Check out the top gift ideas for girls age 10-13.

It’s hard to imagine I have two girls in this age range now! Buy for this age group can be tricky because they are growing out of the young kid toy phase.

When shopping for them, try to remember what they are currently interested in. But, if you want to try something they have never used before this is good age to test different things out.

Here are some of the top ten gifts of the year that girls aged 10-13 would like for Christmas.

Top 10 Gifts For Girls 10-13

strand bands

Strand Bands Deluxe Designer Set

Retails: $19.50

Strand Bands are a fun way to get creative and make your own jewelry! My girls love crafts and Strand Bands are great way for them express themselves. Girls can do it on their own or with a group of friends.  Before you know it, you’re going to have more friendship bracelets than you know what to do with.

wind power kit

Thames & Kosmos Wind Power Kit

Retails: $49.87

This gift is great for someone who loves putting things together! This kit lets you build your own three foot tall wind turbine and teaches you about the physics of wind power. My older girls put this kit together and absolutely loved it.  When we first pulled the kit out of the box, I thought there would be no way they could do it on their own.  But they had a blast and didn’t need any help from us except on one part.  It turns out that it’s pretty easy to put together with the directions.

loopdeloom

LoopdeLooM

Retails: $30

Know a girl who loves crafts? Get crafty with the LoopdeLoom! The LoopdeLoom is a weaving kit that lets you creates items small and large. My girls love the LoopdeLoom and I enjoy watching them use their imagination to create things they can use.  It’s a really simple loom and I let them use it to enter a piece in the State Fair.  Younger kids can use this kit too, my 7-year-old loved it just as much as the older girls.  This product will be on sale during Black Friday and Cyber Monday, so be sure to keep an eye out on their website!

crystal growing

Thames & Kosmos Crystal Growing Kit

Retails: $26.96

Another great gift that’s not only fun but educational! This Crystal Growing science kit lets you conduct 15 experiments and grow dozens of crystals.

cooking class

Cooking Class Recipe Book

Retails: $13.26

This is a great age to learn more about foods and cooking! Learn about cooking techniques, creative ways to display foods and more all while making kid friendly favorites.

wilton cake decorating

Wilton Cake Decorating Course

Retails: $15-$30

Use a weekly coupon at Michael’s to get this 50% off.  The course comes with all the supplies needed to learn how to start decorating cakes.  You make want to also be sweet and give them the frosting they need to, so they are ready to go!

Journals

Retails: $8+

You’ve officially reached the age where writing in a daily journal or just doodling is a passion.  My girls love getting a new journal.  Go smaller rather than larger on page numbers as this is still an age that misplaces things, so getting 3 small journals gives them back ups.

digital camera

Digital Camera

Retails: $30 +

We don’t do cell phones in our house or iPods yet.  Our girls are right at the 10-11 mark but I like that they aren’t withdrawn with earphones stuck in their ears.  One thing they do love though is a camera.  Older girls may want a camera with some added features but getting a basic point and shoot camera that can also take short videos is great.  Remember these don’t normally come with a memory card so grab one of those too.

Balderdash

Retails: $15

This is an incredibly fun game that’s been out for decades (I have very found memories of playing it with my entire family as a child).  It is a “bluffing” game, but it’s more a creative writing game.  You are given a word and everyone takes 1 minute to write down what they think the definition of the word is.  The best definitions win (not always the right ones).  You will laugh for days!

Purse or Handbag

Retails: $10 +

The sky is the limit on this one, but this age is starting to want to take a purse with them when they go out.  They still carry very random things in it… but they are happy to have it with them.  Get something more adult like or ask what their favorite animal is and get something cute.  They will probably love either!
