You’ve probably heard of lots of interesting “holidays” throughout the year, but did you know that tomorrow, January 20th, is Penguin Awareness Day? It seems like a pretty silly holiday since I think most people are aware of penguins, but I thought it would be fun to look for some penguin related crafts so we could “celebrate.”
Penguins are such fun animals and I’ve never met a kid who wasn’t delighted by them. Here are 10 easy penguin crafts that are perfect to do in the winter.
Easy Penguin Crafts for Winter
Handprint Penguin | The Best Ideas for Kids
How cute are these? If you don’t have pom poms or snowflake stickers, you could use a white crayon to draw things in the sky.
Paper Penguin Craft | Easy Peasy and Fun
I’ve got a paper towel roll just waiting to be made into one of these. I think instead of the construction paper eyes, though, we’re going to use googly eyes!
Pine Cone Penguins | Hello Wonderful
These are meant to be ornaments, but you don’t have to only hang them on a Christmas tree. You could hang them around your house or just don’t put the string at the top and use them to decorate!
Rockin’ Paper Plate Penguins | The Pinterested Parent
How adorable are these three penguins? And they use the googly eye idea which makes it even more fun!
Cotton Balls Penguin | Easy Peasy and Fun
Give your penguin a third dimension by using cotton balls!
Shape Penguin Craft | Non-Toy Gifts
This is a craft and a fun educational activity combined into one!
Egg Carton Penguin | Kiwi Co
If you have enough egg cartons, you could make a whole family of penguins. All you need extra are eyes, felt for the mouth and feet, and some paint!
Penguins in the Dark | Crafty Morning
This is an adorable and not very messy craft, perfect for a cold winter’s day when you’re stuck inside.
Popsicle Stick Penguin | Crafty Morning
I have a ton of popsicle sticks that I keep saving for something, and now I know what!
Paper Plate Penguin | Our Potluck Family
I love this idea because you only need paper plates and construction paper! You can do the black part with either markers or paint, depending on what you have.
