Easy ways to do some last minute decorating inexpensively!

Christmas is only a couple weeks away and if you haven’t bought your decorations yet, you won’t find many good deals.  Why not save a few bucks and make your own?

Snowflake

Snowflakes:

You can’t go wrong with a handmade snowflake.  Try spicing them up by cutting the snowflake from a newspaper or a page from an old book.  Just glue a string on the back to hang from the tree, or string a lot together for some garland.

Tassel

Tassels:

Grab some embroidery string from the craft store (I bought big spools for only $4 each).  Go back and forth, stacking the string on top of itself.  Then fold it in half cutting the ends and tie a knot beneath the folded middle.  I used gray and gold for these tassels.

Pom Poms

Pom Poms:

Pom Poms are another easy way to spruce up your tree.  You can either buy a pom pom machine or use another method to make pom poms.

Finger Knitting

Finger Knitting Garland:

Whether you’re stringing garland across your mantle or hanging it on your tree, this craft is so easy that even your kids can help.  Use the entire skein of yarn to make enough for your tree – you may need two skeins.
