places such as Walgreens, will refill black ink for $10. This saves a lot of money!!
Try to print at least three coupons or a multiple of 3, because sometimes an advertisement will print if the page is not full of coupons .
What a great giveaway! Thanks for all you do and post here for us!!
My money saying tip for printing coupons is to use the lowest quality and fastest print cause it doesn’t use up a lot of ink. Also, print more than one coupon per page to save paper.
One way to save money printing coupons is to use electronic coupons loaded directly to your saver card whenever possible!
I only print coupons that I think I am going to use. I try to get ink when it goes on sale, and I use the backs of papers that my kids have scribbled on or that we don’t need anymore.
I love couponing and great deal!
I flip the paper over to reuse the section that is blank when only one coupon prints! I love Southern Savers!
I try to match up sales to my coupons, and search the web for printable coupons to add to ones I get in the newspaper.
I only print coupons that I know I’m going to use, and when only printing one coupon, I reverse the page and use it to print again.
I’ve been in the printing industry for 30+ years and Brother lasers are definitely on of the best values for home users. If you’re using an ink jet printer, go to eBay and see if there is a CISS (Continuous Ink Supply System) available for your printer. If not and you really want color capability, consider switching to one that allows you to add this option
To save on printing costs, I’ll use the back of “spam faxes” I’ve received, or papers I’ve misprinted, to print my coupons on. If a coupon only prints on a portion of the sheet, I’ll cut the coupon off the sheet straight across and re-use the remainder of the sheet to print another coupon. Or I’ll feed the paper in from the opposite end to fit another coupon on one page. This reduces wasted paper. I also use the scraps of paper from “between” coupons, to jot down lists or other notes. And, of course I always recycle the paper I can’t re-use for something else. When buying ink, I use the MyPoints portal to get points, and I search for coupon codes to save even more.
Hooray! Green printer!
This would be so exciting! I have been wanting to print coupons for awhile and my husband uses the printer for work/school. I could use this printer for coupons only!! ;) What a blessing that would be!
only print the coupons you will use.
I’m able to watch my coupon as it prints out, and if there are ads that start printing after the coupon I hit “cancel.” This way I don’t waste ink on an ad!
I would SO print out more coupons if I had one. I had a Brother printer and LOVED it!
Love, love Southern Savers!! Would love to have a printer! I don’t have one at home so I have to go to my husbands office to print what I need. Lots of times I miss the limited coupons because I can’t make it up there.. :( Hope I win!! Thanks for the give-a-ways!!
I usually only print coupons I know I will use. This not only saves ink, but paper too!
I would love to win this. I don’t even own a printer! My money saving tip to others for coupling is to join a coupon group and my tip for myself is to win a printer so I can print all of these awesome printable coupons. :) thank you for this awesome contest!
I recycle all paper that is blank on the back to print my coupons. I use scraps of paper that still have blank space on the back. I have not purchased any printer paper in over two years.
I print coupons on the back side of old papers
I always used black and white to print and I make sure it is on quick print. Also, if I have a single coupon print in one page, I will flip the paper and use the other part of the paper so it doesn’t go to waste!
I keep all scrap paper to use for printing my coupons and try to only print the ones i will use. Really love this website, has helped my family save alot of money. Thanks Jenny for all you do.
I save all of my son’s papers from his teachers that come home from school and print my coupons on the back of them. I also make sure my printer is on black & white only. I then use the small sections of paper that are left over to write my shopping list on.
i am having so much trouble with my ink printer, would love to transition to a laser printer! yay for this giveaway!
I reuse paper and print in black and white also. I have a Lexmark printer and the ink is expensive for it.
Always wanted a laser printer!! Thanks for the giveaway and all the tips!!
I like saving the bottom half of pages where I only print one coupon so that I can manually feed it in to print another single coupon. That way I waste less paper. :)
RRR: recycle, reuse, repurpose…. flip papers. turn over papers, use unused coupon backs for to do lists or notes, use back side of junk mail, print pdf coupons on b/w, economy, 2 pages on a sheet…
I get my ink cartridges refilled instead of buying new ones and when one coupon prints on a page I flip the page upside down to print another one on the other half of the paper.
I save money by recycling the backs of my sons school work when they would have otherwise been tossed out.
Black and white ink and a cheap laser printer (toner cartridges are only $25 and print about 1000 sheets).
When only one coupon prints on a page I turn that page over and print more on the opposite end of the back. Also, I use my paper with expired coupons (or notebook paper) to print my shopping lists on. Although my computer doesn’t only print in black and white I take the color cartridge out when printing coupons so I can make sure that none of it is used.
I flip the paper over when I only print one coupon so I can use the other end of the page!
I have my ink refilled at Walgreens. It is soo much cheeper than buying new ink!
I would love a printer like this. I only have an inkjet and it doesn’t give me the option to print in black and white for my coupons. This would save a ton of money. Thanks!
I would love this printer, since the printer I have is great for photos and other color items, but the ink is fairly expensive to replace and runs out all the time. I would love to have a printer that I didn’t have to worry about whether or not I could afford to replace the ink.
I try to only print coupons that I know I’ll use.
Only print the coupons you know you will use.
I refill my own cartridges. Make sure to align printer and clean printer head before printing the coupons you plan to use. I will also test to make sure it is printing the coupons properly on coupons I know I won’t use before beginning to print the ones I want to use. I was a bit hesitant to refill my own cartridges at first, but now that I know it works and the coupons print out fine, I have save so much money.
I would love a new printer. HP ink is pretty expensive. Even with printing on fast draft and black and white.
I save money by reusing cutouts from previous prints. If I only need 1 coupon from one site, I reuse the paper for another 1-2 coupons on other sites. Or if a coupon prints with a huge ad on it, I turn the page upside down and flip it over to the other side so I can print my 2nd one.
Would love to win a printer to print great coupons!
Wow! We all know we need more printers in the house :) Hope I win! :) Good luck everybody!!
I print in black and white when possible.
I would love to win this printer! I have an HP printer, and I always dread when the ink runs out! There are seven of us and coupons have helped us SO MUCH! It has changed the way I view retail!
Black and White all the way! Reuse any papers you get from work or school and use the lowest setting on print quality if your printer will allow.
Black and White all the way! Reuse any papers you get from work or school and use the lowest setting on print quality if your printer will allow.
I am with you, Rebecca H! Whenever I print the second copy of the same coupon, I just flip the paper from the first coupon over and put it back in the printer, then it prints the second coupon on the opposite bottom of the first. Then I can fold the paper in half evenly, and cut both coupons out at the same time! :)
only print coupons u know u will use within a month.
I try and only print off coupons for things I know I would use- I don’t just print off every coupon. I also try to reuse paper as much as I can!!!!
I always recycle paper. The cashiers dont seen to care what’s printed on the back of my coupon.
I am just starting out and I havent started printing out yet,So I need some tips :)
Awesome give away!! Thanks.
I’ve recently discovered your web site & I LOVE IT!! Thanks for helping us to save money!! :)
I watch Southern Savers for what printables are available and only print the ones I am positve I will use because my printer drinks ink. Later a good sale comes out on a product that I didn’t print for and all the prints are gone so I lose out.
I reuse paper and also use scrap paper I have around the house .
I use the back of other printouts and only print what I need!
I print coupons on the back of used printer paper.
Fast draft, black inck only, I try to print 3 q’s at once but if not I re-use the nonprinted portion to save on paper :)
I would love to win this printer. We loved our old laser printer…so economical
I print on the quick print setting – saves ink!
I always use the back side of paper in order to recycle, and I always print on “grayscale” to save ink. In addition, I don’t print the coupons unless I am sure I will try and use them. Thanks so much!
I print them at a friend’s house…LOL!
I have my printer on quick print and i flip the paper over so i can print multiple coupons on a single sheet
just use black and white ink i guess
refill and reuse those cartridges! and always use the back side of the paper on those coupons that take one page for one coupon!
Thank you for all you do!
I reuse the back of paper if I don’t use the coupon
I would love this printer!!! I never print coupons off computer because I go through ink so quickly… It really adds up!!!
I would love to have this printer!
I only print coupons that I know that I will use.
When only one coupon prints on the page or in the middle of the page, I make sure to cut up the rest of the page and use it for scratch paper for the kids or for note paper for myself.
just save it to your phone…. No need to print it out
Love the printer giveaways! Thanks, Jenny!
i use recycled paper from my husband’s office, and if i print only one coupon and still have a 1/3 length sheet my printer will still use that too! I’ve also taken the small strips that are about the size of one printed coupon (you know when you print two bricks coupons by flipping the sheet over) and taped them to a longer sheet to print.
I have been dreaming of owning a laser printer for so long!
I only print the ones I know I will use and look for sales on ink refills!
I print on the front and back of the paper, if only one coupon prints. I use blk ink only.
I always make sure my printer is on “economy” printing to save ink!
I could really use a printer for coupons…. :-) awesome giveaway!!!
I use an HP printer to print coupons but have trouble getting my settings to only print in black and white. As a retired educator I am able to make ends meet by couponing. I would love this laser printer!!!!!! Thank you Jenny and Southern Savers for helping me be a successful couponer!!!!!
I would not have to spend $40 for a color ink cartridge (like i did yesterday) to keep my printer running when I mostly use the black ink! I also use fast draft only. But, my OLD printer will not work on black only if the color ink is low. :o( So, regardless of how much I use either, I still have to buy both!
i always try to save ink by not printing coupons that i know later i wont use. And always try to print as much as i can on the paper!
Print sparingly on the draft and black and white settings when I can,
I need this! My printer has started acting up and I missed several good coupons!
Also wanted to say, thanks for putting this blog out there! You have helped me save a ton of money! I never knew you could combine store and mfg coupons until I started following your blog! Really appreciate the effort you put into this to help your readers save!!!
Jenny-let us know when the toner is on sale? Where is best place to buy it?
I only print the coupons I will use. I would LOVE to win this printer! Thank you for the opportunity!
I do paperwork alot for school and sometimes i dont need certain pages so i just use the clean side for printing coupons
Love your site! I check it daily for great deals and coupons! Thanks!
I only print in black and white!
I check the paper and only print the coupons when I am sure that I will be using them. If I just print I may not end up using them.
I print many of my coupons through my Swagbucks coupon link. Not only do I get major coupon redemption in Swagbucks but I am able to use the Swagbucks to purchase giftcards!!! My favorite gift card is the Amazon cards; building those up for Christmas!! My coupon redemption for September was 240 Swagbucks!!
My printer will not let me print in black/gray scale only! UGH! I recycle my inc cartridges @ Staples to get $ rewards towards a new one when I need it, I flip paper over to print more coupons if whole side wasn’t used, I buy paper in bulk when I think it’s @ it’s cheapest!
Print black and white setting. My printer broke and would love to win this!
My money saving tip for printing coupons is: Save your old ink cartridges and turn them in at Staples for $3.00 a piece. Then use the money to buy more ink :)
I make sure the coupon will be worth printing and i bought some paper at a yard sale. It was alittle yellow but for $1 for 500 sheets plus i flip paper around to print on bottom if only print 1 to 2 coupons on other side.
I save ink by setting the preferences on my printer to fast. Also, by printing in Black and white. This means I only need to buy one cartridge more often than the other.
I LOVE THIS SITE!!! Thanks You, Thank You!!!
I haven’t printed any coupons yet. I have been wrestling with my fancy printer/scanner/copier for four days and it doesn’t seem to want to print my coupons. I have been all over my husband to get this fixed, and he can’t seem to figure out why it isn’t working. I told him to find a cheap printer, that I can use just for coupons. He thinks it’s crazy to buy a printer for coupons, but I don’t. LOL I found this site two weeks ago and I love it! Great ideas, great info on sales and coupons, and I can’t wait to get started saving money!
I always make sure my printer is on draft printing to save ink!
I print the coupons I know I can use and get the best deal for the week that I buy groceries.
i only print coupons the day I plan for my trip so that I’m not printing coupons out I don’t need..i may miss a few here or there for waiting but overall it’s worth it to me to save on the extra ink of tons of unused coupons.
Print only the coupons you need.
I only print in black in and a lot of times only one coupon will print on on a sheet of paper so I flip the paper over and get another one to print on there! I also do not print what I know I will not use. Thanks for the AWESOME giveaway! This SAHM of 1 soon to be two could really use this!!! :)
My money saving tip is to try and reuse paper. I find things I printed and don’t need anymore and print my coupons on the back!
I print B&W only, use both sides of the paper and stop the printer as soon as the coupon is done so the ads don’t print too!
I always print in grayscale; I also use the back of already used paper that is no longer needed. If printing on a new piece of paper, then I print on both sides (just at opposite ends) so that I don’t waste the remainder of the piece of paper.
I would love to win this printer; the savings in ink alone would be great for my family of 5:)
Great give away and perfect timing. Our computer crashed last week and we upgraded our windows. Now the printer is so old it is not compatiable. I would love to win this printer. I am having coupon printing withdrawals. :)
I also recycle paper…by not clipping out every coupon I print, I can reuse the whole page when it expires. If I have a lot of blank space on a printed page, and I do need to clip the coupon, I use the remaining blank piece to make my shopping list (and other lists). The paper doesn’t get thrown away until I can’t write on it any more!
I’d love this!
I save as many coupons as I can to my shopper cards, and then print only coupons that I know I’ll use (after doing my weekly menu plan)!
Would love to wind this!!!! Thanks for all the giveaways you do Jenny!!!
Southern Savers……that where I get mine coupons!
I only print the ones that I know I will use, and if your site has linked it with the weekly deals! I also print one side and then flip the paper to print on the back, especially if i am only printing one coupon at a time (i.e., the “bricks” coupons)
Print only in Black and White
I need a printer so I wont have to go to the college to print them! Make a list and stick to the list, go to the register confident, and of you notice you have coupons that are about to expire, ask a family member or friend if the could use it before you throw them away! A coupon shouldn’t be wasted…lol
Print on grayscale and draft setting. I also will use the back side of any scrap paper. I bought the printer on clearance. Turn in my useed ink cartriges to Office Depot for credit.
Thanks for your site. I’ve saved tons since I started following you.
The way I save printing coupons is when I can’t print but one at a time I will flip the paper over and print my second coupon. I use a HP mono ink printer. I would love to have a Brothers printer to go along with my Brothers fax machine. I love Southern Savers, you have saved me a lot of money. Thank you very much
My money-saving tip for printing coupons is to only print those that are high-value or that I know I’ll use.
What a great printer!
I print only in black and white but on fine quality because it’s an inkjet so everything will scan correctly. I have a brother printer now that’s about 7 years old. I would love to get something new.
Print on the “quick/ fast print” setting and only print exactly what you will use.
I hope I win I have never won anything yet and I love to print my coupons and save save save!!!! Thanks for the chance to win!!!!! So excited!
I use my children’s old school work papers to print coupons.
I save all of the flyers that come home from my children’s teachers and print on the back of them. No piece of paper is too small for me to print on!
I use both sides of paper if it does not fill up the page on one side and always print in draft mode to save on ink.
My money saving tip for printing coupons is to print more than one coupon on a page! I also wait for sales to stock up on paper at great prices!
My printer is out of ink and to expensive to replace so I don’t print coupons :(
If a coupon prints only at the top of the page, I re-insert it in the tray upside down so it can print on the other end. Also, always over-ride color and only print black!
One of the best ways I have found is that the coupons that just print one to a page can be turned over to print another coupon on the other side…just be sure to get it turned the correct way so you don’t print them back to back!! : )
self-control — don’t print them just because they’re available — only print if you will really use them :)
I flip my paper over and only print the coupons I know I will use. I would love to get this printer for my sister whose printer has broken.
I work with a charity organization and we have lots of 5k papers, motorcycle ride papers, and flyers left over…I save them and use the backs of them to print my coupons…I set my printer to grayscale so that I don’t use a lot of ink, then I watch ebates stores to order ink when I get a higher % cashback and I use my Office Depot rewards to buy more ink.
Whenever I print my coupons I ALWAYS set my printer to Grayscale instead of Color that way I can save a little, But then I forget to set it back when I need to print someting important,… :)
save the half sheets and print on the back side, for those only one print coupons.
We save all our scrap paper, paper that we print on one side and then don’t need anymore, then I print coupons on the blank side. It is like getting twice the paper!
I make sure to print in draft to save ink and to always print on the top and bottom of the page (especially for Bricks coupons).
Best giveaway yet!!!
I use paper from work that has either had the header printed wrong or that just cannot be used. It is a way for me to save and recycle at the same time :)
I make sure the print setting is on draft so I don’t use as much ink.
I only print the coupons that I know I will most likely use! I would LOVE to win a new effecient printer!!
That’s a great giveaway! I have been thinking about purchasing one of these for a while now. Awesome Jenny!
When I first started out couponing I printed every single coupon I came across. Two packs of paper and 3 ink cartigages later I realized I didn’t use all of them before they expired and I ended up having to just throw the paper in the recycling bin. I now will only print the coupons I know I will use or donate when the item is at its lowest price. It saves so much time and so many trees. But I still sometimes over print just because I can’t pass up a good coupon. :D
Thank you for the chance to win :-)
I recycle my cartridges at Staples & use my rewards to buy more cartridges.
I print on random papers laying around with a blank side. School notices, letters from billers, etc. :)
If I am on a site that has various coupons I try to print in multiples of 3 to make sure I use the whole page.
Thanks for your site. I’m excited about couponing now and looking forward to the savings!
I would love to win this printer. I’m new to couponing (September being my first month doing it) and I’ve saved 64% on groceries thanks to coupons!! So exciting. My birthday is also October 2nd, so this would be a great present. :-)
I use old school work papers to print on the back and I got the free paper from staples!
This sounds like a great printer!! As always Jenny… thanks for sharing!!
I use paper that my kids have colored on and I print my coupons on the other side!
buy brother they have cheap ink
A second printer would be great – it would mean double the coupons!
We only print the coupons that we will use and always use the other 2/3 of the sheet for drawing paper for our kids!
I only print coupons that I know I will use. I also reuse paper as much I can, if ads print on a coupon I flip the paper and use the other side.
I like to print mine at 75% ink so it is still dark enough to scan and the ink lasts a bit longer.
If a sheet prints with only 1 coupon at the top, turn it around and print another one on the bottom. Save the white parts of the paper to write your grocery and to-do lists on!
I turn my paper around and print on the back for one coupon only pages. I also have my printer set on draft to use less ink.
I try to be picky on which coupons I print. I first look to see if I already have the coupon from an insert and what the value is in comparison to the print coupon. It really cuts down on printing out things I don’t need.
I need a new printer this old deskjet HP gots to go!
Would love a new printe!!
I print on grayscale so it only uses black ink, when I can figure out how. Some coupons bypass my settings though, so this would save me tons as I have a top of the line printer and the ink refills cost a ton and it takes 4 of them!
I use any papers that my boys bring home from school that they do not need and print my coupons on thie back of them.
I feel like I am always buying new printer cartridges. I would love to have a laser printer!!
Thank you so much for the giveaway Jenny! I would love the printer, I print a lot of coupons :) I have enjoyed and benefited from your site for a while now, I just love it. Thanks for all you do and offering this great giveaway!
Change your printer to gray scale
If I only print one per page then I make sure to use the back too!
I try to use every last bit of space on my paper to save save save!
You can cover the “eye” on the toner with black electrical tape and get even more “prints” before the toner runs out!
print only in black and white and when i can only print one coupon I use the other end of the sheet to print others from other sites.
My tip, I only print the coupons I know I will use, if I accidentally print a coupon I didn’t intend to print, I leave them at work for other people to use. And I only print with black ink and set my my settings to ‘Toner Save Mode’. Thanks. :)
I try to always print multiple coupons per page and/or print on the back of unneeded papers : )
I print only things i know i use and then if i find a good deal i come back and print.
QUESTION TO JENNY
Where do you get your toner refills at for that price?
I set my printer on the grayscale setting and try to use both ends of the paper when I print coupons. My printer still uses a ton of ink. :(
to help save on paper, I print on draft, b/w only and use both sides of the paper. :) Thanks for the chance to win a new printer. I am new to the coupon savings, only at this for about 6 weeks and I have saved so much money and had a blast doing it!
I love this site! I check it multiple times throughout the day, and you have helped me save so much money and time to feed my family!!
I would love to win the printer! I print a lot of coupons each month!!
A lot of times a site will make you print one coupon at a time, using a whole sheet of paper for one coupon. I like to flip the sheet over and print the next coupon starting at the bottom of the back for the second coupon, as most let you print two. If it only lets me print one (facebook), then I just cut the coupon off and save the other two thirds of the paper to put in and print two coupons from one of the major coupon sites. I also like to use the backs of flyers, junk mail, misprints, etc to print out coupons to save on paper. ;)
Tip – I turn the paper around to print on both ends if I end up only printing out 1 coupon from a coupon site.
Try to save on Ink and paper deals :0)
When printing most anything and definitely printing coupons, I use the FastDraft and black only preferences on the printer.
I always print on the lowest toner setting. It gets me tons more prints.
I only use black ink and print 3 coupons per page. I also use any papers that the kids bring home from school that don’t have to be returned or have important info.
My 5th and 6th graders bring home 10-15 papers from school per week. They are mostly old worksheets and tests and almost always have writing on one side only. I use the blank side to print my coupons on. Works great and I have never had a problem using them.
Thanks for all you do! I would love to have this to stretch my budget even more.
I print black and white and if an ad starts printing after the coupon I hit the cancel button so that it stops printing.
When printing single coupons I re-load the paper so I get 2 prints on 1 page. The results are less wasted paper!
I print coupons in black & white only, saving money on color cartridges. I also print coupons at work….I know this probably isn’t the most politically correct thing to do, but I don’t print tons at work…only whenever there’s a high value coupon that’s released that I know won’t last long.
only print the ones you know you will use.
I happen to have two computers so I’m able to print out 4 coupons for those products I really need. And utilizing them with the Publix BOGO helps us to save a ton of money!
And boy could I use a new printer, even with new ink my coupons don’t come out very bright at all with our old Lexmark printer. Thanks for this great contest!
Print only in draft quality.
Print coupons in gray scale or whatever setting on your printer uses the least amount of ink.
I use the lowest setting on the printer and I only print what I know I will use. Also, I only buy paper when it is on sale.
Only print coupons that you NEED!
I have raved about your blog to anyone who listens. Thank you all for all you do! You help this house stay afloat!
Only print the coupons you know you will use!
I will turn my paper around to get multiple prints and try to print in draft
First, I love Southern Savers, they help me match up my valuable coupons with the best sales. As far as printing them, I have my printer set on ‘draft mode’ and try to print three per page, but if I do only print one, I recycle the bottom part of the paper to use for another coupon.
I try to print as many coupons on one sheet as possible and I only print in black and white. Like others, I was printing every coupon possible and they were expiring before I could use them. Now I print them as I go. Thank you for such a great website and the chance to win a coupon printer!!
My tip is to use the backs of already used paper. If you have some print outs from work that are being recycled – as long as its not confidential, use the back. Its a clean sheet and the store doesn’t care.
I print on both sides of a sheet of paper and print only in black and white
I don’t print every coupon. I don’t always get the highest values/best deals but better than wasting paper/ink on something I never get. I love supersavers!
I go to preferences before I print and set my printer to the fast draft and black and white only options. It saves ink but still produces a scannable coupon.
I usually use the front and back of a page to print multiple coupons on one page. I can print 1 at the top of the front, flip it over, and print one at the bottom of the back. That way, I’m not using a whole sheet per coupon. :)
I reload the paper and print as many coupons on each sheet. I also use the economocal setting. I never have problems with them scanning them so it works just as well.
I only print what is not expiring anytime soon.
I try to only print with black ink and use the paper, after cutting out coupons, for my young kids to draw on.
Printing the coupons that you know you will use!! I also print in black & white only…saves a lot in the ink department!!
Love Southern Savers and would love a new printer! I use the backs of old paper to print coupons!
MY money saving tip for printing coupons is to only print coupons for items you actually purchase. Don’t print every single coupon just because it is available.
Print as “draft” (preferences); print 3 coupons to a page. Use other side of paper when possible.
All my ink in paper double as a business write off as well :)
I use black/white mode on my printer and try to reuse as much paper as I can. I sometimes print on the backside of papers that have been used for other reasons. Helps cut down on paper cost and gets rid of unwanted paper too.
I would love one of these!!!
I clip my coupons and then run the paper back through on the opposite side, utilizing all of the paper with less waste.
I always look for ecoupons first and then print what I need after that!
I print only in black and white and recycle my cartridges at staples! :)
try to use black only and print more than one coupon at a time
I print only the coupons I know I am gonna use.
I reuse scrap pieces of paper to print most of my coupons.
This is so cool!
We use the back of those ads you get in the mail all the time. They print 2 coupons per page so we don’t have to go buy more paper!!
I print coupons in gray scale or black & white to save money. I also buy paper at Staples when it free or nearly free.
I only use black ink and print coupons only as I need them. I found that if I print all of them at the beginning of the month, I don’t use most of them before the expire.
I use an old HP that really sucks up the ink,but I get the cartridges refilled @ Walgreens to save a little.I use old (already printed paper)paper…and use the”whole” sheet…..also I stand over the printer like an ink nazi so I can hurry and press cancel should one of those long ads appear after the coupon prints…of course sometimes the ad prints before the coupon. That’s one of the reasons I’d really like to win.Color wouldn’t matter.I use a color printer now,but always on grayscale
I make sure to only print coupons I KNOW I’m going to use and so as not to waste printer paper, I print three on one page.
Print them in black and white.
I have been looking for a new laser for a while – looks like this would be a great update!
I print only coupons that I will be using ..I file the remaining blank page of the coupon in a file and I use it for writing my grocery list and all the other stuff. Love to win this coupon printer .Thanks for all that you do :)) I have saved a ton every week.
I do what so many ppl do. Print 3 on a page when I can and always use the back when it will only print one. Print on economical setting/black ink only.
print on the back of old school papers or blank pieces of junk mail. It saves on paper.
I set my printer to fast draft and reuse paper as much as possible.
I only print coupons the time that I need them. If I miss a deal then I think that it is something that I didn’t really need.
I always print on fast draft, only in black and white, and use the backs of scrap paper to save money
A friend of mine whose ink can run her easily $100.00 has found it can sometimes be cheaper to go to the library and print on an especially good coupon day. When its the high dollar coupons she doesn’t wait because they go fast, but for others to save on the ink being so expensive she will just print them all at once at the library because in the long run this saves her $$.
Always print black and white which also scans better at checkout,
I try to print my coupons in black and white. Really saves money. Plus the rewards I get from turning in my old cartridges I use to buy more ink. Haven’t spent new money in a while.
I try to print 2 to a page and only print the ones I absolutely know I will use.
Use your child’s extra papers from school with writing on only one side, print in black ink only, and only print what you know you will use! Being a sah mom of 3 and 2 in diapers is costly, so I need to save as much as I can!
And most of the ones I do print I use to buy food and supplies That I donate to the our rehab center That We work at..
To save money on printing I only use the black and white function on my printer (ink is still way too expense on an inject) so maybe my tip should be get a laser!
This would really be a blessing since our budget is limited and the cost of ink is so high!
I would love a new printer!
If Ionly have one coupon to print, I will flip the paper over to print the second copy on the other side. I also use fast draft print option to save ink.
You guys rock! I really could use a new printer!!
Print coupons in black and white only, even if you have a color printer. The color cartridges are always more expensive–save the color ink for more important things.
My money saving tip for printing coupons is to print in only black and white, and find out how your paper prints so when you only get one coupon to print you can flip your paper the way it needs to go and print on the rest of the sheet. That way you don’t waste paper. Also there is usually a way to “lighten” the ink so it doesn’t print as dark or so I have been told.
I try to make sure that I only print the coupons that I will use, plus I use paper that is cheaper than my regular copy paper!
I always print on blank pieces of junk mail to save paper.
I print only the coupons that I will use. I also print in draft mode and re-use the backs of paper that I have printed only one coupon on. I also stop my printer from printing the ads that come with printing some coupons.
I reuse left over paper from one coupon sheets and if it printed an ad I just flip it over! The left overs work for bedding in our Parakeet’s nesting box too :) None of the paper goes to waste, NONE!
Buy a printer that is more economical and useful and i do not waste my paper. I make sure i use all of it and give only the required number of prints i need.
Get all the free paper you can from the office supply stores!!
Would love a new printer! I’m having printer issues right now!
I get my paper free after rebate at Staples!
I only print right before I go to the store so I know that I will use it…I probably miss out on some great deals since printables tend to run out, but to me that is better than throwing out a stack of coupons I have printed that have expired or worse, that I forget I have printed.
I only print in black ink when possible and reuse paper.
Would love to win this!!!! Thanks for the chance!
I always print b&w and I also change the printer settings to print fast quality, so it doesn’t use as much ink.
I am just starting out with coupons..about a month now. I have always been a paper and ink saver. I switch preferences to quick print, black and white only and I use a piece of paper as much as possible by turning it around to print again or turning to the other side. Recently I bought an ink cartridge online and was able to get a recycled cartridge that yeilds twice as much as the “cheaper” cartridge AND I got it very cheap!
I only print what I know I will use, but I do donate my printer cartridges to my daughter’s school where the money they get for them are used to keep costs down so that tuition doesn’t go hope? So that is extra savings for me!
My printer just died! This would be awesome!
I use scrap paper as much as possible and only print out coupons of products that I use often! I love the idea of printing in black and white, I didnt know you could do that!!
Print in draft quality.
Get some really cheap printers with low cost ink refills and print all you need to. Save the more expensive printers for other things you need to print. We got an inexpensive $29 printer just for coupons. Happy couponing!!!!
I flip the page when only using half and reprint another coupon.
always print in black and white!
Only print coupons as you need them
Watch Black Friday sales. We got a whole new printer last year for the same amount of money that one ink refill would have cost.
I try to get as many coupons on one page as I can–sometimes I flip the page upside down and print another coupon at the bottom or when I print a coupon that includes a huge advertisement I turn the page over and print more coupons on the back on the part of the page that has the advertisement.
Would love a new printer to save on ink.
At first I printed every coupon, but now I only print the ones I know I will use. I alsorecycle as much paper as possible by printing on the back & use only black ink.
I bought 2 (one for me, one for my daughter) Brother’s Laser printers last summer (after seeing Jenny’s comments on SS). I did have to put the tape on the scensors, but that was “months” ago and I’m still on my original cartridge. It’s GREAT for couponing!! I have 2 Epson’s that are sitting at home, one being used for my scanner. It costs more in ink refills for them than this printer cost. I used my Office Max rewards and bought cartridge refills for my Brother when I need them.
I print in black and white, on draft setting, and when printing single coupons, I flip the page over to get 2 prints on one page. I really like the idea of using the back of paper that would normally get discarded, especially my kid’s schoolwork, memos, newsletters, etc. What a great idea!
I try to only print the ones I know I’ll use, but if I end up with one I don’t need I’ll find a friend who can use it. :)
oh and ALWAYS print black and white. and when I run out of ink I buy the double pack of black ink. 1 is $14, the double pack is $24 so that saves us a few bucks!
I only print in black and white but it is still costly. This would help greatly.
I only print in greyscale or black and white, since the black ink cart. is cheaper than my color ink cart. :)
I would love a more economical way to print coupons.
I would love to win this…our printer broke!
Thanks for the giveaway!
I print only coupons that I think we will use or ones that I can already use with a sales add ! Would love this printer !
To save money when printing coupons, I try to print in black and I reuse paper. If a coupon only uses the top third or fourth of the sheet, I keep it and use to print another single coupon.
I recycle paper from my kids school, print in blank ink only, andI print only the coupons for products that I use
I would love to get this printer!!!….my other printer went down hard..I have had friends print some for me till I can get a new one…the library here doesn’t allow coupon printing :'(….thanks for offering this!!!
My money saving tip for for printing coupons? WIN a FREE Brother’s Laser Printer from SouthernSavers – and print away!!! :)
I would love to have this printer!
I print more than 1 coupon per sheet of paper.
My money saving tip for printing coupons is to save your old cartridges and turn them in to Staples to get $2.00 for each cartridge in Staples rewards, reuse paper that only has print on half the page, print in black and white, and only print coupons you know your going to use.
I try to print only the ones I know I will use and the ones that will get me the best savings. Ink is expensive!!
I ALWAYS have my printer settings saved on “quick print” & black ink only. Secondly, I conserve paper. I flip paper- cut paper- anything I can to get the most out of my money! Because I tend to print a lot of coupons at home!!! Thank you Jenny!
I set my printer on grayscale and fast. It’s good enough to still be read by the scanners at the stores, but it doesn’t use as much ink. Also, if a coupon prints and then continues to print out a picture/ad, I hit cancel to avoid printing all the extra (unless it has a recipe I want). I’ll then turn the paper over so I can print another coupon on the bottom. That saves paper.
love this site. it saves me soooo much time ;) thanks for all you do.
multiple coupons, per page
If a coupon prints at the top of one side of the paper I’ll flip it over so it prints at the bottom of the other side…This way I can still get two coupons out of a sheet of paper.
I print only the coupons that I am pretty sure I’ll use. At work if the printer spits out a bunch of paper for a bad print job, they set it aside for anyone to take home. It works fine in my printer and saves me from having to purchase so much paper.
who wouldn’t want to win a printer!!!
I print my coupons n black and white on the draft setting to cut ink costs.
I try printing only those coupons which I will use. I use as much of the sheet of paper as I can but I cannot figure out how to make my new printer print in just black and white. When I had another printer I use to get refilled cartriges at a store that only sold refilled cartriges. I also haven’t payed for paper in a long time using the deals at Staples. In fact I am going today for more free paper. Having a printer that only prints in black and white would save me even more and that’s what it is all about!
Southern Savers has helped me cut my grocery bill by more than half. With two kids in college that is such a blessing!!! I have tried to pass it on to friends!!! Thanks Jenny!!
I use half-sheets and backs of scrap paper salvaged from work.
I just bought more ink! I would LOVE something that lasts a long time!
I always buy the printer paper when Staples has an easy rebate.
For now, I use repurposed black ink cartridges only. Have been shopping around for a more efficient printer, though!
My husband and I were given a cheap printer after we got married last year and I have been wearing it out with printable coupons! The only thing that stinks is when printing doubles it locks up a lot and then only lets me print one-which is terrible for a B1G1’s! :( :(
Money saving tip for printing coupons? Well, I only print what I am going to use. I don’t get printer happy and print everything out that I see. Alot of times I will print a coupon then use the same piece of paper by putting it in the printer the opposite way so it prints another coupon on the same page.
I use the computers at my school to print my coupons. It’s free to print as many as I want since it’s covered in my tuition.
Print on both sides of the paper!
Having problems with my current printer, and this would be a great help. Thanks!
I reuse paper and print on the back of papers I’m through with.
I would love to win this printer. I could print more coupons and save money. Who would’nt love that!
Only print in black & white. Use front & back of paper, and use scrap paper too!
My tip is to only print the coupons you will use. I would love to win this printer!
Print on the back of a page with only one coupon or print on used papers.
I print on the back of papers I don’t need anymore, or print both sides with coupons when I can rotate so that they’re being cut from different ends of the page.
wow…what would i do with a new printer? i would miss having to manually feed my printer EACH PIECE OF PAPER. maybe i’ll retract my entry…..LOL
I changed my printer settings to print economy and grayscale to save on toner costs.
Only print the coupons you think you’ll use and print at the toner saving mode.
using recycled paper!
I recycle paper by printing on the back of flyers from school, kids’ worksheets and junk mail.
I need a new printer , mine prints in color and the ink is kilin me!
i print coupons on old computer paper I have saved from the garbage can at work!
Search for store coupon matchups.
I refill my ink cartriges verses buying new ones, and like others, I flip my paper when only using half.
My money saving tip when printing coupons is after the first coupon prints, to put the same paper in backward and upside down to use the back of the paper to print the second coupon. This works well when printing 1 coupon from a site. I save all of the scrap paper after I print(usually 2/3 of the piece of paper) and am able to tape them together and reuse. In our house couponing is VERY economical.
I print only in black and white and if I can I use both sides of the paper. I also only print ones I will use.
Watch closely as they push the coupons through and count them before hand. I got home a few times and found that the coupons were not taken off. :( Also, check your receipts as BOGO aren’t always so. Sometime you can pick up the wrong package and get charged for two instead of BOGO. I got charged $10 for a tomato once instead of a $1. CHECK YOUR RECEIPTS!!!!!!
sounds like alot of savings just using black ink. It be great to win.
I print just the ones I use and wait til a sale starts and use it then, possibly with an in store coupon to get an even better savings! We only print in grey scale and the fastest print job and try to do more then one coupon per page, if possible!
The ink for our printer costs a fortune. I’m careful about what I print. Could use a new printer!
I try to select only the coupons i will use rather than doing the “print all coupons” options
I only print coupons I know I will use.
What a wonderful giveaway! I save money by printing coupons back of page of scrap paper
I try to print coupons on the front and back of paper if they’ll fit.
My money saving tip for printing coupons is to put the ink setting at the lowest setting. That way it’s just enough ink for them to scan it and to see the info. Using less ink means more coupons :-D
I use recycled paper to print coupons when available.
I print on draft and I also take my cartridges and have them refilled and I used a COUPON at the place that refills my cartridges and they take competitor coupons if I don’t have one of theirs to use. Win Win everywhere.
I stop the printer after the coupon prints so that it doesn’t print the advertisment.
Print on the front and back of paper.
I’m a mom of 10 and always looking for ways to save money. Southern Savers has helped so much! I stock up on paper when office depot has a sale on it and they have coupons for $30 off an order of $100 or $125 and free shipping. I usually order for our church (my husband is a pastor) at the same time to make it easier to get the $125. I do what many others do and reuse the bottom of paper that only had one coupon print and I’ll use the backs of color or scribble pages of my childrens :). Thanks for all you do Southern Savers! God Bless!
I changed from an ink jet to a laser printer. I only print in black and white and I buy non-brand name laser cartridges. For paper, I watch the sales at the office supply stores.
I recycle paper….if something prints wrong or just the tail ems of a print job, I turn the page over and print the coupons on the back.
My life has not been the same since I have found Jenny and Southern Savers. Truly a blessing.
Shop early to save.
I print grayscale and use one paper twice for coupons that only print once on the top to save paper and ink. My printer is old school and this would be perfect.
I always try to select black ink only on my printer settings but some coupons won’t allow you to use your printers features and authomatically print in color. I hate that.
This giveaway sparked me to investigate my printer further. I just found out how to change my setting for the printer to only print in grayscale for all coupons now. I just went into the control panel and under printer settings i cahnged it to print everything in grayscale. Now I just need to remember to set the settings back to normal when I need to print something in color.
As with everyone else, I print and flip if I have only 1 coupon to print but I also use the extra clippings to write my grocery lists on!!!
My printer uses so much ink. This one sounds like a winner.Hope to win;)
I’m on disability, so funds are tight after bills. I reuse the paper that come after sending a fax, and only print the immediate coupon going for a couple of weeks and also coincide with any particular sale going on at various stores for additional off and using the coupons. It’s a task but well worth it. Sometimes meat is better at winn Dixie,B1G1 or Frozen vegi’s good at another store, 10 for $10 or hair and bath products at another, it sounds like a lot of work and gas but 1, stores are close enough and 2, I get items that last me the entire month or more. Either way my budget still stays below $200 per month for a family of five. And we eat proper food group, I cook, that saves than going out too often. I also get the Sunday paper and work on the in store bargains along with my coupons.
I don’t have a printer. I have to go and use other peoples, so I don’t print as much as I would like, but I’ve heard that setting your printer to the “draft” setting allows you to get more prints per cartridge because it uses less ink.
I believe the best way to save printing coupons is to set the printer on the lowest quality possible. Also, print only the coupons you are certain you will use.
I print as many coupons on one page as I can. If a coupon just prints at the top of a page. I turn the page over and print another coupon on the bottom. So many sites only print one coupon on a page so this really helps me conserve paper.
I am a father supporting a family of (4) on my firefighter income. Just yesterday we went to the store and purchased over $300.00 dollars worth of groceries been over a month. And only paid $127.59 with all of your help and direction from your site. THANKS!!!! the printer would help with printing coupons in B/W not color as I am now. THANKS AGAIN!!!!!
I ONLY shop clearance racks and never pay more than $15 for anything!
I reuse every blank space i can on paper to save!
Could use a more economical printer for sure :)
I use the junk mail that I get and print on the back of it.
I only print on recycled paper and use the lowest quality setting on my printer.
Reuse the printer paper by cutting out coupons that only take up half a page and putting that excess paper back in the printer! Also look for only black and white toners.
Being a one-income homeschooling family, this would be a great help in learning about saving in our schooling and our family! I would be able to print more coupons than I am now to save more money and could also get the entire family involved!
I try to use both sides of the paper, then use scrap cuttings for note pads…
I print coupons and shopping lists on the back side of paper….old shopping lists, homework papers, etc. We have a basket where I throw paper that has only been printed on one side. That way we use the paper twice. :)
Try and print coupons in groups of 3 to maximize paper usage. If you only need 1 coupon, make sure to turn your paper over and reuse the back (opposite end of the original coupon) for an additional single/double coupon.!
Awesome giveaway!
I have my printer set to only use black ink, and I buy replacement cartridges online at a discount. I buy recycled, multi-purpose paper, and only print coupons for products I will buy and use. Multiple coupons per page when possible. Leftover paper gets bound into notepads to put next to the phone, or for short coupon wish lists when I run out of things.
If only one coupon prints per page, flip the paper over and print some on the opposite side on the back. In addition, I always recycle my paper!
Printing online coupons
please enter me in the contest!! :))
one way I save by printing coupons is I try to find coupons that can print more than on on a page so that you are printing three coupons on the same page…for those that only print one turn your paper around and print on the back so you have two coupons on the same page.
Black ink.
Southern Savers helps save me hundreds a month. Thanks for the opportunity to win the printer.
I save paper and print on the back of it , it save alot of money.
I think you should print only the coupons you think you will use. I used to print a bunch of coupons that I didn’t need and would throw them away when they expired. I realized I was wasting ink and paper, and if there were limited prints I was potentially preventing someone who needed the coupon from getting it. Also, if a coupon only prints on one end of the sheet, turn it around and use the paper for another coupon before clipping them out!
Print on front and back of paper!
I print on both sides of the paper and only in Faster black & white
I use paper from junk mail. The ink for my printer is very expensive.
I print in draft mode on offbrand ink. I also recycle any paper and will use the back of a sheet. I buy paper in bulk at a cheaper rate.
Thanks SS – you are awesome!!
I like to choose draft in your print options to help save $. (It uses less ink)
Since I almost always print 2 copies of the bricks type coupons, I print the second on the back of the first. I also sit by the printer so I can hit cancel after the coupon part is printed if there are big ads at the bottom. Oh, and I have an HP printer and rather then buying new cartridges all the time I bought a refill kit from Staples (with coupons and rewards)- it only takes a few seconds to refill and I can keep using the same cartridge over and over.
My printer just crashed…..can’t afford another one right now so a FREE one would be a true BLESSING!!!! I love my COUPONS!!!!
Only print what i really need and plan to use. However, current printer is broken so i could really use a new one ;)
Love printing coupons and saving!
What is your money saving tip for printing coupons?
Laser, Laser, Laser! Inkjet sucks the savings out of your shopping :)
Have been couponing for a couple of years, only print coupons for what I like and use and always plan ahead when on sale.
Thank you for all that you do! I’m only 3 weeks into coupons and I have already saved over $100! You’re awesome!
I always just print the ones I know I will use and print in only black and white. I always look for special sales on my ink cartridges. I print on the other side of my paper if possible.
would love a coupon printing machine!! :-)
I print multiple coupons on the same sheet of paper. I also recycle paper instead of throwing it away and print on the back of it!
I use scrap paper a lot, like the back sides of things that we don’t need anymore. Hey they take them at the store. As long as it has the bar code on it!
I recently lost my printer, and could really use a new one!
Scrap paper, always! If you can hook up with an office that generates it, you will never have to print on “virgin” paper again.
I have my cartridges refilled instead of buying new! It costs half and after 7 you get one free!!!
I try to only print the coupons I KNOW I will use
I buy an ink refill kit and refill the ink myself!
It looks to me like all the money-saving tips possible have already been posted. Use grayscale, print on both sides, print on scratch paper, etc. All good! Thanks for a great giveaway. I love Rafflecopter!
I only print in black & white and print on my kids completed papers they bring home from school.
We save money printing coupons by recycling paper. I collect paper from work that is only used a small amount on one side and thrown away. You can’t beat FREE paper to print coupons on! And we are saving trees too!
I brought a brothers printer mfc-240c about four years ago becasue I am a teacher and need a printer to print a lot of copies in a short amount of time .This is the best printer because all of the ink for black and color are around 30 buck when order off the internet.I it great with couponing becasue I just set to black and get all the copies I wanted ti print.
I used recycle paper for my husband job so I can save on paper. Also used Staples rewards to by ink; which my husband gets from purchases for his business.
SS makes me smile every day! I flip my paper & avoid printing ads whenever I can. Recycle paper. Also use quick print & black ink. Good luck to everyone!!
refill the ink myself
Earn enough Swagbucks to get GC’s to pay for your ink FREE INK!
i did it
I only print what I am going to use. I print in fast draft with black ink only and use both ends of the paper to print on. With my first grandchild due any minute i will be printing a lot of baby coupons.
I would LOVE to win a Brother HL-2240 Printer so help me save more money printing my coupons to help save for my family of 2 teenagers…really loving your site it has shown me soooo much of how to really coupon & save lots of money!!
Brother is my favorite printer. I bought the 2170 and used it for a couple years before it died. During that time I went through 3+ cases of paper for work and home. It is a GREAT printer.
I sooo need this!
i always try and print three to a page…even if i might not use them i can always take them to a coupon swap and someone else can have them
Only print what I know I will use!
I set my printer to the fast/economy print setting and only print in black and white
My money saving tip for printing is to use both ends of the paper if you’re only printing one. Also use scrap paper!
My money savings tip for printing coupons is to always print in black and white. I also only print what I need. I try to save a little by buying HP ink combo packs, but they’re still super expensive. I’d love to have this laser printer to help save more money!
I print coupons on both sides of the paper.
Would love a new printer. It seems these days its cheaper to buy a new printer than to keep refilling the ink cartridges.
Save money by clipping the single coupons that print and reusing the rest of the paper to print another by using the manual feed slot.
Print backside of old papers, print coupons in multiples of 3 so I get full benefit of a piece of paper, and “flip” the paper around to get a second print if a coupon is only printed at top or bottom of a page.
Besides printing in black and white, join a group/co op and instead of printing multiples of coupons, trade for them!
I print everything in black and white and only print the coupons I know I will used
I print my coupons on the back of scrap pieces of paper, papers my children doodled on, junk mail- as long as they don’t have any personal information on them.
Thanks for the great giveaway- we really need a new printer!! :-)
Laser printers are the best. I’d never buy an inkjet if I didn’t absolutely have to.
Thank for the chance – I have not been printing low value coupons as it does not cover the cost of ink and paper, etc…..
Like others, I turn the paper upside down to get two on the same paper. Also, I went ahead and bought a half case of paper when it was on sale. That way when the kids want paper to draw on I don’t mind them using the printer paper. After reading the comments here, I’m going to see if I can adjust the ink setting on my printer!
I choose the draft mode, black and white ink, and use the back side of the paper if I need too! Thank you SS, you guys ROCK! <3 Couponing! =)
I only print what I will use. Usually I print right before I go shopping to ensure that I use it.
I print in black and white and on the “economy setting” and also print 3 coupons per page whenever possible. I also sometimes use the backside of an expired coupon to print on as well.
Print only in black and white, and only coupons you know you will use.
This printer sounds awesome! My ink cartridges on my Epson printer definitely do not last long enough!
Review all printable coupons and write them down. Then, when a deal becomes available, print the coupon. This prevents you from wasting ink and paper on coupons that you end up not using.
I print on the front and back of each sheet, IF the coupons are laid out in such a way. Example — this weeks Eat at Jack’s coupons, print ‘gravy and biscuit’ coupon–turn sheet over and print another on the reverse side. Coupons do not over-lap
This is a great giveaway!
I only print coupons I know I am going to use. I also use Staples Rewards to purchase paper.
I don’t think I have any new comments to leave, but . . . I print every inch of the paper I can, turn the page to use both the head and foot, front and back. I home school, so sometimes I use paper that my kid used as a worksheet, I print coupons on the back, or research she printed for an assignment she doesn’t need any longer.
I also print on draft quality which saves ink and scans just fine at the stores.
But OH HOW I WOULD LOVE a laser printer!!! That would be even better!!!
Thanks SS for the chance to win one!!!!!!!!!!
Use scratch paper..recycle bin from work..make sure no personal info on it
I like to use “draft” for my selection of ink. it saves ink. also always print in sets of 3.
GREAT idea! Hadn’t thought of that one!
Great giveaway! keeping the cost of printing down just means more savings for us! :) Thank you!!!
I flip the paper over if only one coupon is printed on it. If the One coupon I print, prints a big ad under it (which I hate) I use the back side of that portion to make shopping lists on.
I do exactly the same thing.
I print all coupons in black ink and reuse scrap paper if I can!
I was printing a lot then I tore up printer. When I first started I printed everything, but now when I print it is something I think our family will use. I print in black and white.
I print mutiple coupons on one page and also change the number of pages to print according to how many coupons I need.
LOVE coupons!!!! My daughter and i check for ever night. she is in nursing school so money is VERY tight for her. Coupons have allowed her to have gas money for clinicals.Every penny saved is a blessing.
Print in black & white & flip the paper over when possible…
I used to print all the printables. Now I only print ones that may not be in the circulars OR if there is a product that I know I use. I can’t tell you how many yogurt coupons I have had to discard. There are soooo many of those out there.
I recycle the margins on the papers I printed coupons on and use them as confetti. The kids get a kick out of this!
yay! I would love this!
I print on the backside of recycled office paper and school paper
I always remove the colored ink cartridge to make sure my black ink lasts longer and try to purchase my ink at CVS using dollar off coupons that print at the coupon machine when I need to restock!
My money saving tip – Read the blog! I get so much good info from ya’ll and the resources on this website. I am thankful and grateful for all the effort that goes in to this.
I use the back of other paper and try to only print the coupons I am sure I will use. Plus I never print coupons in color.
I Love Couponing with Southern Savers!
I try to print only in black & white and I use both sides of the paper when possible…
Print in black and white and only the coupons you will use. Try to print 3 at a time so it will use the entire sheet of paper.
Love this printer —it’s great. I would like to replace all my printers with this one.
I would use the printer for dining out and necessities. As a single mom in school full time money is always tight and I like to get certificates from restaurants . Com so once a week my son and I can have a “fun day”
I always flip the paper and reprint my second coupon on the same sheet, that way I save money and keep them organized together! Or I’ll save the 2/3 of paper that is left when only one coupon is on the sheet and I reinsert it to print more. Always use “Fast” quality since it uses the least ink and watch for the great paper deals.
I bring home perfectly fine paper that was going to be shredded at work and use the other side for my coupons. If I see a coupon has an add at the end, I’ll cancel the printing right after the coupon is printed so it doesn’t waste ink on another add.
Thanks Southern Savers!!!
I always use fast printing so that it uses less ink.
I purchase ink on sale and only print in black.
Use backside of coversheets that print at work for my coupon printing so I never have to buy paper
I print on the front and the back of paper to save ink. I also only print coupons that I know I will use.
Money saving tip… Print coupons you know you will use, ask yourself, is this something i will use, or will donate. If not dont print it. !! Recycle your paper, printing in 3’s, use both sides of paper. Also dont let your 2 year old have access to the printer! lol My little guy some how got in my office and went printer happy making copies!! Oh the Joy!! lol :)
Oooh, how fun! I’m just getting into couponing, this would help out a lot!
This would be great, as my printer died. :-(
for starters, flip the paper and print another coupon on the backside at the other end. If the middle of the page is still blank, you can trim off one coupon and reinsert it into your printer for another coupon in the middle. It doesn’t matter what is on the backside. Also, if you have several sheets of paper with a coupon printed at each end, these are great for printing Target coupons because if you print one Target coupon at a time, it will print in the center.
I always save the rest of the page when only 1 coupon prints on a page so I can print at least 2 more on it.
I change my printer settings to fast draft so it still prints clearly but doesn’t waste a ton of ink on high quality, I also put the paper back in flipped over and around so it can fill up the other end with a coupon as well!
Win a laser printer and save lots of money!! :)
I only print in blk/white, and I change the setting to print FastDraft.
I print in black and white only on fast draft. I print coupons on every inch of paper I can. Most importantly, though, I only print coupons for products I will actually use.
Only print the coupons you need and know will be able to get out and use.
Print in black and white on the economy setting and always try to print enough to fill the page. Fingers crossed, I hope I win =) I’m new to couponing and I love it!
I only print what I know I will use and can’t get elsewhere.
I’ve had a few different brands of printers, so far, Brother has been the best. I use a Brother at work that we have had for over 7 years, and it still prints/works great!
I have battled this for a while now and bought a cheaper printer because of it. I would end up with tons of expired printed coupons and really became discouraged. Now I only print items I use and will use a coupon on regardless if there is a sale. If a sale comes before expiration, great. If not, I will buy with a coupon and save “something”. With the paper, I have learned to cut the coupon off and insert the sheet back into the printer.
I try to print on both sides of paper when possible to cut down on the waste.
Thank you for the giveaway!
Bring your old ink cartridges in to staples when you buy a new one and get an extra 2 dollars off this week.
use recycled paper
I print on the back of paper that has already been printed on.
I try to only print what I know we will use or if you say it’ll be a money maker! Keep my ink set to the lowest settings too.
I only print in black and white and always make sure I print 3 coupons per page, when possible, to save paper.
When printing coupons I always try to print more than one to a page. If that’s not possible and only one can be printed at a time, I turn the page over and print another coupon on it. If I unintentionally let a printed coupon expire, I will mark through it and print again on that same piece of paper
i always get my sister to print them out also for me! It cuts down on my ink alittle. In the end I do think its worth the effort.
I donot use high quality setting and always flip my paper over to use the other end
wow like this printer
I use the front & back of recycled paper, only print in blck & then shred the usnued coupons for my compost pile
Yay!! Just what I need. I have needed a printer for a while now. I hate seeing how many awesome printable coupons there are and not being able to print them! Best Giveaway yet IMO.
I take my empty cartridges to Staples for recycling, and as payment, their Staples Rewards program sends me coupons for $$ off my next purchase. Usually several dollars per month. This helps pay for my new cartridges, which I purchase on sale while using one of the many coupons that Staples sends to members of it’s free Rewards program. The program saves me LOTS!
I print three coupons to a page, stack them up and cut them at the same time to save time.
so great to print b/w only
I print out all of the coupons that I may use, even if the need is not immediate or non-existent at the time of printing, but I do not cut them out until I need them. If the sheet is still intact after all 3 (always print in 3s!) have expired, I print a new batch on the other side. I use a colored pen to mark a big x on the expired side so I don’t have to think about which coupons may still be valid.
I do try to print only the coupons I will use and always flip the paper over. I hit cancel on the brinks coupons to keep the big ink wasting ads from printing. If only one coupon prints on a page just cut it off and use the rest of it for another single you might find. My HP printer is on its last leg. It clunks and gets hung up and makes all kind of noise now. I wonder how much longer it will work every time I use it : ) Thanks to Southern Savers I save a lot of money!

i would love to win this printer!!
i would love to win this printer!!
If I don’t use a full-sheet, I flip the page so I can squeeze one more in at the bottom. I also refill cartridges rather than buy new ones (cheaper and greener). And currently I don’t do any of this since I haven’t been able to print anything for two weeks thanks to a busted printer. This would be fantastic.
I sreach with many different ziP codes to find coupons. I print only ones I know I would really use. And always pick up paper and ink when they go on sale.
I print more than 1 on each page and use front and back when I can… This is a great printer and I could put it to great use!
My tip is after I cut out the coupon, I still use the same sheet to print additional coupons or flip the paper over and use the clean half to print additional coupons.
would love a new printer. I use grayscale setting and refill my ink cartridges at walgreens.
I use both sides and flip it over to print another coupon. Love the printer!
I always turn the paper over and use it again. As far as ink, I take my black cartridge to Walgreens to have it refilled and use RR’s to pay for it.
I always turn the paper over and use it again. As far as ink, I take my black cartridge to Walgreens to have it refilled and use RR’s to pay for it.
If coupons just print at the top of page then flip the page over in the printer for double use.
I print only the coupons I know I will use or one that I think I may use.
I only print coupons in black and white and always turn and flip paper to get as many coupons as I can on one sheet of paper!
I only print the ones I know I will use.
I’m having printer issues too and could really use a new one! I haven’t been able to print my coupons for a month now and I”m really missing out :-(
Laser printers are much cheaper and faster to use for coupons and any other non-coor printing.
A high yield cartridge that prints 1500-2000? OMG the damage I could do with that!!
I only print the coupons I will use:0)
You should print in grayscale, print multiple coupons on one page (some coupons print only on the top, middle, etc.), and always recycle your clipping extras. I also buy paper on sale (free after rebates).
I do this also, the cpns print lighter and ink stretches further, as long as the cpn is visible and they scan its worth it doing grayscale.
i love the fast laser printers
I only print the coupons that i know i will use instead of printing all
I turn paper over to get at least 2 on one sheet!
Since my husband does not want me to use his printer for coupons, this would really be helpful to be able to coupon more freely without trying to sneek it a print when he is not home.
I will print the ones that I think I will use and then I wait for sales.
Julia
Love printing out coupons. I double side print my coupons and also change color to black and white to save on my color cartridge.
I print only the ones that I know I will use. It saves ink and paper!
Hey Jenny, where do you get the toner at this price? I have the same exect printer and ran out of toner yesterday, so need to replace it. Could you please tell me where you get the toner? Thank you…
I use advertisements that come in the mail with a blank side :)
I print with the gray scale setting and if I had any paper left over from printing coupons I use that also for ex if the paper will hold 4 coupons but Ive only printed 2 with it I will cut off the unused and use it next time
I only print the coupon not all the extra advertisements at the bottom!
I just print the ones I know I will use, and usually only high value since I don’t have a great printer.
Wow – I’m with JodyLo, but also print coupons for co-workers (with babies) and family members. They print them for me as well. :)
I work in an office and I bring home all used paper. Flip it over and print on the blank side. Prints fine and always scans. Two uses for the smae sheet of paper!
I’ve been using a LOCAL INK SHOP to refill my Ink Cartridges.
It’s cheaper than buying at the store new.
Also do like most of the others posted, 3 coupons per sheet.
Or if it’s only 1 coupon for 1 item, I print it, flip paper and print on other side.
It would save a lot to have option of the cartridges lasting through 1000+ printings! wow
I love this printer. And they seem to scan easier than those printed on my inkjet. I have school age kids with projects so I have held onto the inkjet.
I would love to win this for a couponing friend! I bought one after you posted about it and I love it! I accidentally recycled my drum though….People beware dont do that!
Definitely re-use paper, and put printer on draft settings…
I print on the back side of used paper, also use black and white draft print only.
I keep the printed coupons in my binder in the category it belongs to not all in one place, that way when I’m out shopping and I find something that I remember printing a coupon for, I don’t have to go through all the coupons I printed to find it just the category it belongs to.
I print on scratch paper.
I ONLY PRINT COUPONS we use and I turn mt paper over to print coupons
I always print black and white and recycle the unused paper. My grand kids love drawing pictures on the scraps.
Money saving tip-I make sure to print in multiples of three-usually the amount of coupons that print on one page.
reuse paper and print multiples on one sheet or use for art work paper when coupon trimmed off!
Never waste paper so only print the saving you will use. Also use all paper don’t throw away the paper you have left over. :)
I only print the ones I know I will use or the deals I read about
I have been looking for a new printer and this is just the one I had my eye on! Would love to win it!
I cut off the bottom portion of the single coupon printed pages and reuse them to print other single coupon pages :)
I’ve had my eye on this printer for about 3 months now! I keep telling myself that if I save enough on coupons, I’ll buy it for myself. Apparently, the money I save with coupons is always needed for something much more important, lol. I’d love to win it so I can retire the printer I have now (that prints in color and therefore can not afford to keep ink in it) to the kids’ computer. :)
I always print as many as I can on a single page.
I SO WANT THIS PRINTER!!! It’s on my wish list for Christmas! :)
i haven’t been printing coupons for long…but i do always print them in black and white :)
I can’t get a black only ink cartridge. When mine is empty I refill it multiple times with only black ink. Also , I try to make sure to print as many coupons as possible on one sheet of paper.
I use grayscale and don’t cut out the coupons until I need them…that way if they expire before the item goes on sale, I can use the same paper to print new coupons on the back!
Always print in black and white.
When only one coupon prints on a sheet, use the other side for other coupons. Print in grayscale.
Are we supposed to leave a money saving print tip? Ok, here’s mine: My girls (ages 3 and 5) come home with a ton of half colored worksheet pages from school. Although I try to save the good momento stuff, a lot of the pages would just be thrown in the garbage, so I flip them over and print coupons on the back side.
I print as many coupons as possible on one page and if it will only print one per page then I flip and print on other side. Also I use scrap paper and print on the good side. Thanks for this opportunity!!!
I always print in black and white and I recycle paper. I will reuse full sheets of paper if I have a coupon expire and print on the back of that sheet for new coupons, after putting an X through the expired coupon.
I try to print as many on the page as I can but if it will only print one I will cut it out and put the paper back for another print :)
Would LOVE this cool printer…I can’t get my printer to print black and white and the color cartridges are so expensive!!
i try to print as many as i can on one sheet of paper. if there is a way i can flip it over and print on the opposite blank side, i do. would love this printer.
I print black and white and use the lightest ink setting. Ink lasts much longer!
Thanks for the opportunity! I love your site!
I only print coupons if I don’t have another coupon in my stash!
printing at home is extra coupons
Don’t leave home without your coupons
WOW !!! This is a great money saving giveaway, Thank You. Just last week I was out buyig ink for my wireless printer and said when I could afford it I am going to buy me a new printer because th one I have doesnt allow me to print much before it is running out of ink again. So this would be a great way for me to save money.
I recycle paper from work – so I don’t spend for paper.
i use the backs my sons papers he brings home from school. that way i dont throw away so much and i save paper
First find a printer with the cheapest ink that will print the most copies. Also recycle your cartridges at staples because you get money back. Also i recycled my old printer at staples and they then gave me discount on my new printer also make sure to only print coupons that you will use.
My printer is not very efficient for printing coupons, the ink runs out too quickly. If I don’t win this printer I’m going to buy one.
I buy super cheap ink from Abacus and I get free reams of paper at office supply stores.
Would love to win this printer, I always watch the sales & use coupons on the BOGO offers, saves tons of money.
I’m so glad to hear about this printer!! My husband has fussed about how quickly I got through ink since we started couponing!
This would be awesome! Our printer runs out of ink all the time!
I’ve been eyeing this printer for a while …
Always print black and white…this would help me remember to do it everytime, and would be a great help for printing music sheets too!
I have thought about printing coupons but didn’t have the printer to do it. I have only using the sunday paper and have looked into printer but have yet to be able to save up one.
I try to only print what I will use. I also print as many on a page as I can. If it puts advertisement on the page, I will print coupons an the back side of the paper. I would love this printer, because I can’t always change mine to print in just black and white.
print good coupon and save ink and paper while printing. I hope I could win a new printer
Oh that would be awesome!! This is a pretty good giveaway…. would be nice to have a printer just for my coupon printing… wouldn’t take up all the ink in the other one we have :)
I like to reuse paper that only has on coupon on it
Awesome contest, love this site and all your hard work, want the printer!
Stock up on paper any time it’s free or on a great sale. Print ONLY the Q’s you need — that way some are left for other people, and you don’t waste paper and toner on things that’ll just be thrown away! :)
I reuse paper if it’s only been printed on one side. Also, I wait to see if an advertisement will print and have the cancell print button ready to hit if it does so that I don’t waste my ink on an advertisment of something that I am planning on buying anyway. I have my printer settings on black and white, but most of the time the coupon printer overrides that – hence the reason I would like an black only high yield printer! Thanks Jenny!
I only print the coupons I know im going to use that week. I also turn in my cartridge and get a few bucks for them to put towards my new cartridge.
I try to only print coupons I plan to use. That way, I don’t waste a lot of extra ink and paper. :)
maximize saving by using coupons! from groceries to clothes to movie to dining out!!! =)
Ooh, would love to win this! My printer runs through ink like crazy!!!!!
Oh I love this printer. I hope I win! Laser printers are the way to go!
First off, I WOULD LOVE TO WIN THIS PRINTER!!!! To save on printing coupons, I print three coupons per page, try to only print the coupons that I am going to use, and if there is only one coupon printed I will flip it over and use the other end too. I love the idea that some of you said of reusing scrap paper, never done that before bc thought there might be a problem scanning. Thanks for the new tip :) also if I am running low on ink, there is a computer lab at my college where if you bring your own paper in you can print all that you want.
I buy paper in bulk. Alot of money up front but savings in the long run
Well I’m still learning what to print and not to print…I feel like I’ve wasted some ink so far, but getting better. Me and my fiance just started couponing and have enjoyed all of the savings so far! I’d love to win this printer as it’s a pain getting my current printer to just print black and white.
My money saving tip for printing coupons is to always print in black and white. I also flip the paper over and use the other side if I have enough blank space to print another coupon.
Print black and white if possible
Awesoem Giveaway!! Would Love to win this!
I reuse paper to get up to 3 coupons per page and definitely only print coupons I know I will use.
I print in black and white always try to make sure 3 are on a sheet of paper and I do Swagbucks for Amazon and buy refilled cartridges from there:)
would really love this and so could use it!!! with twins and a baby on the way, i print coupons all of the time!!
I am new to all this and learning. The posted comments are helpful. Thank you.
It’s my birthday next week, this would be a super cool present! Thanks for the chance – have a grand weekend.
Would love to have a printer just for coupons. I’ve used all the black ink in my other one printing coupons in just one month.
Ooohhh I was just looking at these – would love to win one!
Money saving tip for printing coupons=ONLY print what you think you will actually use, otherwise it can end up a waste
Be sure to only print the ones you’ll use!!
wow, i am ready for a change from our hp…thanks!
I print coupons in draft format with the grayscale setting, and I use recycled paper that my husband brings home from work
I stock up on free paper and I make sure to stop the printer so it doesn’t print the ad with the coupon.
I use leftover paper-say the coupon prints 1/3 of page use as scrap paper thanks
I ad match and watch sells to pair coupons with these sales to get cheap and/or free items.
You only print what your gonna use! Watch out for the expiration date too, because if you know that you want get to use it before then, why print it!
I also print three to a sheet if possible!
I’m new to all this and using coupons, figured I should start since I’m getting married in less than 6 months and we will need to save money! All of these comments are really helpful and I love your site!! :)
I print only the coupons I know I am going to use. I would love to win a printer. I actually need to go buy one this week.
I re-use paper and try to only print coupons for things I will use.
What a awesome save of money & time!
Money saving tip: print only in black & white & try to use as much of one sheet of paper as possible!
This would be a great gift to myself:) Thanks!
Print b&w and only coupons you need.
I only print coupons I know I will use, and if only one coupon prints on a page, I flip around and run the same piece of paper through to print a coupon on the other end so I use the WHOLE sheet of paper. :)
use recycle paper
In addition to other comments …
I also use the clean back side of anything I printed wrong or papers I no longer need and also use scrap mail that I don’t need.
I used to print ones I thought I’d use, but now I wait until I actually make my SouthernSavers list every week and only print ones I’m using each specific trip! Also, I have found most stores (especially retail stores) will scan my barcode off my smart phone when I pull a coupon and/or coupon code up that way!! Just did this yesterday at Kohl’s and it saved me a print!!! :))
I always print my coupons in black and white (seeing as I haven’t replaced my color ink in years…) and I only print the coupons I know that I will use. I recycle my scrap paper and use them for other things.
Print in Black and White only and not at Best Quality (draft may be too poor for UPC to scan)
I try to print only coupons I think I will use.
When I print a coupon twice I turn the paper over and upside down so it is on the same page twice!
i love your website!
I try to print on both sides of the paper– one coupon on the end of one side, and another coupon on the opposite end of the other side. I then save the blank middle to use as scrap paper.
1. Print Coupons you will only use.
2. Print more than one coupon per sheet.
3. Use the cheapest printer paper you can find ( Office Depot, Staples rebate deals)
4. Refill Ink at Walgreens.
5. If a coupon prints out receipes or other things at the end of a coupon, watch for your coupon to print then cancel print to stop the printer ….that way you can still use the bottom half of the paper.
I save up and go to CVS!! I am new at this, but learning and loving CVS!
I always check “fast” print when prompted. I also recycle paper when possible. If I don’t use coupons that I have printed I take those and all of my other expired coupons (within 6 months of date) to Mr. Bill at the Publix on Two Notch. He sends them over to military families to use!!!
I only print the coupons I know I will use, and I make sure to use both sides of the paper to save money on paper. Also, printing in black and white is alot cheaper than wasting colred ink.
Printer would make me VERY happy!
I set my printer to the fast draft setting so it uses less ink, and I order refilled cartridges that are cheaper. However, a dedicated coupon printer would be awesome!!!
Always use both sides of the paper and use the back side of any other paper that we may have.
I use black ink only and make sure i have three to a sheet so i dont get those ads
I recycle paper!
I print the cooupons I wil use and use the blank side of scrap paper.
I’m a student teacher. Would love this!
I wait for the easy rebates on paper at staples and turn in my used ink cartridges.
No words of wisdom…my printer died years ago and I’ve never replaced it.
I use both sides of the paper and print only in black and white.
My money saving tip for printing cpns is that i use grayscale which prints much lighter but still very clearly visible. I almost never print one cpn at a time, even if i wont use the cpn i have friends that cpn so i print 1-2 cpns on that page for them (we Swap cpns sometimes). Color cpns are pretty but blk and wht are cheaper so i of course print without color. I can use this printer because EACH time i print i must select my settings all over again, my printer will print in color if i dont. since this one ONLY prints Blk and wht i can get more done in less time instead of getting less done in more time. Another thimg i do to save when printing cpns is tht i often select what i want to print and in my print options i choose print selected instead of printing all. Hope this helps someone.
I LOVE brother printers. I use a small one now. I would love this one!
Be sure to select enough coupons to print a full page at a time.
only print the coupons you use the most of, or really need. Most of the time you already have that coupon. also reuse the bottom of every sheet of paper to save on copy paper. Thanks for the giveaway.
I never toss paper @ work or @ home when the back can be used for coupons. I have changed printer to black & white only. All of the junk mail is used if there is a blank side. I also use the envelopes they send for taking my coupons to the store, by marking Wags,Publix, etc on the front.
I use only black ink. I try to print only in sets of 3 so that extra paper isn’t wasted. When I cannot do sets of 3, I take the extra blank paper, cut it up, and put it by our phone on the counter for messages and notes!
I only print what I will use and I use every scrap of paper. If the paper left won’t fit in the printer or the coupon won’t fit on it then we use the scrap paper for lists and especially for practicing spelling words!
I only print coupons that I can’t get from my paper because alot of the time they give you the same ones and I use the scrap paper to make shopping lists.
I only print out the ones I absolutly know i will use.
print what i think i will use and use the front and back of the paper.
I use the back of old paper or expired coupons I didn’t use.
I try to get as many coupons on one page as possible. Then, I print, print, print.
my sister got one of these and has been telling me how great it is, I would love to win one for myself!
My printer is set to preview, so I can see what a coupon will look like before it prints. This saves me from wasting ink on ads, or printing bad coupons altogether.
What a nice printer to win! I only print a few coupons, but they are always in color and sometimes a full page. This printer would save me money:)
I really want to win!
Usually Bricks coupons print at the top of the page, so if I’m printing two of the same coupon, I take the first print and put it back in the printer so I have one coupon at the top and one at the bottom.
Sometimes a coupon will print on the top of the paper along with ad add. I just flip the paper over and use the backside for the next coupon!
I only print the coupons I am pretty sure I will use and I only use a laser printer. Ink for my inkjet was just too expensive.
That would be nice to have
Print the coupons that you need now. Copy, Paste and Save the links to the website and as you need the coupons, go back to the link and print!! Saves on paper, ink and gives someone else the opportunity to use the coupons you don’t need or will ever use.
My old printerter just died several days ago. I would love a new one
I have my printer set to fast print which saves money on ink. I also turn my paper around so that I get 3 coupons per page and not waste paper.
tinajanet1@verizon.net
I love this idea of a high yield toner.
Print what is neccessary and use black and white for copies.
If you print a bricks coupon at the top of the page, cut off the bottom 2/3 and use it for other bricks
I have been looking for a cheaper way to print coupons and this sounds perfect! With 5 children ages 5-20, we are always looking for anything to save money.
always print in black and white…only what you will use or high value coupons
I try to select at least 3 coupons to eliminate wasted space on the paper
Only use coupons for stuff you use regularly and use them when the item is on sale.
Print only those that you know you will use. And also reuse paper if you didn’t use one. :) It helps to save on printer paper as well as time.
Oh how I would love this printer! I bought my Kodak originally to print pictures but I recently found out after I ran out of color ink that I cannot print coupons at all. The printer I have will not allow you to print in black and white unless the color ink cartridge is full also! It’s such a bummer! I would save so much if I won this printer!
only print the coupons that you’re actually going to use–not just the ones that you might use on a lark. unless they have a REALLY long expiry date, you probably won’t actually use them!
Only print what u need for the trip.
I always print in black and white and get as many coupons per page as i can
Black ink is cheaper, so set printer preference to print in black & white.
Thanks for the chance to win a Brother printer!
I use greyscale for printing coupons which reduces the amount of ink that is used. I also do not print coupons unless I know that I am going to use them in the next few days. I know that this means I probably miss some great deals, but I have found that I tend to not use coupons if I print them just because they are there. I feel like I am saving money by only printing what I need, when I need.
Buy printer ink cartridges at Refil locations like rapid refill. They fill ink more full than manufacterers so it lasts MUCH longer.
Always just print the ones you know you will use, and only use a black & white printer.
I really hope I win
my money saving tip is to print off coupons at my friends office on campus as she gets free printing
A laser black and white would help save money on printing for sure! Great giveaway! I’d love to win one!
Only print what you will actually use!
I print all the coupons that I need and cut them. I use the remaining sheets to print more coupons.
I only print coupons that I’m sure I’m going to use.
I use grey scale for printing and I also print on the back of Scrap paper.
I use the black and white draft feature to save money.
I try to print 2 or 3 coupons per page and only in black and white.
I print my coupons as black and white and on half sheet of paper.
Print 3 coupons at a time so you use the whole sheet of paper. Set your printer to print in grayscale.
i use only black ink to print our coupons and i recycle paper to print more coupons love to save money anyway i can:)
I stand by the printer and listen for the bottom line of the coupon to print so I can hit “cancel” and stop printing before the obnoxious full color ad prints below the coupon. :)
I only print coupons that I am going to use and I print on the back of scrap paper.
I used to print every coupon that I might possibly use and usually threw away almost all of them. Now I wait until I can definitely match them to a sale, unless I am absolutely sure that I will use the coupone even without a sale.
Love that this printer prints in black and white
I only print coupons that I know I will use. And I always check which ones I have on hand (from previous printings) so I don’t print too many that will go to waste. If I do find I have extras, I leave them near the product at the grocery/drug store.
I print what I will use and check the expiration date as well. I will go to the Target site so , I can stack the printable and paper coupons for more savings . My Publixs accepts Target coupons ,woo hoo ! I have a Epson printer for business and it eats my ink almost weekly , such a great idea to get a black and white for printing coupons and my case recipes !!!
I can’t say I have any money saving tips on printing coupons, but my printer may be on its last leg, so a new one would be appreciated!
This is awesome!!
I always use front and back of paper, buy my ink on ebay and go through ebates
I print in draft mode and only print the coupons I know I will use. My current printer is a huge ink waster so I would love a new one!
I use the front/back/side…every inch of paper to save a tree :) I also highlight the coupon and print “selection” instead of the whole thing because 95% of it is stuff I don’t need. It is a waste of ink, time and energy. I love being as green as possible and with 6 kids, I love to save save save money!
I usually only print what I know I will use, I refill my cartridges instead of buying new ones and try to catch paper on really good sales!
Only print the coupons that you know you will use. If you print coupons that you don’t use, you just lost money.
Learning some new things when it comes to printing online coupons. Love being able to save ink by printing them in greyscale! Quick question though, has anyone had any problems redeeming coupons that are in black and white? I had a problem before with cashiers saying that they were not valid coupons because they were in black and white.
I usally go to publix they allow you to use there coupon, manufacture’s and a compettitors all the same making a tripple savings.
I never print in color! I only print the coupons I know I will use. I love Southern Savers!! :)
I’ve learned to print just the coupons I know I will use in the near future.
I look over several sites and look for the best prices to save money, and print the most coupons possible for the product…
Don’t print any at all!!! And that’s only because I don’t have a printer, I really really really want to print coupons bad!!!!!
I would LOVE to win this! I print only what I will use and do so in black and white on the lowest quality setting!
I try to highlight as to only print the actual coupons. I also only print the coupons I know I will be using.
I always make sure if I am printing out a coupon and it only prints one on the page to flip it over and upside down to make sure that it prints another so I am not wasting ink as well as paper. I also try and set my ink to only the black cartridge when I can.
Thank you so much for this giveaway! Hope I can win!
I need a new printer.
I have bought several printers and spend loads in ink.. would love to be able to save more many in this area! thanks southern savers!!
My $ saving idea – I reuse paper when I print coupons – I save paper during the week that didn’t come out right, and doesn’t have much printing on it, and use it whn I am printing coupons. Seems to work fine. I also turn the page round and print on the bottim when only one coupon prints.
i have liked on facebook!
Thank you for having this great giveaway!!!!
I only print coupons AFTER making my list, just to make sure I’m not wasting paper by printing coupons I’ll never use.
I print my grocery lists on one side of the paper, then once I use the list and a new one is printed, I print my coupons on the other side of the paper of the old list.
print in grayscale!
We reuse paper that my son has used for drawing or school work. We print coupons on the back of just about anything we’re not going to save! I also print in black and white sometimes. :)
I try to only print high value coupons, and ones that I know I will use. When printing only one coupon, I reverse the paper and print more on the other end of the paper.
I always flip the paper, and print another coupon on the opposite site…. and one more thing… always black&white…

Printing in black and white save you money in the long run rather than having to print in color and having to buy both color and black ink.
I sooo need this printer. I use cover sheet papers from my work to print the coupons on the back. Reuse or Recycle, i did both.
I would love to win a new printer!
I print on economy mode.
Would love a new printer!!!!
I am pretty choosy about which coupons I print, and use the “fast draft” black and white setting.
I only print what I know I will use… And I change my settings to “fast draft” quality and “black” ink only. :)
i would love to have one of these!
Thanks for sharing about this printer
I would love to have a printer that would print in black and white. Now would be perfect since it is the first of month and I am out of ink. I print a lot and it cost lots because of the color.
Oh, how I would love a new printer! I have to hold my printers tray in order for it to print! LOL..
I refill cartridges, buy on sale, with coupons and I save all printer paper from other projects and print on the back. Odd shaped paper that I can’t put back in the printer goes to the coloring pages bin.
My strategy for saving when printing my coupons is to print in the “fast” setting, which uses less ink. I don’t bother printing in black and white because the black ink runs out faster than the color ink, so using both actually helps me extend the life of the black ink. Another thing I do is that I save all the paper I’ve used at school or home (for homework, photocopies, etc) and I print on the other (empty) side. I never use a new blank sheet of paper, even if it was cheap.
OK…mixed emotions right now. I found a great deal this morning on this exact printer! I bought it on Amazon for $49.99 with free shipping…but it was today only, so I jumped! So if you can’t wait to find out if you won, run over to the Amazon site. I should’ve came to the Southern Savers site first thing this morning!
I would. Love. To.! Win. Please. Pick. Me. So need. A printer
Thanks for the chance! I like you on fb!
My money saving tip for printing coupons is put your printer settings on monochromatic, so that it only uses black and white ink. Also, I LOVE using the paper that my coworkers used to throw away, but they now give to me so I can use the backs of the paper to print at home! :)
I like to print a coupon and then flip the paper over and print on the bottom on the back so I get 2 coupons out of the same sheet!
I use color because if you just use black it tends to run out really quickly. I also reuse paper. If I print one coupon. I cut it off the sheet of paper and use that half for my other coupon! I also found that when my printer says low ink and and the coupons look faded when they’re printed. I waited to buy ink and then forgot and printed something a week later and it was fine. even though it is getting really low, sometimes when it says replace now, you can still squeeze a few more prints out of it.
a money saving tip I always do is print coupons on the front and back of the paper in different spots so I can get 2-3 coupons per sheet of paper, only problem is my current printer only works 1/2 the time so I can’t really print a lot of coupons right, a new printer would be wonderful!
My strategy for saving money while printing coupons is to print as many on the same piece of paper as possible, even using the back if there is room. Those pieces of paper add up when you print one coupon at a time
printing several coupons on one page as well as having ink cartridges refilled instead of buying new ones
“Like” southernsaverson facebook!!!!
I would LOVE a new printer! My HP wireless is a POS – it jams and the cartridge gets stuck for no reason. I’ve lost a lot of coupon prints because of it. Thanks for the contest!
Jenny, I tried to log in with my FB account but some “error” occurred. Don’t know if that makes a difference or not, but I am definitely a follower on FB.
I recyle paper if my children have written or scribbled on the back I print on the other side.
I save money printing coupons by useing the fast setting on my printer. It uses less ink. I also try to print most of my coupons at night when less electricity is being used in the house. This saves on my power bill as well.
only print what you need
I only print the coupons I know I’m going to use.
One thing I always do to save on printing coupons is “always” print in black only. I only try to print coupons that I know that I’m going to use & I am on the look out for a good laser printer…….. Would LOVE to win one of these Brothers!!!
I have a Lexmark, but this Brother sounds way better
I print on the back of paper the kids color on, with their permission of course : )
Not only just use black and white ink, but draft copy also.
money saving tip for printing coupons, print more than one coupon per sheet. Once I print my first coupon I reload the same page and reprint, to get two coupons on the same sheet of paper.
Always print in b/w, and use the draft mode…takes up less ink!
I listen to see if an ad is going to print below the coupon and hit cancel before it has a chance to print and waste my ink.
I print maximum coupons per page and print at the back of unwanted papers at home instead of trashing it.
My money saving tip is to get one of these printers!! Ink costs wayyy too much but by winning the printer, I’d be able to do even more couponing!!
My money saving tip for printing coupons is to save the 1/2 or 3/4 size sheets of paper that are leftover from printing just one coupon. You can turn the uncut edge to the front of your printer tray and then get another one or even two coupons on that 3/4 or 1/2 size sheet, thus not wasting the whole page for just one coupon. This works for most printers but yours may be different. Try it and see!
My savings tip for printing coupons is to only print the ones you think you may use soon. Also if I print just one, I’ll cut it out then put the left over piece of paper usually 2/3 of the paper remains and use it to print instead of wasting the paper!
When I print a coupon that only uses the top of the paper I turn the paper around and use the other end before I click print for that coupon again. Saves on a little paper.
My money saving tip for printing coupons is to look in the clearance aisle of your grocery or drugstore. I’ve been able to find ink for my inkjet printer at rock bottom prices. I’ve even found color ink cartridges. love southern savers. please let me win the printer.
My money saving tip is check for new coupons at the first of the month!
If I am only printing one coupon from a certain place, I cut it off and put that page back in the feeder to print another!
I like to only print items that I know I can use for my family
I try to print coupons on both sides of the paper as often as I can.
When only one coupon prints on a page, I cut the coupon off and use the remainder of the paper to print atleast 2 more coupons. I always use the back of paper that has extra pictures and advertisements from other coupons.
I like to use my computer to print a set and my11 year old son prints coupons for me on his lap top and now I got my husband printing from his laptop too since he was just laid off so now we use as much coupons that can help us on everyday needs
Where do you get your “refill high yield cartridge for around $18 that prints
1500-2000 sheets!” ??? I am about to need one! Thanks! Jan
I also try to save paper and have learned my lesson if I only print one coupon on one side of the paper I turn it over and then around so just in case it prints a full page add it won’t ruin my other coupon.
I love this printer, I bought one last year. I want to get one for my sister in law!
My strategy for saving money while printing coupons is to print as many on the same piece of paper as possible, even using the back if there is room. Those pieces of paper add up when you print one coupon at a time. My husband helps by taking the stacks of paper that are going to get thrown away at his work and brings them home so i can print on them and never have to buy paper for printing.
Printing a few coupons on each page so you’re not using more paper than you have to.
I need a printer that prints only on black and white
I only print when I need it and I try to always print in black and white.
My money saving tip is to print in gray scale. Also, if coupon prints at top part return paper to printer it prints at the bottom part.
Print in black/white draft mode to save ink.
I use the back of scrap paper (those leftover pages that print three lines from an internet page, etc) to print my coupons. I also put the color to black/white for coupons so I don’t use up all my color ink.
I recycle paper that’s been printed on one side – stores don’t care what’s on the other side of the coupon. I set my inkjet printer to “grayscale” printing but would LOVE to win this laser printer to make it even more economical!. And If I print one coupon I cut the sheet of paper and run it through again — usually you can get 3 coupons out of one sheet of paper this way, even if you don’t print them all from one site.
My laser printer started smoking last time I used it, so I could really use a new one!
To save ink, I have my printer set on black & white and draft settings. I also try to print 3 coupons on one page. If I only need one coupon from a site, I reinsert the page and print one or two more on the back. This is a good way to use those pages that print ads below the coupons.
I have a samsung laser printer. It’s so expensive to replace the four cartridges so I don’t use it. I would love this printer.
I have a laser printer, but it is not nearly as efficient. would love to upgrade!!!
I would LOVE to have a printer that was more efficient with ink. I go through ink so quickly!
I would LOVE to have a printer that was more efficient with ink. I go through ink so quickly!
My money saving tip for printing coupons is to use the back side of any paper I have… ads from the mail, ANYTHING that has an empty side gets a coupon printed on it. Just be SURE there is no personal info on the other side!
Turn your printer settings down to the lowest setting. recycle paper. get as many coupons as you can out of one sheet. Make sure to turn your printer off when you are not using it too.
I only print the coupons I will use and print as many as I can on one paper.
I don’t have a coupon printer. To save paper, I turn the page upside down and print another coupon on it. Hence – winning this one would greatly streamline my shopping prep. :)
I don’t have a coupon printer. To save paper, I turn the page upside down and print another coupon on it. Hence – winning this one would greatly streamline my shopping prep. :)
I print as many coupons that will fit on one sheet and I also reuse the paper from work that will be thrown away or recycled. I currently have a color printer with separate color and black cartridges. Because the black cartridge is much cheaper, I change the settings to print in black & white, using the black cartridge only. I would love to have this printer!! :o)
My money saving tips is to always find 3 coupons on a site to print at a time. That way the full sheet get used.
I use scraps of paper to print coupons on. I manually feed them in the computer. This way, I try to use every shred of paper out there for my coupons.
print as many coupons on a sheet
To save paper I turn it over upside down and always make sure to use both sides of the paper whenever there’s room of course. :)
Money saving printing tips: I will print a coupon then flip the paper around and print another on the same sheet- or have my husband print some from work for me ;-)
Always print in black and white. Black ink is a lot cheaper, then colored. Also, make sure your stores take printed coupns.
I buy cheaper ink and get free paper alot to help out with the cost!
I use my pages back to back to have one on the top and one on the bottom! Works most of the time.
I limit coupons to the ones that I will most likely see on sales and print 3 to a page. Of course, I also only print in B&W. I don’t know how to reinsert paper to print on bottom or other side yet, but it’s a great suggestion I saw on here!!! I do use bottom blank pieces of paper for my kids to draw, etc or for my school work, so I still reuse/recycle!
Change the print settings to grayscale. This way you don’t use any of your color ink!
I refill my own ink cartridges and watch for those great sales on paper… also, I ensure that the whole page is used up with coupons.
I also put to my printer to grayscale and I only print the coupons for which I need. :)
I too, use the back side of papers to print on, and always try to get 3 coupons on each paper. I keep a list of things we really use and go only for those coupons, when I started couponing a half year ago i would print everything, and only use about 15% of it. Now I go for the things we really use.
I print in “draft” mode and only grayscale to save on ink usage per print! I also RECYCLE paper .. flip it over and print on the back!
Thanks for all your help – Jenny you are the best! I would love a new printer!
So…I just print them at work. That way someone else pays for the ink. Yeah I’m mean.
I just print coupons that I know i’m likely to use!
Thanks for the giveaway!
Trisha
I put my printer on grayscale, set it to draft quick print, and I only print what I will use in the next week.
When printing coupons, I try to make them smaller so I can get more on a page. Also, only printing the ones you need! There’s no point printing out all of the coupons when you won’t use them!
My tip is to find a good source for ink online as it is usually cheaper than in the stores….and of course to recycle as much paper as possible.
If I am going to a site that is printing One specific product I print my coupon the flip the paper and reload to print again
I use the bottom of the paper or the backside to recycle.
I only print the ones that I will use or expect to use. If I don’t normally use it, I’m not going to print it.
I cut the coupon off and use the middle of the page also.
I buy refurbished toners when they are available. I use Staples so I get points for future purchases. I get the paper when it is free. I flip to maximize coupons per page. I re-use my shopping list to print coupons on the back. I only print what I need.
to avoid wasting paper and ink, i only print coupons i plan to use right away or if they are on products I buy regularly. I also use the extra paper once I have cut out the coupons to make my lists for shopping.
I refill my own inkjet cartridges and MY computer is always set to print in black only. but of course I have an HP which ONLY prints coupons in COLOR and there is no way to set if to print in B&W without digging into the computer operating settings… no thanks.
I can get some to print in B&W which saves a bundle … but since I set my computer to print B&W only, Ive noticed I don’t really need much printed in color. I don’t really miss it.
Ive been watching these for the last month waiting for them to go on sale…. and have been waiting to grab one. I SO SO hope I win… Love you JEN!
:)
I only print the ones I know I will use and print in black and white instead of color. Thanks!
I reuse my daughter’s school info papers! Makes for colorful coupons!
I print on both sides of the page.
I always check Salvation Army for paper. I have found boxes of old tractor feed kind for .75 cents. Just tear off edges and separate. Easy to do while watching TV or in carpool.
when i starting couponing i printed everything. Now i print only those that are high value and can be used with a sale. I also print in grey scale to reduce using the color cartrige.
I print in economy and in grayscale, I only print the coupons I think I will use. I try to reduce the size, but that doesnt always work.
I buy printers at yard sales for about 5 bucks. I refill ink cartriages and use both sides of the paper.
Use black ink for coupons instead of color. I buy my ink on EBAY so it is cheaper, and I get the XL ink that is supposed to last longer. I also use the back of paper that I had printed other things on. If I only print one coupon, I save the rest of the paper to reuse.
I always print on draft quality. I also cut my coupons and reuse the paper to either print more qoupons or use it to make my lists for the stores if its too small
My old printer broke so this would come in really useful right about now!
Only print coupons I need and print 3 coupons on each page.
I use greyscale and make sure the whole paper is used! Also watch for the free paper (staples free after easy rebate whoohoo!) and use my familys addresses to get multi ones
Flip over the sheet and print on the back.
i have been looking for something like this. i am replacing my curent ink every month and i only print 10-15 coupons. It is not worth it right now so this would really help out
I use scrap paper front printing!
I would love to win this…our printer is still working, but not very well.
Do not go overboard…maybe you really won’t need 10 qs of that ice tea product…I have learned the hard way that I try to only print two coupons of anything and make sure i am really going to use them before I do more then that. Most qs will still be there when you come back to them. When I first began couponing, I wanted to print as many as I could and wasted lots of ink!
Also, use the backs of the paper and use fast draft black and white!
I go to school full time and the kids and I use so much ink for our current printer, on school papers and projects, which gets way too expensive! $52.00 for ink is too much on our budget! I would love one of these printers!!
I also flip the sheet over and print on the back. Also I order my printer cartridges online when ever there are deals. I usually spend over $20 on 1 cartridge if I go to the store, last time I got a 15 cartridge cariety pack for that same amount online. Also, I work at home and my company provides paper and ink for my office printer so if there are coupons that don’t require a coupon printer to be installed I can print those on my office one ( I can’t download any coupon printers though :( )
I only print what I need or what I think I will use.
Watch for deals and stick to your budget
What an awesome giveaway! Thanks for the opportunity!!
My printer is set to grayscale and quick draft, I also use recycled papers anything without personal information, right before school starts I stock up on the printer paper because they are the cheapest at that time, I have also ran notebook paper through my printer-prints just fine. Each new school year the kids get new sprial notebook paper and when they get rid of the old I rip out the unused sheets and run them as my printer paper. (they are preforated) and of course I recycle some of the mail to…save a tree
Only print what you will use!
ONLY PRINT WHAT YOU WILL USE
I try to print only coupons I intend to use and I never print a couons for less than $.50, I just do not feel it is worth the time, paper and ink. Thanks for all you do Jenny!
oooops should be Janie
a lot of the time only 1 coupon will print at a time, so i trim whats left of the paper and reload it to use as much of each sheet as i can.
I make sure to put the fast draft option to use less ink.
when I only print one coupon, I will save the other half of the paper and use it when I only need to print one coupon. And always…only print what you need….
I only print coupons that I will use. The printer is set to fast draft and grayscale.
I would love one of these printers..
If coupons printed did not use the entire sheet of paper, save “scrap” paper and use next time you only print one coupon
Make sure to have your printer settings set to black and white.
I have been saving coupons for a long time, since 1980, but, these sites have been great!!! didn’t know I could get so many coupons THANKS for setting these sites up for us that need the coupons to help during these rough times. My husband is unemployed and Im on disability, so the coupons are a gift from GOD to us. Keep up the GREAT work that you are doing.
When an ad prints out along with the coupon, I print on both sides of the paper making sure not to overlap the actual coupons.
I use the fast draft/economic print setting, print at least 2 coupons to each page, and I only print the coupons I am going to use (which means sometimes there are no prints left!)
Love the brother printer – mine is about worn out!
I use my daughter’s school papers and print coupons on the back side. Never had anyone refuse to take them.
I would LOVE, LOVE, LOVE! (yes 3 loves) to win this!!
dont print extra use cancel to stop ad prints at the bottom from printing
I use the B&W “economy” setting on my printer, and I print both sides of the page, when possible.
Only print coupons I am going to use :)
I save money by only printing coupons that I know I will use and have my cartridges refilled at Cartridge World.
I rarely print coupons but when I do I try to make sure that I will use them and use the ink saver setting!
are there ever any deals on ink and where????
Be sure to use the paper that you get free after rebate, and wait till ink cartridges are on sale!
Thanks for the opportunity!
Wait for the item to go on sale and you need the coupon to print it. At first I printed everything and I didn’t us them – now I print as I need them!
Love this printer
Wow…the printer I use currently costs me $50 for new toner…I hope I can win one of these to help continue to save my family money.
same as everyone else, use b&w ink to print, print on both sides.
i like southern savers on fb!
Only print what u can use, grayscale, fit as many as possible on one sheet, always recycle whats left over. That’s Southern Savers for all the information you provide us each day!
I print on the back side of the paper also.
Only print what u will use, grayscale, fit as many as possible on one sheet, recycle what is left over. Thanx Southern Savers for all u provide for us each day.
Treat printing coupons as you would saving money. You are spending extra $ when you print every coupon that comes available. I ONLY print the coupons that I know will be used quickly otherwise they expire before I realize it!!
Treat printing coupons as you would saving money. You are spending extra $ when you print every coupon that comes available. I ONLY print the coupons that I know will be used quickly otherwise they expire before I realize it!!
I like to turn the paper over and use the bottom if I only print one coupon on a page.
I like to turn the paper over and use the bottom if I only print one coupon on a page.
I try to print 3 per page so that I use a whole sheet of paper and if I’ve printed some I decided not to use, I give them to other people.
I try to print 3 per page so that I use a whole sheet of paper and if I’ve printed some I decided not to use, I give them to other people.
print high value coupons to donate goods
I print on both sides too, I also save clean scraps for notes/lists.
I recycle my paper. If I print out one or three coupons, I don’t cut it until I need it, and if it/they expire(s), I print new coupons on the blank back side. I save single-sided waste paper from work (this is allowed) and use that, too. Also, If I’m printing out two of the same coupon, I’ll flip the paper so that the second coupon prints on the flip side on the opposite end; then it’s just a matter of folding in half and cutting both coupons out at the same time.
Alway go into printer properties and change from print in color to gray-scale lowest resolution. Uses about half the ink of high quality or color.
use both side of the paper, save scrap paper from the kids schoolwork, print on fast draft ink setting
I use the back sides of paper if they have printing on only one side and I also use half sheets for those coupons that have only printed one to a page.
I print coupons to buy food for my family and buy goods for my church!
I always print on the paper i would otherwise recycle….on the back of something i dont need anymore. And like the other readers i always go into printer properties and change to grayscale.
I save all of my family’s “random” print-outs (such as to-do lists, etc.) and print coupons on the back.
I cut out out coupons and use left over paper for to do lists ect.
I use the back sides of paper that I no longer need and when I print a coupon and still have plenty of paper left I will run it though to print any other coupons on.
I love this printer. I purchased one in April this year. I have kept up with how many pages of coupons that I have printed and as of today I have printed about 525 pages (some 3 to a page, some one to a page) without changing the toner. It is well worth the money.
So my money saving tip is to buy a brother printer!
This is my entry for the Brother printer contest.
Print on both sides for two coupons, try to print in 3s when possible, and hit cancel before the ad prints on single coupons. :)
I only print coupons I know I’ll use!
i am just getting stated. but only print the one that you need because you have to pay for the ink to print. and print more than just one on a page because of wasting paper. thanks i am learning so much from your site.
I use backs of random paper and/or use the small section that is left after printing a single coupon. My husband has printed things for work and run into my half sheets in the printer.
My money saving tip for printing coupons is to only print the ones you know you are going to use when you are ready to use them and print on fast draft, black ink only.
I print the ones I know I will use. and i try to get the paper when it is free or super cheap!
I try to recycle paper for printing.
Loooove free stuff~!!!
I always print in black and white and select “draft” under preferences.
I ONLY PRINT IN BLACK INK PLUS I PRINT MULTIPLE COUPONS SO NOT TO WASTE PAPER….OR IF I PRINT ONE FROM ONE SITE, I USE THAT PAPER TO PRINT ANOTHER.
I need a new printer SO BAD! Mine eats ink!!
I only print coupons right before i go to store to use them.
I print on fast normal mode and print in threes and use only black ink
I print once a week and only print what I know I need or will definitely use by exp. date and then if there are any scraps of paper left I use those to make lists or use for projects.
Be mindful of expiration dates when you print coupons!
I always print it as a draft in black and white. I also only print coupons that I know I will use.
Would love to have this savings for printing coupons, but it will also come in handy printing materials for my fours boys’ schooling.
I print only the ones I know I’ll use ahead of time. When I make up my grocery list I print any remaining coupons I need (if they’re available).
I only print those coupons that i know i would use. If there is enough unuse space for one coupon print, i cut it and use it too. :) I also set my printer settings to “draft” so it would not use up alot of ink. :)
I print coupons right before I go shopping and I make sure its the best deal. I also print coupons on back of scrap paper.
My huband and I purchased this printer last Sunday when it went on sale and then Monday he lost his job so we had to return it :(
I always make sure that I click all the coupons I want to click before I print. That way I don’t waste a half a page of paper on each coupon.
I use both sides of the paper when possible, only print coupons I’ll use, and use my scraps for lists.
I set the setting on the printer to use less ink.
I use both sides of the paper, grayscale and only the ones I really need. Thanks Jenny for helping others!
Recyle your childrens classwork (that you don’t want to save) and print coupons on the back! It makes the clerks smile!
I set my printer to black/white and fast draft. I’m also learning from your site how to wait for high value coupons.
I save money printing coupons by cutting, pasting and shrinking the coupons to get more on 1 page when possible :)
I print coupons on both sides of the paper, and I usually either give the scraps to my daughter to color pictures or do projects, or to make lists!
I only print what I know I will need. I also print in black and white only.
Like so many before me, I try to only print those I will actually use. Additionally, I save scraps of paper from other printings that will allow me to utilize the left over space on the paper. As always, thank you so much for your very VALUABLE service to help us all!!
If a coupon prints at the top of a page, I flip it and print again on the back bottom. I also change it to ‘fast draft’ printning.
I shrink coupons, cut and paste, and change margin sizes. I also have my printer set to fast draft, black and white. I only print coupons I need and if I only use the top of a piece of paper, I stick it back in and print on the other end!
Thanks to your website I will soon be able to come home and start my own business instead of living an hour away from my husband. Thank you!!!
Print on both sides of the paper when it’s a coupon with an ad attached to it. Print only in black and white, and get really cheap paper when its on sale!
Love Southersavers! Need a new printer!
I love Southern Savers
I try to print anytime I have “free prints” like when we stay in a hotel and you get 5 prints free etc. etc. and of course only in black and white! I also shop for my work so I will print coupons but if I only need 1 for work I will add 2 (3 per page) for myself since any print is the same cost at work……
I print on the back side of old xerox paper from my college classes!
Sounds like a good printer…would love to try it.
I try to only print the coupons i’m going to actually use, when I first started printing coupons I printed everything lol a little excited about the savings at the time. Now I only print what I know for sure i’m going to get use out of and I give my little girl the scraps for drawing and crafts.
I “recycle” paper by using the back of other things I’ve printed.
I try to have several coupons to print at one time. If not, I print on both sides of each sheet for coupons I only use. If some reason I was not able to use the coupon on time I also donate them. Really need a new printer. Thanks!!! ;)
I ask my family and friends to print a coupon or two and give to me the next time they see me, most important for the diaper and baby formula coupons!
to save on ink when I print coupons I always set my printer to print in B&W
Thanks for making saving money so easy!
I never throw any paper away. All paper becomes coupon printable. And I print as many as possible on one page.
I only print coupons that are great deals, based on my coupon experience. I look for awesome deals on paper and ink and stock up!! Not long ago, I got two cases of HP paper for 16 bucks! I also buy my ink online through EBates. Jenny, you should be so proud. Six months ago, I didn’t even use coupons!
I print on draft setting; use both sides of the paper, print only the coupons I know I’ll be needing, and have my laptop connected to my wireless printer so when I’m out somewhere using my laptop, I can send to print and it will print at my home printer.
That way I can check Southern Savers several times a day (I take my laptop to field trips, library stops, doctor’s appointments, etc. – basically everywhere I go!) and when Jenny posts a new coupon I can have it print at home! :)
I’d love to get a second printer to save ink on our all-in-one.
Always, always, always use the backside of paper ,anything you use ,what you get in the mail, even the back of all the papers your kids bring home ,stretch those dollars and create less waste!
To save when printing coupons, I set my default to B&W and I only print what I’ll definitely use.
It makes money saver amazing!
My printer is 8+ years old and printing is expensive and getting hard to find and cheap refills don’t work. I print on fast draft in black ink only and have an added preview feature in my printer settings so I know when I print a coupon, it will print the way I want it too.
Thanks for the chance Jenny !
Only print what u need. Print coupon on the back of last weeks shopping list. Print on draft on BW setting.
If you’re only printing one coupon, turn it over and print another on the other end of the paper later.
Sometimes when I’m printing one coupon at a time, I would turn the paper around to print another coupon so I can save some extra paper. This will print my coupons at the bottom part of the paper that’s empty.
I keep an eye out for free paper deals at Staples (make sure you fill out the rebate online!). I can’t tell you when I last paid for paper.
I have this same printer, WHERE do you find toner refill for $18?!!!!
Make sure to only print the coupons you will actually use and then be sure to USE them! I have printed coupons so many times and then found them later and they had already expired…ugh!
I would love to win a new printer. Thanks for the chance, Jenny!
I need a new printer sooo bad. I will change 4 cartridges after printing just a few pages These cost me $79.00 each time. I really am having a hard time convincing my husband that we need a new printer. Please help
I try to limit my printing to high-dollar coupons only, and in addition to that, i bring home garbage-scratch paper from work and use the blank side for the coupons
I print B&W and always flip the page over when printing on coupon at a time. Then I use the scraps for making lists, writing down addresses, etc.
Print as many coupons as you can on one sheet of paper. Print using economy print. And only print coupons if you know for sure that you will use them. Take everything in consideration especially the expiration date on them.
awesome!
I have killed 4 printers in my quest for great deals… I need something that can stand up to my printing needs!
Would love a new printer! We just got a new one recently but even after changing all settings to fast/draft and black ink only..it still prints in color all the time. We’re flying through ink.
Use a black and white laser printer to print coupons and refill your cartridge at your local Cartridge World. They will fill up the cartridge and it will last for months to a year.
I use the Office Max MaxPerk rewards on their paper deals to get the best deal on paper. I also use both ends of the paper when printing coupons to avoid waste.
Paper isn’t a big expense for me, thanks to all of the great deals on here. This ink is very expensive, just for coupon printing. I would love to try this printer.
If I print a coupon and it prints only one one side. I’ll stick the paper back in to print on the opposite end to print my second coupoon. Whenever possible I try to set the printer on economy printing, ie black ink.
I print only what I know I will use – try to use as much of the paper as possible. I also try to buy paper that is on sale or has a rebate. We turn in our old cartridges to get money back or off of the next cartridge purchase. :)
Love my Brother and my sister could sure use one too!
My money saving tip for printing is to buy my toner cartridges on sale :)
Would love a new printer…. My answer to your question would be, only print coupons you are going to use!! Thanks for the chance.
I print in black and white, on both sides of the paper & only print what I know I will use
I usually can get paper for $.01 at Staples and such when they have their easy rebates!!
I watch the printer closely and cancel the print immediately after it has printed the coupon so I won’t waste my ink and paper printing ads below the coupons.
I say use free or cheap paper, use only black and white. Don’t waste paper. If it doesn’t use a whole sheet to print your coupon, use the rest of the paper for something. Use the backs of ads and such that you don’t need.
I print!!
I only print coupons I know I will use and stop them from printing anything but the coupon.
I would love to have this printer.
Print only what I use and have my catridges refilled instead of buying them. Saves a few bucks!
Print just what I need….and refill my catridges instead of buying them. Saves a few bucks
In order to try to save money on printing I usually try to print on both sides if possible and print in black whenever possible. I would love to have a new printer because the cartridges for mine are very expensive!
Sometimes when you print coupons from a website they print the coupon on the top of the page and an ad, recipe, or some such at the bottom wasting paper that could have been used for printing 2 more coupons. To save paper i’ll goo to another of these sites O know is going to do the same thing and I’ll flip the page over and print another coupon on the bottom back of the page. All the left over paper after i’ve cut my coupons from the printer paper is used as confetti at parties or is recycled, and i make it a point to try to only get recycled printer paper.
I would love to have a printer like this !!
Thanks for the info about the printer. I had no idea a laser printer was so affordable.
When only 1 coupon is printed on a page, I turn it around and print on the other end.
Hoping to win this to start a coupon group at church!! Want to fill the St. Vincent De Paul Pantry with lots of bargains!!
I use the backs of papers I get in the mail to print coupons. The stores don’t seem to mind. Of course, you wouldn’t want to use anything with personal info on it but, junk mail yes! Saves on paper. I haven’t found a great way to save on ink yet…
When only 1 coupon prints on a page I cut it and have a stash of 3/4 size paper for my girls to use for their art projects (It is almost the perfect size for those crazy fingertip fortune teller things!)
Good luck to everyone!!
I have a printer like this & I LOVE IT! I would love to give this one to my sister for Christmas! She is really into couponing!
I wanna win one
I try to only print the coupons that I need and I turn off my color so that it prints in black ink only.
I am working on my MBA right now and I always have a good amount of money on my print balance at school so I print a lot of my coupons in the computer lab there! It’s part of my tuition costs so I’m putting it to good use! :) At home, I usually print on any paper I found around the house, junk mail, old handouts from school or church, etc. This helps keep my paper cost down.
This site has saved my family a lot of $…Thank You!
When you print the coupon and there is an advertisement I always use the stop/cancel button to ssave ink.
Making sure to use the ‘back’ button so I can get one more copy of the coupon!
Stop printing before the ad at the bottom prints, and collect scrap paper from everywhere and use it.
I refill my own ink (both colored/black/white) and buy paper when it is cheap. $1 a ream.
If only one coupon per page then I turn it over and print on the other end.
I print only what I plan to use and give my daughter the extra paper to create masterpieces with.
Thanks for the giveaway!!
Print in black/white and only print what you will use!
I was able yo set my printer, so it does not print as dark as it normaly would. Saves on ink alot, ike 2 pages for normally the 1.
Since I currently have only an inkjet, I only print coupons valued at $1.00 or more. And I only print them if I am DEFINITELY going to use it.
I only print coupons I know I will use and I try to print more than one per page.
Like most everyone else I use ALL of the paper I also change my printer settings to only print draft or some drives say economy. Of course some of printer drivers (and sorry I don’t remember which one) will print as it is set for that web site. I also put the date on the left side of the coupon so when I have to fold that coupon I don’t accidentally let it expire. I do also fill my own ink 3 or 4 times before I buy new cartridges. BUT If I won the Brother this would not be the case. Thanks SS for all you do and the give away EVEN If I don’t win!!. How can you go wrong with SS doing most of the WORK
Only print what you need!! Never use color!!
I only print in black and white ink :)
Got my printer on black Friday last yr for $20 at Walmart and the ink is only around $30 for black and color combo since I use it for school and. Y coupons of course :)
Most importantly I only print the coupons that I am likely to use and then I always reuse the scrap paper for more coupons :) !!!
Thanks, Jenny, for always keeping us up to date on how to save the most money — even when it comes to PRINTING our coupons!!
I too use all of the paper. I flip it to get it in the center then at the bottom. You can get three in one page. I only print those coupons that I am going to use. Ink is expensive!
what a great give away!
Use scrap paper, only print in black/white ink, and only print what you know you will use. Thanks Jenny!
ionly print what is needed the coupon.
My tip for saving money on printing coupons is to only print them as you need them. I keep a file of PDFs on my computer and go through them as needed.
print on the other side of paper..
I always remember to check the expiration dates by using my cell phone date reminder so the coupons won’t expire.
I use the back side of old print outs from work. And I work at an ink refill store so I get free ink! ;)
If i print a single coupon, i put the rest of teh sheet of paper back in the printer- and i also try to only print in black and white. also i keep the printer unplugged when the kids are on the computer, they tend to print things and throw them away.
Yay!! Wonderful ive away!
Would love the printer – Thanks!!!!!
I flip the paper so I can squeeze another coupon on there and I print in BW only :) This is an awesome giveaway and I thank SS for the chance to win.
I love the printable coupons. I can pick and choose and I can use my recycle paper to print them
coupons that are going to be used that day.
I save money by doing the Staples ink rebates and buying cheap paper!
I use the extra paper after cutting out the coupons for my kindergarteners to use at school.
I print in draft mode in b/w only on the back of scrap sheets. Would love a new printer! Thanks!!
only print what you use.
I print what I know I will use. I also willl print the big money coupons. even if I wont use it, I know I will know someone who will. Freebie for me and a bonus gift for a friend. :-)
A) Use the back of junk mail.
B) On the sheets that can print only two Qs I cut close with paper trimmer. When I come to another that will only print 1Q, I carefully slide that 4″ remnant all the way in. Very little waste.
I use both sides of the paper if I am only printing one coupon
def need a new printer, I try my best to only print what I know I will use!
Thanks for all your help. I found an older model at a thrift store for under ten dollars. It works but will soon need a new drum, which is twice as much as a new one on sale. But free would be the best.
i only print the ones i will use and i also print in draft mode :-) I would love this printer!!!!
I print my coupons on the backs of recycled letters, school work, etc. I won’t waste that paper, even if it was free from Staples! ;)
use both sides of paper
Thank u for all u do to help all of out to save money……the printer would b wonderful to have…I try really hard to use inch of the paper available, recycle paper and use the other side….
I use scrap-paper that is only printed on one side to print coupons on.
I use both sides of the paper when I only have one coupon to print on a page. I like to save paper any way I can!
only print what you know your family will use
check the blog each day, then you know what you need to get the deals!
I need a new printer so bad!!! Would live to have one of those!!
stop the printing after the coupon prints to avoid advertisments.
use the same paper to print on the oter side.
When I’m printing, whenever possible, I set the printing preferences to “black only”. Also, I change the printer speed to “fast normal”. Both of these options save on ink. Finally, I watch the printer when I’m printing out coupons, and if the coupon prints and then it begins printing an advertisement after it (which it sometimes does), I hit “cancel” on the printer so I don’t waste all that ink printing out something I don’t want.
use an ink kit to refill
I use both sides and try to fit as many coupons on each page. (usually up to 3)
I only print coupons as I am going to the store to use them – unless there is a coupon for something I buy weekly (i.e. diapers). Sometimes, I loose the coupon because the print limit gets reached, but I sure have DRAMATICALLY decreased the amount of expired printable that get thrown in my recycle bin. That and using the backside of the paper when printing only 1 coupon per page.
I print on both sides of the paper and only when I need the coupon to go shopping.
use paper that has a clear side from sales papers and other ads in the store.
use the cheap ink kits found on ebay.
Sounds great.
Use both sides of the paper and only print the coupons that you know that you will use.
A new Printer would be fabulous..I am a full time mom and college student and not always able to get to my printer since my husband works nights to support us.. My contribution is couponing to save us Money!!!
I use the paper left from coupons to writh shopping list.
I print only the coupons needed that day.
Love saving money!
This printer would be a dream come true. I have my fingers crossed.
Print tree coupons at a time to avoid the ads or use scratch paper
Use both sides of the paper
at my job we go through tons and tons of paper, and when ever I see it in the trash, 90 % of the time it has only been used on one side. Ask the boss one day, if he wanted to recycle it, He looked at me like I was form another planet, so I ask if he wouldn’t mind me recycling it, he said go ahead. So I take it home and reuse the other side, to bad I couldn’t do that with the office toner!!
I print using “fast normal” meaning it it low quality in black and white. I also only print what I know I am going to use.
If a coupon prints an advertisement, cancel the print right as the coupon is finished, then turn the paper over to print another.
I bought a black-and-white laser printer last year after reading your recommendation, Jenny. I love it! There is no going back to the inkjet printers. It is so much more economical. Thanks!
My printer is set to draft mode and only print in black and white
to print coupons i use black and white on the draft mode and print on both sides of the paper when possible.
Wanda Shipley, My best friend loves this printer. I would love to have one in my home.
I would love to have this printer!
When I print my coupons I always print using the fast draft option. This saves on ink.
I print coupons for all of my friends, too, and they help pay for new ink cartridges on my printer.
Only print what you know you will use.
I only print out what i am going to use and need.
print what you use – and i use scrap paper to save a few trees
I only print what I know I’m going to use, and I use the same sheet of paper for multiple coupons, but inserting it back in the feed to print on the bottom/back of the sheet (where it’s blank)
Print only the coupons you are going to use
I print as “draft” and use two sides.
i follow on fb and would LOVE new printer. we actually don’t have a working printer rightnow. so it would benefit us GREATLY!
Print what you need…
Print coupons on the (plain) flip side of old print-outs====and always in b&w only.
I print on recycled paper. At work we use a lot of paper, things that are not confidential, we put in recycle, I get permission to take home and use to print my coupons on. We shred all our confidential stuff and a lot of it goes in my garden!
I always print coupons in black & white and use the “fast” print option
I print on the back of scrap paper whenever possible.
I have this printer and it does a great job with printing coupons. I would like to know where to get the refill high yield cartridge because I always get a new one and it is between $45 – $85 depending on the size I get.
I only print coupons I know I’ll use – or high dollar coupons that I know will come in handy and be out of print when they go on sale.
I also print coupons on scrap paper too…saves tons of paper.
I use the back side of paper that can be reused and I refill the cartridges on the printer i currently have
To save money while printing coupons I print more than one coupon on each piece of paper.
I use the backside of ALL scrap paper.
I have been on a quest to find the best printer. The one I have now is cheap for refills but they do not last long. My money saving tip is to print in black and white on draft setting and I turn the paper around to print on the back of the coupon already printed.
Print on both sides of the paper.
more than one coupon on each page
Only print the coupons you need for the moment. Use the draft feature on your printer as it uses less ink. Always print at least 3 coupons per sheet of copy paper to avoid space waste! Shop around for printer ink such as Ebay or Amazon for the best deals or use refillable ink!
Use front and back when the coupon prints on the top and then has a picture/ad on the bottom of page!
thank you for the chance to win one!!
Have your printer set to fast draft so it doesn’t use as much ink!
I do not cut the coupons out til right before i use them that way if i dont use i can reuse paper on the back. I also hit cancel if they print and advertisement at the bottom of the page!
Try to print at least 3 coupons at a time.
Don’t print coupons for items you don’t use or need. Print in black and white.
I don’t print coupons unless I am pretty sure I will use them
I try to reuse the paper if I dont use up the whole page or try to print 3 at a time.
i also print on the back of any paper i have ( it is called recycling lol)
wait until ink on goes on sale, buy bulk, or 20% off ink @ Best Buy on Wednesday’s! I also use recycled paper or even sometimes notebook paper or construction paper (lol) I dont believe in wasting! I have even made my own paper like i did in school!
I print on the back of papers that come home from school, and only pay <$1 for a reem of paper at staples!
I really don’t have a tip.. My tip is I let my husband take care of buying the ink and paying for it.. then I don’t have to know about it.. hahahaha
I take the color ink out of my printer so it can only print black/white…and I set it on the Eco print setting…but sometimes it gives a crappy print and the coupons don’t scan.
I use alot of the same saving techniques that are mentioned. Buy larger ink refills and use store saving coupons , like $10 off $$ amount.
try to print insets of three so you maximize the use of paper. And change the printer settings to loq quality so your printer dont use as much ink. Trust me, the coupon is clear enough to scan and more ink left for more coupons!
Change printer setting to use less ink.
I do all of the above, but also flip the paper over if I only print 1, so I can get another one on the same sheet.
Print in fast draft, grayscale and print as many coupons per page as possible.
print in grayscale
Print in draft form
Only print what I think I will use
I reuse paper until I can no longer use it.
Fast and economical printing using grayscale.
I recently cleaned out my closets and found several binders from college full of power point print outs. They only had print on one side so I emptied out all the binders and kept the pages that didn’t have ink on both sides and use them to print my coupons on. I am not kidding when I say my stack is 4 inches high.
When I do print coupons and don’t fill up the page I’ll cut the coupon off the top and put the piece of paper back into the printer to print on later.
My husband thinks I’m crazy because we have two reams of paper that we got for free but I feel using my old college print outs is being the least wasteful.
I wait for paper to be free after rebate at office supply stores to stock up.
I CHECK SOUTHERN SAVERS EVERYDAY!!! That way I know I’m printing only the things I need. I make sure I use both sides of the paper, I use any paper from school that may be usable and I only print what I will use. I purchase my ink through ebay where I have found it to be the cheapest (at least for my printer). THANK YOU SOUTHERN SAVERS FOR EVERYTHING YOU DO!!!
I grayscale and reuse paper if possible.
I refeed the paper to print top and bottom.
When printing only 1 or 2 coupons, I cut the printed coupon from the paper and then put the shorten piece of paper back through the printer for another coupon print.
I try to print only the coupons I will use, I print in grayscale, and I reuse paper when possible. :)
The best money saving tip is to sign up for Southern Savers emails which
alert you to the newest coupons and then decide which ones are the best value
to print for only the items you know you will use.
I have been wanting one of these printers forever but haven’t had the extra money.
I try and use both end of the paper if only printing one at a time. when I print a single coupon it prints at one end of the paper. The next time I have a single coupon to print I turn the paper around and print at the other end.
I try and use both end of the paper if only printing one at a time. when I print a single coupon it prints at one end of the paper. The next time I have a single coupon to print I turn the paper around and print at the other end.
Save ink cartridges from friends and family, return to Staples @ $2.00 rewards each up to 5 per month. Watch for Staples coupons and get ink at rock bottom prices with coupon and Staples rewards.
I print in grayscale and reuse any paper. :))
I resue papaer and print in greyscale
I buy my paper at Staples using their rebate program. So I usually get a ream of paper for free up to $1.00.
I desperately need one of these printers to print coupons. The printers I have now have all died. Right now, I do not have a working printer. So, I am missing out on all the good deals. Please, please pick me.
I try to print in draft mode when I can, and in Blk & Wht.
Thx,
Pat Grant
I use half sheets that I have clipped coupons off of (so many times I only want one) and try my darndest to remember when I only have a half sheet in the printer if I want to print more than will fit on the half sheet.
My employer is fantastic and lets me print coupons on my lunch hour and he also allows me to mail the expired coupons I print and do not use to my military family. I only print from home when I don’t have want I need. I am blessed.
I print on both sides of the paper on opposite ends when printing single coupons.
If I don’t use the coupons I’ve printed, I reprint on the back of the page. If I use the coupon, I use the left over part of the page to write my list on.
Print in grayscale, I also reuse paper and only print what I can use.
I use already used paper (like last week’s southern savers shopping list) and I always print on both sides to get the most use out of my paper. I also ALWAYS print in black and white, saves so much money! :)
I flipped the paper around and print again. Makes it 2 coupon on the front.
This would make my couponing more affordable. Our photo printer eats ink
I flip the paper over if I’m only printing one coupon so another will print at the other end of the sheet.
I only print what I think I can use and print multiple coupons on each page when possible.
I only print in black and white and I try to print multiple coupons from the same site so that they will print on the same page.
I keep my printer settings on grayscale and fast, economic setting.
ALWAYS flip over to print the 2nd Q, and black & white always!!! :)
When I am only printing one coupon, I will flip the sheet over to print another coupon on the other end.
I print in grayscale and at the ‘fast’ setting to use as little ink as possible.
I try not to go printer crazy so i dont at the the end of the month have coupons that i never used. =(
I learned a trick I saw on youtube. Cover the window of the cartage will increase the live of the ink cartage.
i print in grayscale
I would really like to have this i have a lot of problems out of my printer i have here now if i dont win i will go buy one soon!
Print in grayscale & LIKE “Southern Savers” on facebook
I print in grayscale, and try to print about 3 coupons per sheet.
Grayscale, print in draft mode and flip the paper 180 degrees to use as much of the sheet as possible.
I only print coupons when I’m pretty sure I will be using them. The only ones I print without knowring for sure are the really high value coupons (like recent $3 off batteries and $5 off razors), ones that are bound to make a great deal, and prints will not last long. By doing this, I have really cut down on wasted printables.
I only print in black and white and get my black cartridge refilled. I also flip my pages over and print on the other side. :-)
I print on the back of recycled paper
I set my ink jet printer to black ink only and draft mode.
Be selective about which coupons you print (don’t print a coupon that you already got in the paper) and only print what you will use…
I use the back of scrap paper.
If you print a single coupon, turn the paper around to print on the opposite end when you print the 2nd copy of the coupon!
moderator got mine some how. I reccomend printing coupons as follows one on top and flip and one on the opposite end if ads appear below and if no ads i can then ad a print from target if i choose one at a time it will print in the middle so three coupons for one sheet with printer on ink saving mode and order ink from amazon or others as such there discounted and work just as well for inkjet and toner printers
I print in greyscale!
I purchase recycled ink cartridges that are only a tenth of what the name brand costs.
I REALLY NEED THIS! I love coupons and this site!
I really need this! I love coupons and this site!
Would love a better printer! Thanks Jenny!
I need a good printer.
I turn and flip the paper to save more paper and I print in black and white.
the key seems to be finding the right printer that prints high quantity sheets with low cost print cartridges. I have been paying way too much for cartridges with the X brand printer that I have. Would love to upgrade :)
I tend to print as I need unless it is something that I know will be going on sale soon and then I print as they come out.
My tip for printing is if you are not using a whole page I will turn the paper in the other direction and print another coupon thereby saving on paper. I hate throwing away a half a sheet. And as far as ink goes I turn my catridges into Staples for rewards, which helps get some of the money back for the cost of ink; and I only print the coupons I think I will use.
Only print black and white!
I used recycled scrap paper and print on the back of it.
My money saving tip for printing coupons is to always be on the lookout for specials at the stores and of course look at Southern Savers for special deals. Then I print the coupons I need to get the best deal I can at the different stores in town.
I set my printer to draft and black and white, however for some reason the coupons always print in color
I only print coupons in Black and White.
I print on the back of scrap papers. Most of the scrap paper that I use comes from my children’s used worksheets or notes that come home from school.
If I’m only printing a few coupons, I will just cut the top part off and resuse the bottom part of paper. For those coupons that use the whole paper for their advertisements, I will use the back of the paper. I only print what I’m going to buy.
I have my printer set to black & white, low quality printing, but I also listen as it prints & hit ‘cancel’ after I hear it go across 5 times. That keeps it from printing a full page of useless product info & pictures.
To save ink when I’m printing coupons I set the printer on quick print. Lots less in and they still work.
My money saving tip is after printing one coupon flip the paper to print another that way you will have two to three coupons on one sheet of paper. Save the trees and always use black ink.
I love southern savers!
I try to print more than one coupon per page
Mine is to actually use them. When I first started out, I got way ahead of myself and printed a ton of coupons that I didn’t end up using. Now I’ve learned and use all that I print :)
I print on both sides (top and bottom) for single print coupons. I also only print in black and white.
Make sure you cover (electrical tape, paint, sharpie), the “window” on the side of your toner cartridges.
This will confuse the low toner sensor and you’ll get WAY MORE pages per cartridge.
Please explain better, mine says its low now and I keep printing. also Ithink I paid too much at Best buy for toner on this same printer she is giving away. It was about $38.. I think I got ripped. where do I order toner for cheaper?????????
I try to always print more than one coupon per page.
I try to always print more than one coupon per page.
I try to always print more than one coupon per page.
I try to print only in black & white & only the coupons that get gone really fast. If I can wait for them to be in the circulars, I do so.
I try to print only in black & white & only the coupons that get gone really fast. If I can wait for them to be in the circulars, I do so.
I make sure I acutally use the coupons I print and print them draft form.
I make sure I acutally use the coupons I print and print them draft form.
Use the coupons that you print!
Use the coupons that you print!
At work, I print in grescale and use scrap paper as much as possible. Anything I print and don’t need , I add it to my scrap pile to use for quick notes and to do lists instead of always using sticky notes. I dint have a personal printer right now so I can’t print coupons. :(
My money saving tip for printing coupons is to reuse your paper! Take your scrap paper and use the blank side to print your coupons. You’ll save a ton of money on paper!
When printing coupons that are only one per page, I turn the paper over and print the opposite side also before cutting….helps a lot for saving paper.
I REALLLLY NEEED THIS PRINTER!!!!!! I PRINT COUPONS EVERYDAY!!!!!! THIS WILL SAVE ME A LOOOOOOT OF MONEY! I PAY $40 FOR MY LEXMARK PRINTER!!! THIS WILL SAVE ME MONEY AND INK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
make sure printer is set to draft mode
I never really get to print any online coupons.. Don’t want to use up my husband’s printer ink, as we only have the one printer. Would be great to have my OWN printer!!
Would love it!
Print in grayscale and print both sides=)
MY MONEY SAVING TIP IS TO PRINT OUT THE COUPONS THAT I NEED AND SHOP AROUND FOR THE BEST SALES!!!!!!! IF THERE ARE COUPONS AND I KNOW I WILL EVENTUALLY NEED THOSE ITEMS I GO AHEAD AND GET THEM. I MAKE SURE I TAKE MY CALCULATOR WITH ME SO I CAN SEE MY SAVINGS!!!!
My suggestion is to only print the coupons that you will use and to print in black and white. And, of course, to use this printer. I would love this printer because I am getting my Specialist degree and have to print out a lot of articles :)
Always use fast draft (black ink only) and fit as many coupons as possible onto 1 sheet of paper
Grayscale is great!
Print in draft or grey scale to save ink.
Thanks for the chance to win!

save your scrap paper to print your coupons on!
I used my laser printer, so many more pages for the money, until it died last week. Can’t be fixed. I also buy my toner cartridges on ebay, been buying from the same ebay store for years. I save about 80% on toner. Buy my paper when the office supply stores have it really cheap with rewards and stock up.
A friend of mine has her own business. When she updated her price lists, I got all the old ones. Free paper and lots of it.
I usually cut my copy paper in half before printing a coupon–most coupons do not
take up the full sheet–I rarely have problems with the paper jamming–it really makes
a package of paper go a long way
I use the fast setting on my printer and also try to print as needed unless there’s a really great coupon I don’t want to miss.
My money saving tip is to get as many coupons printed on one sheet of paper as you. For example, if I have a coupon that printed a recipe plus the coupon on the entire front sheet, I will not be using the recipe. In order to save paper, I turn my paper over and print a new coupon on the other side that was not printed on. Hope this makes sense.
use amazon gift cards from swagbucks to buy ink.
Grayscale, save any scrap paper, since some of the coupons print on half of the page, save the other half to print out other coupons!
I love southern savers. they are a true blessing to my family of 8! I don’t have a printer yet but hope to get one soon.
Print on both side of paper and only print coupons you think you will use.
If only 1 coupon prints on a piece of paper, I will cut the coupon off and save the rest of the page for future coupon printing or save them for scratch paper for my kids for homework. I also use the backs of papers that I have laying about, without personal or important info on them, of course.
I use the back of paper that I have already printed on, so the paper gets used twice.
I use the back of paper that I have already printed on, so the paper gets used twice.
I use the back of paper that I have already printed on, so the paper gets used twice.
Print w/black ink only, 3 at a time, or at least 2 per page (send paper back thru for 2nd print).
Print w/black ink only, 3 at a time, or at least 2 per page (send paper back thru for 2nd print).
I will print multiple coupons on one sheet if only one actually prints on that sheet. I will also use the excess paper to make my grocery list!
I love southern savers and share it with all of my friends and family!!!
my money saving idea is check with Jenny at southern savers daily. She knowns where the deals are and what coupons go with it. I couldn’t make it with out you. I love saving money with Jenny and all of you who post on here to help us all. The sharing is great. I use a colored printer and boy does it suck up the ink. Would love to win the Brother black and white printer.
I only print black and white, reuse paper if I can, and if you’re lucky you can find a place like my apartment complex that lets you print for free as long as you bring your own paper!! And a lot of the times people leave scrap sheets that you can just use! So it basically costs you nothing to print coupons!
My money saving deal is to try and print coupons in 3’s that way you will not waste paper
Print only what u need.
Only print black and white.
I’d love to win this printer! My husband recently bought me one that is also a duplex (not quite as cheap). I love it for a coupon and general purpose printer. I have a couple friends in mind who would love to get this for a gift if I won it… Thanks!
I print and reuse the other side and then use the space in the middle after cutting coupons for note taking. Thanks
Print only the coupons you will use first, and then as you see different sales each week print the ones you wouldn’t have otherwise used. :)
I will use scrap paper and I try to print in threes so the whole sheet is used. I also use the”quick copy” because it uses less ink.
I check my settings and put it on the lightest setting or on black and white only (if I’m out of black ink I do the very light color). Both ways show up and are still scanable. Also if it only prints off one per sheet I flip it around and use the other end on the opposite side of the first print so that if I don’t cancel a print before it gets through with the ad too I can still use both coupons.
I need to print more economically. I’m not succeeding now.
If the option exists, I try to print as many coupons on one page as possible by checking multiple boxes, I use economy settings on my printer, and try to find ink/paper on sale.
buy ink in bulk and refill cartridges
I save money on paper by my in-laws giving me excess paper from work.
I print as many coupons as possible on one sheet.
I only print coupons that I know I will use.
I always look for coupons for things I want or need that are already on sale!!!
I can always use a good printer to help save. Thanks for the give away and the great site!!
I have learned not to print every coupon I see. I try to only print ones I know that I will use or that are high value.
Print as many coupons on one page and only print what I know I will use.
I have an HP ink jet printer, and because ink is expensive, I print everything the cheapest way. I go to my printer settings, then the advanced tab, and change my color settings to black ink only, and the quality to quick draft. Then I save the setting to the term “coupons”, and set that setting as my default. Every time I print my coupons they are now printed with the least amount of black ink.
In addition, I ordered an ink refill kit off the internet, and after watching a YouTube video I was able to reload my ink cartridges THREE times. HUGE savings there!
Good luck!
I try and print as many coupons as i can on one sheet, and any excess paper gets recycled as grocery list paper, notepads, or drawing paper for my three year old. It may not be helping with me to print coupons more economically, but it saves me in other ways instead!
I print only high value coupons since my printers ink is so expensive!
If it is only one coupon printing, I will turn the paper around and run it back through when I am printing another “one coupon” print.
I always run in “draft” mode and black ink only so I don’t use as much ink. Also, instead of printing on new paper, I have several reams of letterhead paper from a business that went out of business. I print on the back side of this paper- the blank side. Works GREAT for coupons!!
Oh no!!! I hit enter before putting my face book name in. Ashleigh Savage = Ashleigh Hunter. Now on to the comment…. I just started couponing seriously and I went half way through my ink since the 28th of August. BLAH I’m sure there are a few tricks i can pick up if I read all these comments. P.S. PICK ME FOR THE PRINTER PLEASE!!!!!!! :)
All the papers that come home from school, recycle by putting it through your coupon printer and reuse it.
I only print something when it links to an item on sale or for something I always buy. Minimizes printing.
When a coupon uses the whole page for ads put it back in you paper tray and use the back bottom half for another coupon ;o)
I only print coupons I know I’m going to use, and try to print in black and white when I can.
I buy non-name brand refill toner on Amazon
My old Laserjet is printing very poorly now. I would love to have the Brother to replace it.
I’m in the market for a new printer. Trying to save a few dollars, I did one of those injector refills with my printer, and …woah. The mess! Also ruined my shirt, so I think I didn’t really save all in all!
Fast draft and black ink only works for me! The coupons run through my color ink so quickly since you can’t stop them from sending them directly to your printer. Any tips to change this? When the color runs out, the colored picture/text leaves a blank space. I’ve never had a problem using them though!
Click Start, printer/faxes, right click on default printer, click printing preferences, click color tab, In color options box check to print in grayscale & Black catridge only, click ok to save. Your set :)
when printing single coupons i re-feed the paper so that there is one on the top and the bottom of the sheet and not overlapping. or i will re-feed and print on the back of any junk paper i might have lying around
Use refilled ink cartridges
for printing coupons i always try to print in groups of 3 and use black ink only if possible.
Use refilled ink cartridges
I use paper that has already been printed on one side (from school reports or letters in the mail, etc)
Recycle as much paper as I can.
I take the little pieces of paper that I cut around the coupon and save them in a large bin, then at Christmas or on birthdays I can crinkle it and use it as filler instead of having to buy bags of it~
I usually do a quickprint in grayscale and make sure to only print coupons I know for sure I will use.
Look for High Dollar coupons that will make the item frr or make it a money maker!
Get the kiddos on board! Integrate math, spelling and social studies while clipping coupons! Makes FUN FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY!
@0b29a01d9887fe7a47a4994ba17876e9:disqus
Our kiddos clap each time we save money and love to help us collect extra newspapers from neighbors!
I try to *cancel* printing if it sounds like there’s an ad attached.. always flip paper and print twice! :)
flip paper around and print twice to get double use!
Even after I’ve cut the coupon, I stick the smaller sheet of paper back in printer to reuse.
Use the backside of flyers from work, reminders from school,
and page that had to be reprinted because of spell checks/grammar problems.
I have enjoyed reading the tips of the other entrants! I will be using some of their ideas soon! My tip is like others really- I try to print only the coupons I know I will use and I print on recycled papers from work.
print in black/wihte, use top and bottom of paper (flip) when possible, Print in groups of three if you can, recycle what ever is not usable. Only print coupons that you will use.
I print 3 coupons at a time so it doesn’t wast paper and I only print coupons for things I will use
Only print in black and white, if it prints out on half sheet I always turn paper and print another coupon, and only print what you are going to use (what Jenny tells me to :))
Print only what you know you will use. Use the left over paper to print more coupons or your grocery list. Cancel the print if there is an ad attached below the coupon.
I print on both sides of a piece of paper paying attention to the placement on each side and how coupons are positioned.
I have been looking into getting another printer. Thanks for the valuable info!!
I print on both sides of the paper to save on printing jobs.
lyndadawinda1074 at yahoo dot com
Print only coupons u will use and print in black and white only..
I reuse just about any paper that has a blank side, mail, papers sent home from school, etc I even use colored paper (except red which is very hard to read). I also set my print properties to the lowest setting which uses a lot less ink. I don’t print dime a dozen coupons like yougurt ect, that are in nearly every coupon insert.
I try my best to print three coupons per page to save paper and ink.
1. Always get my paper for free at staples or office depot.
2. Best price on ink through ebay.
3. Recycle all paper (even colored paper), use both sides top & bottom, print 3 qs per page, 6 per page on rite aid VV.
4. Only print what I need.
5. Recycle my catridges at Staples to earn rewards to buy more paper.
6. Any extra paper from cutting qs i use as scratch paper to take notes on, etc.
7. Only print in grayscale.
8. Keep computer & printer turned off when not in use.
Try always to print 3 Q’s per page. If I print a single – I flip the page and print a double on the other side. I print the shopping list for publix, Walgreens, CVS etc. with all the matchups. I save them after I do my shopping and print Q’s on the other side. I figure newpaper inserts have print on the other side – why not my printed Q’s. thanks for all you help Jenny. Hope these hints help someone else. Please pick me to win the printer.
I love Brother products! Not only are they great quality, they are also reliable and affordable! Awesome giveaway! Hope I win :)
Great tips here!! I thought I was smart just using the back side of paper or just flipping it around when printing the single coupons, but I see I have more to learn!
Print in black/white
3 coupons to page
Recycle paper scraps
Print only what is needed
Recycle ink cartridges
Would love to switch from Kodak to Brother!
I really need a printer. I go to the library to print and its .10 cents a page and some coupons print only 1 per page and I hate that because of the cost and waste of paper. I really need this printer… thanks for all the information you give and time you put into this site…
I used to have a Brother printer at work, it was my favorite printer. Would really like this one for printing coupons at home. Thanks for the chance to win and for your AMAZINGLY helpful website!!
I always try to save on paper and ink. I print on the back of my old grocery lists and I watch when my coupons are printing to make sure that ads don’t print after the coupon. When I see an ad start to print, I hit stop on my printer so i don’t waste the paper or ink.
If I print a coupon that has empty space at the bottom, I flip the page so that I can get another coupon on the other side and save some paper.
I’ve learned to only print the coupons that I know I’ll need… otherwise, they tend to expire before I use them.
Print in black and white (which i still have to figure out how to do on my new mac)
My husband found a great deal on ink for our printer on ebay!
Would love to have one!
Print in black and white with the “fast draft” or “economy” setting
I use the back of all paper for printing coupons instead of throwing it away. I buy paper with rebates. I also cut the paper if only one coupon prints and reuse rest of paper.
Print in black & white!
use coupons and don’t throw them!!!
When I print coupons that come just one on a page, I turn the page over and print another one on the back.
Love the unity of the frugal ones :)!!! sharing ideas & deals is wonderful, Thanks!!
Printing in b&w and using the draft setting on the printer saves ink, use the remaining paper for scratch paper for lists, notes, etc.
if the items printed only prints on part of the page I cut the clean part off and let my daughter color on it.
I always use the scrap paper to make my lists.
I love this printer and I LOVE your blog!
I use the leftover paper from the coupon printout page to write my lists. I only print what I need in coupons as well.
Print as many coupons on one sheet, only in black and white, and print on the backs of my kid’s school papers. ha ha! :)
Print as many coupons on one page as you can. Only print the coupons you know you will be using.
My money saving tip is turning the page around after you’ve printed one coupon. That way you don’t have to use a whole other new sheet for your next coupon.
I only print what I will use. If it is something I can get for free I print and donate it to charity. Two children in college, I keep them and their friends in “dorm” staples. Thanks Southern Savers.
Print on both sides when you can to save paper.
I print on the back of paper that is usually thrown away! And always in black only. Save paper and ink!
I try to print multiples on a page, or I cut the partial sheet to use to print other coupons.
i hope i win this i print on the back of paper tha tis usually thrown away too
could so use a new printer, my printer is 5 years old and the ink is so expenseive…. I use any and all scraps to print paper, colored, etc…
I just killed my old printer. Looking for a printer that can take the pressure.
I use recycled paper from everywhere–kids unused notebooks, old notepads, etc.
my money saving tip is I only print the hard to find coupons as first, then print the others as I need them. I also make sure I only print in black and white as my default so I dont forget! Would love a new printer!
Only print the ones you’ll use!
I initially print the high dollar, hard to find coupons. Then I print as I need them. I only print in black and white, and I save the remaining portion of paper after I’ve cut them (if it was a piece of paper that only had one q on it), and give them to my daughter for all her art work. She loves art and loves to recycle so it’s a win win.
* I always get my paper for free, * Shop for best ink price,
* Recycle (reuse) all paper,
* Print ONLY what there is a chance I’ll use (and some high value Q’s),
* I always try to print in black and white,
* I recycle my cartridges for credit to buy more of what I need to print coupons
* I don’t cut printed coupons until I need them so I can recycle the paper if I don’t,
* AND come on ladies and gents, I know some of you do this… DO NOT PHOTOCOPY COUPONS OVER AND OVER, it uses up ink and paper, and last time I checked the fine print, it’s ILLEGAL, (on most Q’s)… and in the long run, the rest of us will be penalized for it with tougher restrictions, lesser value Q’s, etc.
For starters I print in B&W second I only print coupons I know I will use or if they will make a 95% savings deal and know they will print fast I will print them out. I noticed coupons always come around every 6-8 weeks so I don’t try to print them all out.
‘tip: Sign in to this news letter and also name brands newsletter as they sometimes give limits on some of there samples/free items and even cpns. ..so that way you’ll ge ahead of the system.
only print coupons you will probably use! I’ve thrown away a lot of printables.
I always print in B&W…I need to SAVE wherever I can these days. Plus I only print what I will use, so others can scoop up the coupons as well. TY
i only cut printed coupons when ready to use, If for some reason I don’t use the coupons I print new ones on the other side. also, i print in draft mode to save ink.
Publix doesn’t accept coupons in “draft mode” anymore. If the ink is too light to scan they won’t accept it while before they just typed it in. They assume that y’all are copying the coupons. That “Extreme Couponing” program screwed it up for everyone! Publix used to take CVS and Walgreen’s coupons but now since that show they won’t accept any pharmacy coupons. Does Walmart?
I purchase ink online when Ebates offers double cash back
Buy paper and ink when on sale.
Print in B&W and only ever use the ‘quick print’ option. Only print coupons I know I’m going to use.
I had a lot of Best Buy Reward Zone points after we moved into a new house and had to buy a bunch of new stuff to fill it – so I use those to buy the ink for my printer :)
Happy Sunday and I hope everyone got there inserts
I would love this! Great giveaway!!!
Great giveaway…good luck everyone!
Great giveaway…good luck everyone!
When printing out coupons, I use only black ink, which is cheaper. Also, I only print coupons for items my family already uses, unless I can pair coupons for something they might use. I recently bought a double pack of ink at Target and got a gift card with it. That was a good deal for something I needed anyway.
Always scour the inserts in your sunday paper!
seems like the same advice but i only print in b&w, only print the coupon as i match up my list for each store, this way i don’t waste paper, ink and time on coupons that won’t get used. i also return my used cartridges to staples for money back on my new ones. and recycle the ‘trimmings’ from the coupons that are cut, they make great ‘notes’ paper to jot down things i need as i remember them. keep a stack along with a pen in your most often used rooms of the house. i keep mine in the kitchen and where sit at my computer!
Print in black and white; print only the coupons you are going to use; print on free or nearly free paper picked up during back to school sales or special offers from Staples or Office Max
I only print what I will use.
Thanks,
migdaliamart at gmail dot com
Print b and w only and print only the coupons you need-what you have matched up to your list….no more throwing away coupons you did not use. Also use old grocery lists for scrap paper or have the kids find words and circle them…ok…they might only do this the first couple of times!
I only print the coupons I need and recycle all my scrap paper.
use scrap paper to print on
I only print what I need on scrap paper.
i turn my paper over and print on back and use scrap paper!
I don’t have a printer so this would be great!!!
Print in black ink on scrap paper
My tip is to use legal size paper. Print one coupon, cutting straight across the paper and then put it back through the printer and do the same thing. I get three per page as long as you dont have a paper tray with your printer
We print on our brother 2040- but WHERE do you get cartridges for $18-20? We spend about $60 on a cartridge.
I would love to have a printer like that! Mine is so expensive to buy the ink for. I dont print very many coupons for this very reason…
We found ink refills on Ebay to cut the cost of the refills.
buy ink when jenny posts 123 ink has sales end go thru e bates
This would be great. My ink is very expensive.
Getting this printer would be sooo nice. I use scrap paper, use conserve ink setting and print in black and white when I can but still seem to go through the ink too fast. Thanks for chance to win.
My tip is to reuse your paper on each side. Also you can print two coupons on each page by printing one on top and one on bottom, and after you have printed on either side then to cut. You can change your print settings to grey-scale and that will cut your cartridge costs : )
I print on both sides of a sheet of paper if i am only printing one coupon at a time.
When I see that a coupon has stopped printing and there is only an advertisement that is printing I quickly go to STOP on my pringer.
I only print what coupons will use and I only use black /white ink, this save on my color cartridge!
A money saving tip I’ve learned when printing coupons is printing them in “Fast Draft” instead of “high quality” etc. Saves ink and time.
My tip is dont make the same mistake I did!!!! Read before you buy a printer and dont buy one where the ink cost more than what you paid for the printer!!!!! Be careful!!!!
You can print coupons on the back of your junk mail. :)
My tip is to recycle your ink cartridges, I use lexmark….they give you a free one for every 5 you send back
To save money and time, be sure to print only the coupons you will really use.
I try to use the scrap left over when printing a coupon from a manufacturer’s website.
I try to be careful to only print coupons that I am sure that I am going to use.
Print high dollar coupons right away as these seem to go quickly. Also, if you find coupons for a favorite item, print as many as you can (usually two) from different computers.
I am a college students. Printing coupons helps me save so much money while in school! I print coupons on the front and backs of papers. I try to turn the paper different ways when printing to fit as many as I can on one piece.
Sometimes you can print coupons on the front half of a piece of paper and flip it around in the opposite direction and print a coupon on the back too!
I only print coupons for things that I know I would buy, and then I select all those coupons at the same time, and print them all at the same time, so it is not printing one coupon per page, but several on one page. On the occaisions that I have to print one coupon on a page, I use the paper cutter at work to cut the cupon off and keep the paper line straight, and then re-use that lower scrap for any other one cupon prints I need.
I could use a new printer to help save on printing my coupons!
I always try to use both sides of the paper when printing out coupons.
I use black and white and try to only print ones i know I will use
Get your ink refilled at an ink store!
I would love this for home, or my classroom since we have to provide our own toner for our printers, as well as our own paper.
I used compatible toners to save money on ink.
I only use certain coupons , but i clip all i get in newspapers and magazines and pass them on to my daughter- in- law and other family members . I only print the coupons on websites i know for sure myself or family members use.
winning a printer would be awesome, seeing how i dont have one. i have always wanted one so my family of five can start saving money. So we would appreciate it greatly. Thanks for the chance to win something that would better our lives.
I take my used printer cartriges to Walgreens and have them refilled! I also have coupons for 50% off when I do this! Usually makes it around 6.50 to refill!!!
Print in black and white when possible…I also use the smallest font when printing my list and delete any coupons from the list that I don’t need
I love to print coupons-however sometimes they don’t print very well and the cashiers don’t like to take those. I’ve found that if I set my printing preferences to a higher quality and use better paper they scan more easily. -Of course this uses more ink, so I set my printer to print grayscale so only the black toner is used.
I’d love to win a new printer. Right now I have to skip all the deals that involve printing coupons.
Our old printer stopped working- I would love to be able to print coupons again!
I could really use a new printer! I use the front and back of my paper to print coupons and try to print the high value q’s that I know I will use together so they will all print on one page. I also try to have my ink refilled at Walgreens or Bi-Lo will send them off to refill them. We use so much ink in our family since I am in college and I also have a son in college and one in middle school. My work will give me paper also that has been used and I use the back to print coupons!
sounds like a great printer!
I need a new printer. Mine prints at its own descrection so I never know if I am going to get hte coupons or not, I just take a chance. Winning one of thses would be GREAT!!!!
I’d love to win! I print some coupons at work, but I don’t like to do this much because it’s at my job. So being able to print them from home would be nice. Also my husband could use it for his college stuff!

I went to one of your workshops & fell in love with you & your savings information. I would recommend your workshop to everyone. Thanks for the opportunity to win this economical printer. The ink cartridges for the printer I own are expensive & print very few copies; therefore, I print very few coupons. If I won this printer, I would be able to share it with my daughter. We both would be able to save more money.
Save money with a printer like this and only print coupons as you are ready to use them unless it’s high value and you KNOW you are going to use it.
Be organized! It’s easy to print print print and have coupons misxed in with to-do lists, recipes, and other what nots floating on your desk. There ‘s nothing worse that touching the same pieces of paper multiple times and then not being able to find them when you need them.
This is an awesome give away! I’m really excited about it!
Print only the coupons you know you will use.
I print on econo fast and only print the ones I KNOW I will use
I only print the ones I know I’ll use.
My money saving tip for printing coupons is recycle paper and print on other side.
I try to print only coupons I know that I or someone else will use. If it is a coupon that might be around, I try to wait to print it. That way, I know I am going to be at the store and have an opportunity to use it!
I have this printer. It is pretty good for the price. How do you get the toner at a good price? In stores or online? Where? Thanks.
I love Southern Savers and I love coupons which means I would love a new printer!
When I am printing a single coupon, I refeed the paper through my printer so that it prints another one on the same page. If I don’t need the coupons right away, I’ll keep printed pages w/ 1-2 coupons on them then feed them through my printer accordingly to print another 1 or 2 coupons on the page. When I have a full page, it’s time to cut & file them. If I print a coupon w/ an ad following it, I simply turn the paper over & refeed it through my printer so I can print coupons on the backside of the ad. I also bring used paper from work home & print coupons on the back of it.
i wait for the supplies to be on sale at staples
I print multiple coupons at once so the ads don’t print and waste ink!
Several Co-workers and I all search sites together to print coupons we each need. We note what each person wants and then print a cumulative of coupons and share. This allows us to get more coupons for each product we want
I only print those that I know my family will use so I don’t waste paper which saves paper.
I try to reuse any unused portions of the paper, and print only the coupons I will use.
I print only the coupons I am sure to use. Also I print my coupons on scrap paper and print multiple coupons to be sure to fill up pages.
The only way to save ink is to not print everything. I print what I am pretty sure I will use then wait for a ‘deal’ and hope some printables are left when I need them. This usually works.
Would love a new printer!!!!!
My printing tip is to print on the draft setting and I grab the paper from the recycle bin at work and use the clean side.
I NEED a new printer!!
I never pay more than $2 for a ream of paper. Thanks to Southern Savers.
I try to print as many coupons as I can on one sheet of paper! It helps on saving paper!
I haven’t been couponing as much as I need to due to the lack of a printer! Please, please pick me!!!!
I try and print on scrap paper when possible!
I haven’t been printing many coupons because I don’t have a home printer! I try and print as many as I can on one sheet when I have to charge to print at school.
Jenny, you save our family so much money! I’d love a chance to win the Brother coupon printer…it would be a true blessing from God!!
My tip would be to be selective and look for the best deal before you print!
If a coupon prints on a page and it only is 1 coupon….I will turn the paper around and put it back in my printer and print the 2nd copy of the coupon on the same paper. That way I have 2 of the same coupons on 1 sheet and I don’t have to look for both of them. Paper and Time Saver!!!! Then when I use them I recycle the leftover paper from the sheet at the local recycling center……Also, I use scrap paper and print on the back of it…..
My money saving printing tip is simple. I only purchase re-manufactured ink cartridges. For $15 I can buy three cartridges, versus $30+ for one brand new cartridge!
My money saving tips are:
1.) I only printing the coupons I KNOW I will use.
2.) I print all my coupons on my printers “speed priority” printing setting; this uses so much less ink and I have never had a problem with a bar code not scanning or a store not accepting it.
3.) I always use as much of the paper as possible: if a coupon only prints on the top 1/2 of the paper I flip it over and use the bottom 1/3 (sometimes I can ever get a coupon to fit in the middle if I know it prints in the center). I also use all the scrap papers for jotting down notes or as scratch paper.
4.) I refill my ink cartridges at my local drug store
My tip would be to print only those that you need and don’t waste paper – print both sides by turning printed page over and print second coupon on the back – saves paper. Also I get discount from Office Max on print cartridges through working with the government. Some perks are worthwhile!
I try to swap coupons with friends. I also attempt to print everything in greyscale, but it still uses TONS of ink! I try to use as much of the page as possible, and use the excess for notes or as crafts for my kids.
I print my coupons on draft and due to the cost of ink try to print only the ones I am certain I will use… The downside to that is that I miss so many good q’s.
There are several ways to save on printing coupons. First and foremost use coupons and/or sales to purchase your paper and ink. The best sales are at the beginning of the school year. I got 50 cent paper after a mail in rebate this year. You can also bring in your old print cartridges to certain stores where you will get cash back or money towards a new cartridge. As far as actually printing, a black and white printer works best. If you are printing from different sites sometimes it will only print one coupon per page- my pet peeve! I turn the paper around and upside down and get at least two more coupons printed from it!! This Brother printer would be great!

I always make sure that my printer is on “fast draft” so that it uses the fewest amount of ink possible. I also flip the pages over if and use as much of the paper as I can! =)
I have recycled paper for years especially when a print job @work went badly. I love this blog thanks for all you do Jenny!
Love your site!! Thanks for all you do for us. I try to only print coupons I know I will be using.
Your site is so great! Thank you for all you do! I just learned to make sure that the printer is set to greyscale printing to save on ink!
i try and only print the ones i will use in black and white to
i don’t have the best success rate, but i try only to print coupons that i am most likely to use.
i always get the dollar paper with rebates
Wait until you see one you need or know you will use in the future before printing lots of coupons.
Use both sides of the paper and print coupons on the back of old grocery lists!!
I only print coupons I know I’ll use (or I would like to use) for the future – otherwise I just wait until I go through the weekly adds that Jenny posts and decide to get certain things. Also, I have my printer set to print in only b/w anyway. But the toner is starting to die, and it can’t be replaced… :(
My money saving tip for printing coupons is to use a laser printer with a high yield cartridge and make sure it is a coupon you need and will use before you print it.
I set the printer on grayscale and quick print.
I make sure my print preference is on gratscale and if it only prints one I go turn my paper around. I have also used paper that may have something printed on other side that I dont need.
I need to start printing in black and white. I always forget.
Buy ink off of ebay for cheaper, and reuse paper that may have only some stuff printed on one side.
I need a new printer, the one I have uses loads of ink. My tip is to print some coupons at work for free, and only print what you need.
I need a printer. Please!
Thanks
I print in grayscale, and only print if I know for sure that I am using it.
Only print the coupons you will really use. Don’t print out every coupon you see!
I would love to win this!!!
I use recycled paper and get my ink cartridges refilled instead of buying new ones. I try to print only coupons that don’t come in my regular inserts and that I know I can use for a sale.
I save the scrap from coupon printing and trim and staple together to make pads…
I have the same printer. Puchased last year at your advise. Love my brother printer. Would love to add another one!
Only print on grayscale and only the items you are buying that day. MOST IMPORTANT: hope to win a new printer that saves you ink and time.
I only print the coupons I need when I am about to go shopping. It helps me to save my ink and paper.
I would love to win! :)
I use backs of partial printed papers to print coupons.
I only print when I need them and use grayscale. I’ve learned my lesson on printing tons of coupons to only end up throwing most of them away….ugh!
My money saving tips for printing coupons is to 1) print using reduced toner – either in black and white, EconoMode or grayscale; 2) make sure that you are printing at least 3 coupons per page; 3) If you aren’t printing 3 per page, after printing 1 or 2 cut the coupon(s) out and re-insert the remainder of the page to print. If you printed 2 the remainder of the page will be short, you can tape it to the back of a previously printed page (single coupons typically print at the top of the page) and then print and remove the tape; 4) use the back of old paper that has been previously printed on (from work or home printing); 5) Use Max Rewards, rebates and other methods to get free or relatively free paper; 6) search ebay for cheaper toner refills or bulk refills; 7) use the recycling rebates at stores like Staples and Office Depot to earn money back to purchase more toner or printer paper.
I would be so grateful to win one of these printers. What a blessing!
My printer recently died and I cant print ANY coupons. I NEED a printer!
My husband and I were just discussing how quickly our current printer runs through ink. This sounds great! Thanks for sharing, as always!
I use recycled paper to print coupons on
please! i would love to have this printer :)
I save printer paper from work (nothing with sensitive information of any kind) – paper that I would normally recycle at the office. I bring it home, and print all my coupons on the back side of that paper. I save a ton on copy paper that way. To save on ink, I print everything in grayscale, too.
Completed my four purchases at CVS today!!!! Love my chocolate even more!!!
Wow this printer looks great. I have cut way back on the amount of coupons I will print because I just go through ink too fast. Replacing my toner monthly is not worth the coupon’s savings.
I have a shred bin at work, so instead of dropping it in there I put and X on it and bring it home and start printing on a NEW DELL P713W Wireless printer. I have the printer set to black ink only. Just sit on the couch, my favorite place, and print away.
I try to watch the paper and stop it before it prints an ad.
I recommend only printing what coupons you need prior to the shopping trip. Did this today with my 3 printed coupons for .75 cents off Dove Hair Products. These 3 coupons combined with the BOGO Dove Coupon in todays paper saved me a tremendous amount of money and I was able to give these 6 products to my mother who needed them. Thank you Southern Savers for your guidance and my new found favorite store (CVS).
Looks like a budget-friendly printer! I would love to give it a try. My HP seems to drink eat cartridges for breakfast! :)
i would love to try a laser printer
I just got set up with a printer & internet at home, so I’m still getting into printable coupons seriously. :) So I don’t have any money saving tips yet, other than watching Southern Savers for free paper. :) I’m enjoying the fact that I don’t have to ignore all those online coupons anymore!
I have been following Southern savers for quite a while now, and have not won anything…except coupons, of course! My lexmark Prevail is not bad but printing coupons adds up. Would love to change to the Brother Mono Laser Printer so I can save ink for more Southern savers savings!
I have a great Epson printer but it wants to print EVERYTHING in color and that gets expensive… would love to have a printer that would save me money on toner.
Buy cheap ink through ebates!
I like to print on the back of old documents that I don’t need anymore (of course, without any sensitive information). It saves on paper!
Only print coupons when you’re SURE to use them! Don’t get print happy!! ;-)
when I suspect a huge ad is going to print out after my coup I only put in half a sheet of paper, works every time! Thank you.
i use the other side of printed paper to print my coupons.
thank you for all the helpful tips.
Using Brother HL-2240 Printer and Southern Savers are worth the coupon’s savings.
I recycle my paper and, for those times where only 1 coupon prints, use the other end of the paper.
I love Brother printer. I got mine as a refurb years and years ago on Ebay cheap. I’ve had it for so long, the drum is about to give out. Those aren’t cheap to replace.
i like you on facebook!!
So far I have printed 1565 pages on my STARTER toner cartridge that came with my Brother printer. Cover the sensor windows with black electrical tape so the light won’t transmit through. That’s how the printer “senses” that the toner is low if there is light transmission. Also, when you get the low toner notification, take out the cartridge and gently shake it back and forth. I’ve done that several times. I finally just got the notification that my toner cartridge is completely empty. I’ve had to replace it but am still getting the “dead toner” notification. I’ve had to search online for some tricks to get around it. So far, no good because I have to reinstall the software. I hope it works after I get that done! This has been a real workhorse of a printer. I’ve used it for church stuff, business stuff, and, of course, lots of coupons. I’d love to get another one for a nonprofit group of which I am a board member!
I am a coupon newbie, I’ve been couponing for less than a month and unfortunately I don’t have much of a tip to give. So far i have only used clipped coupons and e- coupons, but this printer would definitely help me get started printing. Even though i dont have any experience in printing coupons my common sense would tell me not to go printing crazy on coupons i wont actually use. I really appreciate your site along with the time and effort you put into it. Thanks!
I use the B&W “fast draft” property on my printer which uses very little ink. I also do the refillable cartridges that are cheaper than brand name.
I reuse the plain side of printed paper and also I stop printinng before the ad prints. I print in B/W.
I have to print them from work…..gets very expensive paying for each sheet of paper used :,(
I only print coupons that I know I will use.
I use scratch paper when I can to print coupons. Also, I try to only print what I need.
I like SouthernSavers on Facebook.
I print coupons in groups of 3 (so no paper is wasted!!) of only coupons I know I need than I use recycled paper from my husbands business!
Already like Southernsavers on fb.
print coupons for items i know i will purchase – buy things that i have coupons for but only thing i know i will use.
I try to only print qs for item I know I will actually buy and need multiples of
Already liked SS on FB
Already LOVE SS on FB!
I just try to print what really saves money.
I just try to print what really saves money.
I think so and it makes me feel good!
I think so and it makes me feel good!
I think so and it makes me feel good!
I only print what I need when I need them unless I am running low on that item and I will need it within the month. It also helps that some friends and I will trade coupons. (I already “Like” you on FB.
hi there! first time poster. if you do not mind me asking, where were you seeing the brother printer for $59? was it on the 1st only?
also, where did you find the cartridges/drums for $18-20? i only can find them for $46-75?
My money saving tip is to put all your non essential/impulse purchase items in the front seat of the grocery cart. Before you check out look them over and decide if they are really needed and pitch those that aren’t.
Hi, Jenny, thaks for the winning email notification. I just emailed you with my address & phone number. I just wanted to post up here & let everyone else know how thankful I am & how much I appreciate your site. Thank-you again. You have saved my family so much money since I started couponing in august 2010. Me & my husband both lost are jobs & i honestly don’t know how we would have made ends met without the help from your site. I am forever thankful to you & all the hard work you do. Finding your site was one of the biggest blessings in my life!!!
Congratulations Jessica! Lucky you!
This is Kim by the way!
