This is the age range of my girls, so I know that at this age, they love to build and create. I do confess that being a mom of girls, sometimes I’m a little out of touch on boys but hopefully this is some help. Many of these aren’t necessarily gender specific, so I may just have to grab some of these for our 8-year-olds.
Operation Despicable Me 2 Silly Skill Game
Despicable Me 2 is a huge movie this year that we’re seeing everywhere. This is a fun twist on the classic Operation game except you’re operating on Stuart now with the help of the minions.
Disney Planes Runway Flyers Bravo
Snap in Dusty from Disney’s hit movie “Planes”, pull the trigger and watch him soar up to 25 feet into the air.
If your child likes building things, they’re going to love Squigz. They’re suction cups that not only stick to each other so you can build things, but they stick to walls, tables and more. They’re just as much fun to tear down as they are to build.
Mega Marbles Marble Fun Run 80 Piece Set
Every kid loves playing with marbles, especially when it comes with a vortex chamber, a windmill and a clacker chamber.
I love Lamplighter audio books, especially for boys in this age range. They’re a great alternative to video games and television. These are great stories with strong hero characters that learn moral lessons. Our favorite is Sir Malcolm and the Missing Prince.
The palm of your hand controls this sphere. Your kids will love watching this hover machine fly around the room – it even has a protective cage which is resistant to bounces off the walls and ceiling.
Angry Birds Outdoor Action Game
Your kids can play their favorite video game without getting on their electronics. Toss the Angry Birds at the greedy pigs. See who scores the most by where the birds land on the scoring mat.
Hot Wheels Wall Tracks Roto-Arm Revolution
The Wall Tracks Roto-Arm Revolution takes Hot Wheels to another level. Use the Command Strips provided to attach the tracks to the wall and start racing.
Now your kids can play laser tag at home! Attach your iPhone to the pack and it keeps track of your score.
