The year my husband and I got married, my mother-in-law gave us the perfect gift. It’s a Christmas journal that you write in every year. I was thinking that these would be really easy to make yourself and you can personalize your journal however you want.
This Christmas journal is to record memories your family makes each year. It’s a low commitment, so if you’ve never been into journaling or had the time to scrapbook, this is a great choice because you only have to write in it once a year. You write down who was there, what you ate, where everyone is in life at this point and include a family photo from that year.
I like to keep our journal in with all of the Christmas decorations as a nudge to remember to write in it that year.
This is an awesome gift for friends who just got married or just had a baby so they can start to remember their time together. It’s fun to look back and see what our twins were doing on their first Christmas 9 years ago!
Basic Supplies:
Blank Journal (only needs about 50 pages unless you’re a big writer)
Christmas Decorations for the cover
You can find a blank journal from the craft store. I like the ones with the paper front so you can draw on it or put a Christmas stamp. Glue a bow to the top of the cover and you can even write a note for them with instruction in the front cover. If you’re not into drawing or stamping the front of it, glue or Mod Podge some Christmas fabric or even wrapping paper to the cover.
Your can let your creativity out on this one. Personalize it as much or as little as you want. A new official “Christmas Journal” retails for around $17-$20, so I have no doubt you can make something cute and personal for a lot less!
